Meet The Grateful Deck - Student Edition!
That's right! I've poured a lot of time into this to get it ready for the school year, and I'm pleased to launch it a month earlier than anticipated!
Here's the reason why putting together a student edition of The Grateful Deck was so important to me:
The best educators know that strong relationships are critical for student learning and development. But in order to build meaningful connections with students, we need to understand how they think and feel and why they make the decisions they do. How do we get to know our students’ innermost thoughts and feelings? How do we get them comfortable enough to open up and be heard?
The key to building meaningful connections is by asking insightful questions. Asking the right questions can give students the opportunity to open up and help us explore their thinking and better understand their main motivational drivers. The Student Edition of the grateful deck contains 120 questions and prompts to spark thoughtful, fun, and positive conversations between teachers and students and to serve as a reminder of all that we have to be grateful for.
Here are some sample questions:
What would life look like without teachers?
You have one week to raise $1000 to help feed hungry kids. How would you do it?
You see a classmate getting bullied. What would you do?
Those are just a few thought provoking questions in the Grateful Deck - Student Edition. There are 120 in all.
If you're an educator, or know of an educator, this will make a great addition to the classroom this school year, whether in person or online!
