Horror Junkies

Listen up Horror Fiends! The Horror Junkies Podcast is back after spending a few years trapped in an interdimensional void where we ate questionable snacks and watched some outrageous films. On the comeback episode we give everyone an update in our lives, what's happened over the last few years, and talk about what got us into Horror.  We have a lot of horrific shows planned for you all and we are truly astonished by the amount of people who have hit us up over the break to let us know they missed the show. We do this show for all the weirdos out there. This episode is a bit rusty, but what do you expect from a couple of nerds who haven't done this in awhile, but we'll get back in the groove shortly.  As always leave us a review, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, and tell your friends about our show, so that they can join in on the horror. If you have any show topics, movies, comics, or have something Horror related you would like to see discussed on the show, send us an email at [email protected]  Want more content?! This week on the Horror Junkies Podcast we continue our two-month long look into some of the best and worst 90's Slasher movies made. So if you have any suggestions, please make sure to hit us up.

Patrick picked the movies this week and secretly threw in a nice little theme with his picks. The first movie up for discussion is one that is sure to be a favourite for anyone in the horror genre. Candyman was released in 1992 and directed by Bernard Rose, and single handly made us all fear bees. The next movie we discuss is one of those titles that got lost in the vast amount of teen slashers that involved college students getting their insides ripped out. Of course, we're talking about the 1998 release by Jamie Blanks; Urban Legends.

To start this off we decided to talk about one of Mike's favourite franchises SCREAM! Scream was released in 1996 and was directed by the horror legend Wes Craven and was such a success, that the second movie we discuss, Scream 2 was released literally the following year. Love it or hate it, the Scream movies paved the way for future Horror movies and laid out the unspoken rules of Horror.

We got the chance to set up an interview with the director of Slice, Austin Vesely. The man who brought us this year's funniest Horror movie, starring Chance the Rapper, Chris Parnell, Zazie Beetz, and Paul Scheer to name few members of the stacked cast.

Slice takes place in a spooky small town, where a slew of pizza delivery boys is slain on the job. It's up to two daring survivors to set out and catch the culprits behind the cryptic crime spree.

The movie is available on VOD and should most definitely be watched with a large pizza and frosty beverage.
