The long-awaited decision to move on from Herm Edwards as the head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils football team came much earlier than originally anticipated following the Sun Devils crushing home loss to the Eastern Michigan Eagles. This loss dropped the Sun Devils to 1-2 on the season with a frustratingly difficult schedule looming ahead. Rather than suffer through what might be a miserable season with Edwards at the helm, athletic director Ray Anderson opted to move on without his friend and promoted running backs coach Shaun Aguano to be the team's interim head coach.
