A one-time whimsical art project to turn her daughter’s drawing into a dress, changed Jaimiee Newberry’s carefully designed life. Jaimee and Ken used their design skills and tech background to test the idea and create a working prototype. Within 24 hours after launching picturethisclothing, their idea went viral with a write-up in TechCrunch. By the end of the first week, they had mentions on multiple sites and a video with 3 million views that made their site crash.
