This duo started the rescue together and have combined their horse-show backgrounds and training styles to give the rescue horses a second chance at life. Maria and Emily do more than feed the horses and put them up for adoption—they care for the horses as individuals, retrain the horses, educate the public, and try to place the horses in a lifelong home. The Wetherell name is a familiar one to Horse&Rider, with Wes Wetherell being a contributing trainer. But his wife, Dana Wetherell, has also been included in the print magazine as a cover model. Dana is more than a model who graces the cover though, she's a world champion non-pro rider who has faced life-threatening adversity and still managed to stay in the saddle.

In this episode Nichole and Michaela chat with the chairman of the AQHA Virtual Youth World Cup committee and member of Team USA, Jessica McAllister. When the AQHA Youth World Cup was canceled for 2020, Team USA formed the idea of making the event virtual. With the other countries on board with the virtual event, a committee was put together with kids from the different countries involved. Jessica spearheaded the efforts and played an integral role in making the event possible for 2020. Listen to learn more about the event and what it's like now that it's virtual!
