So will the hidden beauty and tranquility of Three Cliffs Bay help to bring her the peace and the answers she desperately needs? Can she possibly find real and enduring happiness again?

    A Broken Life
If you can read French with reasonable facility this is one book you should treat yourself to immediately. Marceline's book is essentially a letter to her long-dead father with whom she was deported to Bergen-Belsen. In her old age she talks to him and through her words we have a sense of the intimacy between loving daughter and well-intentioned father. We also learn of the anti-Semitism of the French who so eagerly collaborated with the Nazis and whose anti-Semitism was only slightly modified by the experiences of WWII.
What makes this book so moving is the simplicity with which the author speaks to her father and the lack of contrivance. Here is a woman who, more than seven decades later, still misses her father and yet sees him with eyes both young and old. She understands his limitations and his impossible dream of being accepted in his adopted land; and she remembers their connection - a connection that was severed irrevocably by the Holocaust.
It is difficult to encompass the banal horror engendered by a regime that thought exterminating more than six million people was a "solution." In this book we see up close just one life, and through that one life we glimpse something of the terrible waste and the sundered lives.
The style is simple, direct, and poignant. Perhaps one day there will be an English translation but if you can read French with even a basic proficiency it is worth reading the author's words as she wrote them. Because that way they have the greatest impact. And in today's USA where an orange buffoon is creating the climate wherein yet another enormous injustice may be perpetrated against a convenient scape-goat people, it is vitally important for us to remember that truly terrible things happen because they come to seem ordinary and inevitable.

Length: 11 hrs and 54 mins

    Publisher's Summary:
In a hotel, on the northeast side of Key West, Florida, Erin Hardinger is beginning spring break without her medications. For the first time in more than a decade, she is seeing the world without the pharmaceutical filter that her mother placed on her as a child. Beneath the surface of the mundane and absurd fixtures of Key West's tourist trade, a world of the living and the dead confronts Erin at every turn. The torn edges of perception and reality soon spill over into the lives of her companions and strangers; a crooked doctor on the run from the mob, the panic stricken wife of a retired optometrist, and a group of college students all find the edges of their reality blurred. Is it Erin's awakening that is causing this, or is it the hotel, or is it Key West itself?

    Walking Back from Key West
This book isn't at all what I thought it would be when I started reading it. What begins as spring break for several college students, eventually becomes something more bizarre as the story progresses. It goes from the normal drinking and partying to supernatural horror. The wonderful cover should give you an inkling into the weirdness of the story. It has a depth of insight into philosophical topics, life/death, and so much more, with interesting history about Key West. Truly a great read, and a book that will stick with you for a long time. My word of advice is "Don't give up. Read through to the end."
    The right mix
Pasqualâs story is a lot of things. It is funny at parts, and heartbreaking during a lot of it. For Tim a marketing major, it was knowing that the playing field, was both a curse and a victory. The story is a whirlwind of activity from start to finish. The author also seems to have climbed inside a femaleâs head, as his portrayal of womenâs feeling is 100% spot on! I donât want to spoil the fun of the story by rehashing it on this review. But, you will enjoy Timâs and Erinâs story. Not only did I enjoy the read, but leaned something new.
It wasn't predictable and kept me wondering how it would come together.
    Highly recommend.
and I thoroughly enjoyed following them on their journey
Tim and Erin are two of the most relateable, engaging characters I've encountered recently (even though, on the surface, I have little in common with them), and I thoroughly enjoyed following them on their journey. This novel was a good one and I plan to look for more books from this Mr. Pasqual.
    A thrilling yet captivating story
I really enjoyed the way the author painted the intro. The characters are interesting and if you like scifi don't skip out from this title. A good read for fiction lovers.
    Confusing book
Odd happenings, never all tied together. Found it rather confusing. The history of the Keys, hurricane was worth the read

As her family disintegrates, Amanda hopes for a better future, a way out of the violence and fear that have consumed her childhood. But can she cling to her sanity before insanity itself is her only means of escape?

I have been reading a lot of historical novels about south Florida and this book is almost like a continuation of one of the parts of those books. it is really a great read with life lessons thrown in.
    Lion's Paw 2 is a must read!
Wow! Lion's Paw 2 took me back to a place I remember. I could not put it down, and I have to admit, I read it in one sitting. The detail to which the author gave in not only geography but in time is impressive. I only wish the story would have been longer.
    Great book, especially for children.
This book was recommended to me by a friend and I thought I'd give it a read. Best decision I could've made. It runs through quite a few emotions as you follow along as Paul, Kate, and Ben go on their treasure hunt. He works in a bit of Florida history, and although history was my least favorite subject in school I really enjoyed the references. I plan on reading it again with my boyfriend's 6-year-old (We're already on Chapter 2). This adventure is worth the read!
Wonderful adventure and travel novel for young readers and readers of all ages
I just finished reading The Lion's Paw 2 and enjoyed the journey entirely. Set mainly in Florida and North Carolina, the topograpgy is stunning. The young characters are relatable and the storyline has a depth of engagement between the back story, the treasure hunt, and the ever present adventures that holds readers' interests. I highly recommend this book for middle school students and for all readers.

    The Price
What did you love best about The Price I Paid, Ramadi?
Listening to the audiobook is like looking thru the eyes of a soldier. I felt their pain and everyday struggles. I am thankful for their service
    A Must Read for Everyone!
This is a realistic view of what war is at least as realistic as this listener could imagine, not having served. *I'm so grateful that I agreed to listen to this in exchange for my review. It may be short, but this is a strong book & makes one think.
I have always considered myself a patriot, from the three-year-old little girl waving the flag at 4 July parade to the woman I have become. I know that freedom is never free and I knew I could never comprehend anything further then jumping on a plane with my duffel bag.
My philosophy of war is that of "Peace through Strength. No matter what "side" you feel is the best course of action; leaving a large residual force or pulling everyone out by a certain date, it is not up to you or I to judge as these "conflicts" as they are taking place.
The Price I Paid, Ramadi will slap you in the face and have you thinking about our military forces daily and not through political lens.
Thank you to all who continue to, do and will sign up for one of the most important thankless jobs in America A US Marine, Soldier, Sailor or Army. We owe you a tremendous debt that can never be repaid. You should be thought of every day of the year, not just on a couple of holidays.
Note: There is some pretty graphic details in the description of injuries.
