    Publisher's Summary:
One man is a harbinger. The other a bad boy. She seeks to save their race. Too bad she has to die.
NiaMora, is destined to die - tonight. Severin, a harbinger of death, has already arrived to bear witness. But he'll defy his duty. He won't stand by and watch, not when NiaMora may be his people's last hope for survival.
Zan Wynn cares nothing for Severin's heroic delusions. The Fae-tech mogul has "spies" on NiaMora and her aftermath cleaner team. He wants her for reasons of his own, and as the quintessential bad boy - some might say bad guy - he can't be bothered to play fair.
Oblivious to her doom, NiaMora focuses on the missing Way, the very essence of the Fae and the reason they are trapped in the mortal world. There's also the small matter of remaining single when she can't deny Severin's power over her or Zan Wynn's hypnotic pull. One man is her fate, the other the prelude to her destruction.

    Great Story
Because this is a quick listen, I did not expect such well-developed characters. My assumption was wrong. The characters are interesting, developed, and compelling. It's my first time listening to a story by this author. I am now a fan. She only has one other story on Audible, but I'm getting that one as well, and I look forward to more. Hopefully, all of her stories will be as interesting and complex as the Keeper of the Way. I'm glad I took a chance on the author and this story, it was definitely well-worth it.
Please, may I have some more?
If you could sum up Keeper of the Way in three words, what would they be?
    urban world-building fantasy
What was one of the most memorable moments of Keeper of the Way?
When one character levitates and goes to commune with a spirit. . .
Have you listened to any of Janina Edwardss other performances before? How does this one compare?
    no
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Sucked me into her world and I got to live there way too briefly.
    Any additional comments?
More, more more! The final chapter could use some rework - felt like an afterthought or oops, I missed an X scene. . .

Adelia has no one to blame for her heartache. She'd been cautioned, many times and by many people. Everyone except her mother had told her it was folly to marry an elf, citing a host of reasons. Adelia knew their warnings were not unfounded. She knew he was very different from her and her kind - he was much older, and he'd had five other wives before her. She didn't care. She had chosen her path.
The Sixth Wife is a novella of approximately 7,300 words.

    Another great read from Lond
Very much enjoyed reading this. I love Laura Lond's writing style. Loved the story's premise too.
Review: The Sixth Wife, by Laura Lond
Without much to go by from the blurb, I didn't know exactly what I was getting into when I started this story. To go along with the vague blurb, the cover was also misleading. All in all, I was pleased with how this story worked out.
This story takes place in mainly Adelia's later years (her late 50âs) as she's dealing with the fact that she's an aging human living in an ageless elf world, living with her elf husband who hasn't changed in appearance since the day they married. On the surface, this story wasn't the completely to my liking. But when I took a closer too at the themes involved, I found that there was more to it than I saw at first glance.
This isn't only a strange attempt at a romance between an elf who's still hung up on his first wife, who died on him countless years ago, and a human who's grown to accept the fact that she doesn't belong in a world surrounded by elves. There's an underlying theme of what inner beauty really means, and how vanity can often get in the way of happiness. I'd like to have seen this be a little more prominent, but it was still there and in a way worked well not as an in-your-face element.
This story started out a bit slow, but my enjoyment picked up more when it got closer to the big revelation. That was when the story began moving forward instead of dwelling on the characters' pasts, when it wasn't going anywhere. It made me wish there was more to the story because it set up a better, bigger picture of the world these elves, humans, and other creatures live in. In turn that brought up a conflict between some characters that could have been elaborated on for a bit more story to add.
I felt that while the characters weren't terribly written, Adelia lacked much dimension and Ametar's character bordered on more complex. There was much more back story to work with for Ametar, and with his numerous wives, he was more complicated. It was this combination of characters that has me questioning just what kind of romance they have.
Despite some areas where I feel this story was lacking, I did after it all, enjoy what was accomplished. If the author were to have a story, or even novel, that elaborated more on Ametar's character and his accomplishments, I would be sure to check it out. There's much to that character that could make a great companion to this short story.
    Enjoyed!
Review: The Sixth Wife by Laura Lond
4 STARS This is a short story that keeps your attention. From the title I was thinking the book would be a lot different than it was. It kept my attention, really easy to follow the story. I listened to it on my kindle. I was given this ebook in exchange for honest review from Librarything. Adelia at the start is packing and getting ready to leave her husband.

    Members Reviews:
    A definite DO NOT BUY!
This is a exceptionally poorly written short story. Exceptionally poor writing style, terrible plot development, and very poor value for the dollar characterize this story; which is about a woman who becomes a vampire. I was expecting a novel about the process and struggles of adapting from the human to vampire worlds. Instead I was treated to possibly the most poorly written SHORT story I have ever read. 44 pages in length my Kindle DX with a larger font, so perhaps 22 pages in book format.
    warmed over oatmeal
I thought the writing was a little to simplistick. I did not become attatched to any of the characters. When your life becomes basically what is suspopsed to be a horror story you probably would have more than a luke warm reaction.
    Absolutely wonderful!!
"Nightside" is one of those books that readers can say is great, engaging, and absolutely wonderful!! The plot and the characters are amazing and in buying this short story, the reader will not be disappointed. I could totally sympathize with the character of Jayde; one moment she was an ordinary working woman and in the next she is turned into a vampire. Can you imagine??? If you want to read about it, then "Nightside" is the book for you!!

What did you love best about Chasing Destiny?
I read the ebook and it was fantastic and held my attention even though this is not my normal reading genre.
The audio book was a grabber - the narrator, just filled the characters with life and a richness that made the story even better.
Have you listened to any of Veronica Gigueres other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first Veronica Giguere narration - but she is certainly a top-notch reader/character actress.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I found the entire story captivating and quite moving...bravo to author and narrator.

    Publisher's Summary:
Vivian Blue had always been a little different. She had no idea how different until Hatch Lancaster, a wealthy, handsome, and mysterious man, enters her life on a secret mission. Within a short time, Hatch becomes her boss, her friend, and the man who haunts her heart and her dreams. With Hatch's help, Blue begins to uncover truths about herself and her past, and soon discovers that nothing in her life is as it appears to be.
Surrounded by subterfuge and unidentified danger, Blue is left with Hatch as her only protection and defense. As she turns to Hatch for protection, however, she begins to wonder whether the danger comes from the secrets in her past or from Hatch himself.
A truly powerful dragon, Hatch is torn between his growing attraction to Blue, his responsibilities to his homeland, and perhaps most importantly, the future of dragonkind.
The debut novel by author Acaica Awai, Scales is a new and modern take on the legend of dragons and dragonkind, reinventing the mythology surrounding these fantastic creatures. Set against the backdrop of beautiful Maui, Hawaii, Scales introduces readers to a new world of adventure, excitement, and romance.
    Members Reviews:
    A New Take on Dragons
While the setting is beautiful and bought back some memories of Maui, it made the story enjoyable. However, the story was very slow moving and the ending didn't resolve anything. We still don't know to what extent Blue is a dragon and if she will be able to master her abilities. We have an idea who wants her dead/captured but not for sure or what their agenda is. In other words we were left hanging with a lot of unanswered questions.
I am not sure if I will invest in the sequel if there is to be one. Hatch and Blue were very likeable characters but I am not that invested in their resolution at this point.
Can't wait for the next book
Would you consider the audio edition of Scales to be better than the print version?
I brought the audible version because I could listen to it in the car. I can't drive and read at the same time. lol.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes I listened it in the car and then took my ipod inside and listened to the end of it when doing housework. Loved the story and even looked online to see if the author had any other books published either in ebook or audible book format. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
    Intriguing but unfinished
Would you listen to Scales again? Why?
I will probably listen again in case I missed anything as I am often listening whilst doing something else. Its well read and easy to follow.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I was disappointed with the ending, as to me there was no ending, it just stopped and the credits were being read. I fully understand the need to keep fans eager for me, but I felt it could have been handled better and wound down a little more.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
Overall it was slow to start to with but once all the characters had been introduced it rolled along quite nicely.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did not listen to other books whilst listening to this one, however I had to fit listening around other things. A bulk was heard in the car.

    Publisher's Summary:
Rumors of Aurelia Popkiss's death have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, she and her crew have been drifting through the big black, scavenging to survive since the day she "died". Yet after years of being on the wrong side of less than favorable odds, they never thought that finding a young girl stowed away on their ship would prove to be among the worst things to happen to them.
From the moment Aurelia finds Kateryn concealed in her cabin, Auri knows she's hiding something. But even Aurelia can't imagine the true reason for the stowaway's sudden appearance in her life.
Kateryn's past is as convoluted and murky as Aurelia's own. The girl is out for revenge and nothing is going to stop her from destroying Aurelia and her crew - including Keys, Aurelia's fellow shipmate and the man she's secretly in love with - to get it.
    Members Reviews:
    Fast, fun, sexy read
The book leaves you wanting more, and hopefully this is just the start of a series or a much longer book. The group of space pirates are dynamic and interesting. The lead female is strong, funny, and the complete opposite of Twilight's lead. And the writing flows so smoothly that even though I'm a slow reader, I was able to finish this in record time (it helped that it's a novella too). It's a testament to the author's style.
If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced, and humorous read in a scifi (space pirate) setting and a lot of sweet romance in it, I would definitely recommend this!
    Fun, quick summer read!
I picked up this book based on a recommendation with no real expectations. I'm not a sci-fi junkie, but more of a hopeless romantic that enjoys books with suspense and plot twists. Liar's Game was great! I loved the eclectic characters and all the baggage in their backstories. There's lots of substance and potential romance there to turn this into a series perhaps? The book was a quick read and left me wanting to see what might happen next between Auri and Keys as well as the crew on their next adventure. Highly recommend it!
    Liar Liar Pants on Fire
I absolutely enjoyed this story. It was a short read that I devoured in a couple of hours that was complete with great characters, action, plot, and ending. Oh, and a sweet romance to boot!
For being dead, Aurelia Popkiss sure does have great adventures. She and her crew have been scavenging through space since the day she "died." For a girl brought up as a lady, she sure has a diabolical mind always planning their next heist. When she discovers a young woman stowed away on their ship, the whole crew isn't sure what to do. Aurielia KNOWS the stowaway Kateryn is up to something, that her "story" doesn't pan out. But why is she here? Can she sift through the lies to figure it all out? And can she out maneuver the crafty stowaway?
This was such a fun read. Aurelia leads a space pirate crew that is quite eclectic. Her crew is awesome and loyal. Each crewman is unique and adds so many flavors to the story. Each pirate has his own reason for ending up on that ship together, and I enjoyed getting to know them. The POV shifts between Auri and her first mate, Keys, whom she's attracted to but knows nothing will ever come of it.
The adventure was fun to follow as you can tell more is going on than meets the eye.

    Members Reviews:
    Hard to find the words
This review contains spoilers, so be advised.
I started reading the story trying to find out what this 'Secret' was, not from the H alone but also from the h. The first few chapters drag on a lot, with the tension between Morgan and Brian. It gets to the point of being highly irritating. Then I found out that he's a werewolf and she's a hunter and I seriously considered stopping there (I HATED 'Twilight', couldn't get past the first chapters!).
I did finish reading 'Secret', so I could give it a fair review. If you're in this kind of genre, you might like it. There is enough tension between the characters and it does have a romantic end. A lot of time period inconsistencies, though.
What really appalled me was to see a publication house behind this novel. It hardly looks like the author even had spell check to use, let alone a professional editor (which I still don't believe there was one, maybe Hydra Publications is low on funds or something). It starts with misplaced commas (too many, too little), the random use of 'your/you're', 'to/too' (such basic, elementary level mistakes), then it escalates to the point where the author uses the word 'equate' when she clearly meant 'acquaint', and a lot of many others. Very distracting/frustrating to read a novel that has supposedly been professionally reviewed with so many glaring mistakes.
It is very obvious that the author is young and inexperienced- keep working at your craft, read a LOT, buy a good dictionary and a thesaurus and be more discriminate about the publisher. If possible, save some money and hire an independent professional editor/s, you will learn a lot from this.
Completely Amateur! How did this get published??
I will start this review by being honest and admitting that I could only read 25% of the book before I got too annoyed to finish the story, I read alot (mysteries, historical, supernatural)and that is a first. It is just not worth the waste of time and possibly money(if not free). There is no editing in this book, spelling, punctuation and grammer are below a 6th grade level. The author has little to no comprehension of 19th century dialogue (pissed off?? really?), manners (arguing with parents in social setting), social interaction between sexes or classes , or pastimes (it would only take a 30 second google to find out that rummy was NOT invented until 20th century, pure laziness! try whist). The poor writing is way too dialogue heavy with little prose, story or character developement.
