I don't think I would rush to have a downloaded story again.

Not that the story wasn't good, because I think it was from what I cold remember. it is just that this type of reading is not for me.

I think however I will buy the book and read it. I can then make a positive decision.

It's pretty good but the end is lacking.

I didn't like the fact that the book's ending was left hanging and we are left in limbo waiting on the next book. When is the next book? It's not like it is a TV show where you can catch the rest in a week. Also the repeating of the parts we already know about the characters because it is a series.

This one you could see coming. It was an alright story line, but any reader could have told you the story and the ending before

Knew the basic story and ending before I began the book. Not the best in the series and not sure I bought the 10 year time frame in those relationships. Too much maturing goes on between 18 and 28 to even have it be believeable for me.

it was boring. At the end of it

I almost didn't finish this book, but didn't want to give up after I had already invested time in reading it. Plainly speaking, it was boring. At the end of it, I was still waiting for it to get better, but it didn't happen.

Didn't enjoy the high school reunion angle. Boring...

Thus far, I have enjoyed this series and the characters involved. I have to be honest. I skipped through the silly 20-something high school reunion chapters. They were a drag. I was completely disappointed in this book. Forced myself to finish it...more or less.

Silver Linings

I love Debbie Macomber books. I like that these characters feel like real people with real problems. Although this book was a little predictable with two of the characters, there were a few surprises with the main character and her handy man. I can't wait to find out how their story plays out. Part of me wants them to live Happily Ever after, but the other part is like, life isn't always like that. I love that her characters have real struggles, and they struggle with how they have felt for the past 10 years of their lives. Regrets, and hoping that at their high school 10 year reunion they can "fix" the past, or at least get over it to be able to move on. I can't wait for the next installment of Jo Marie's life!

Nice read

It is a nice read. The situation of Chad and Lena is something that really happens in real life. Sometimes because of the busyness in our daily life the relationship takes a back seat. But the twist about Chad, Lena and Derek is something that I totally did not expect at all.

I am on Team Derek!

I am on Team Derek! I just don't feel like rooting for Chad as he is not just my type of guy. I think the story is very sweet and since I adore reading sweet novelettes, this book is a good one for me. I like how the twist went for Lena. The author did a fine job in weaving the right words to make up this novelette. Good choice of words, awesome characters, and nice setting - overall, good job!

The Token

Excellent story.

Little disappointed it's in 9 installments.

Makes each book at $2.99 a bit pricey for a series especially when the books are averaging around 150 pages each.

With that in mind, the series itself is shorter considering each book ends and gives a sample of a different series.

So actually each book of this series is less than 150 pages each.

The other thing I am wondering is the build up.

It's a lot of tease when the second book is complete and still....

Well... I'll try one more book before I decide if I will give up or not.

I'm not sure if giving $27.00 for a series is worth that much yet.

I noticed the 9 book series set as an offer to purchase.

Surprised actually there wasn't more of a break than something like .03 cents for the entire book series.

I probably would have forked over $20 bucks if there was a deal to be had.

When I wrote my series, Scars of Julia & Secrets of Jake, I got the entire story out in three books.

Average word count was 70,000 words per book. At only .99 cents a book I thought that was fair.

Again, I'm willing to see how far this story will get with a third book completed.

I think it will determine if I continue or not.

On one last note....

The first book in this series I gave it a five star.

When I purchased the second was when I noticed it was in 9 parts.

After having read the second book, I was a bit disappointed that the story ended so quick, moved onto another book as a teaser to a completely different series.

These are the reasons my rating changed to 3 stars in book 2.

I'm not hiding from the fact I am a writer as well and could easily draw attention to this author to leave me negative feedback. However.... I'm speaking honestly.

Ebooks as well as self published authors have a great deal of competition.

If the third book doesn't give into the two main characters to start a relationship or show their intimacy I will most likely stop.

I'm getting a little bored with the cat and mouse chase for $3 bucks a pop and only giving 100-120 pages of each book the story.

Quick suspense read

Riley Scott thought her life was perfect. She had gotten a great job at Worldwide Bank and had moved up the ladder quickly. When she got moved up to executive assistant to the bank president she couldn't have been happier. He was very attractive and powerful. Things went pretty fast from there and the next thing she knew she was engaged to Jason. The wedding was to be the social media event of the year. Then one night while working late she needed information that was only on Jason's computer. What she found on his computer puzzled her. After printing off a copy and also making a copy on her flash drive she went home to talk to Jason about it. She didn't get the reaction she thought she would. Jason became enraged and after hitting her and telling her she will keep her mouth shut if she knew what was good for her Riley knew she had to plan her escape from him before he killed her.

Hawk Blackwater had left Arizona PD to come to the little town of Freewill, Wyoming to take over as Sheriff after the previous sheriff had been killed. That murder was still unsolved and he was currently trying to find out what was going on with all the sightings of strange lights at night by the Laramie Mountains. He is also very curious about the new woman in town who does her best to avoid everyone. He can tell she is very skittish and looks to be on the run from something.

After a scare on the street that paralyzes Riley with fear Hawk takes her back to his place until the shock wears off and then demands to know what's really going on with her. Riley decides she has to trust someone and Hawk feels like that person. Of course the instant sexual attraction doesn't hurt either.

For the suspense part there were many bad guys and we got all of their POV in the book so you pretty much knew what was going on for the most part. Turns out Hawk's problems with the lights and Riley's find were connected.

The book isn't a long one but it does a really good job of wrapping up everything by the end.

a well written book

Hawk a determined man with experience as a city cop decides to become a Sheriff for a small country town hoping to have a easy peaceful life, think again! Just because it's a small town hidden away in Wyoming doesn't mean all is peaceful and crime free!

Riley is a woman running for her life, cause she got a hold of information that can bring down a big criminal ring not to mention send her psychotic fiance to jail! She ends up hidding in Hawk's small town.

Can Hawk figure everything out and earn Riley's trust before someone else dies?

Good

I liked it a lot. Great hero and heroine. No TSTL moments. Keep me interested from beginning to end. Will be checking out other books by this author.
