Why wait for the next game of thrones??
Where does Knight's Valor rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Right at the top, I would put it on par with Game of Thrones!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Knight's Valor?
So far, and it's early mind you, was the realization that the Primus Sapient was leading the insurgency!
What does Chris Macdonnell bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Chris is so good, and so natural in his delivery that I truly didn't feel like I was listening, but rather living the story - well done!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
    Extremely positive :)
    Any additional comments?
Just that Chris should be retained for the next installment of The Game of Thrones. He is a natural! Looking forward to the next in this series.
    great book with
Fantastic book, really brought to life by the easy yet super-expressive voice of Chris MacDonnell. This is the fifth book that I've heard him read and hunger for more. I understand he is also a really great British actor. The book is an excellent story and I w o he'd recommend it to anyone with a modicum of imagination. Great job,Chris!

    Publisher's Summary:
Attanasio continues The Perilous Order of Camelot, the epic fantasy series begun in The Dragon and the Unicorn, with the story of young Arthor on his journey to Camelot. When Merlin discovers that Arthor's only joy is killing, he vows to turn the youth around with a magical sword.
Merlinus has fostered the future king of Britain with Kyner, a Celtic chieftain, protected by obscurity from the jealous hatred of the sorceress Morgeu. As Arthor grows to manhood, though, he becomes a twisted creature, loving violence and hating himself. What kind of king will he be? A chance journey leading to woodland encounters shapes his character and settles his destiny.
Arthor's story is a single thread in a vast, complex web of gods, demons, angels, a sorceress, a unicorn, a carpenter with a wish, a dragon, Saxons, an impoverished Aquitanian lady with a secret weapon, battle-hardened Celtic chieftains and treacherous Roman nobles, knights, warring religions, and fairies. A. A. Attanasio's metaphysics, marvels, and magic will keep your interest and suspense high.

This is the second book in his Arthurian series. ...
This is the second book in his Arthurian series. I found the prose lyrical and original. I am enchanted with this author and his unique approach to the Arthurian legend. I have bought every book in this series and will probably buy every book he has written. Thank you for sharing your talent with fantasy readers everywhere. Your books are truly gems of the genre.
    Meh
The Perilous Order of Camelot tries really, really, really hard to hack it at the level of epic fantasy and gets painfully close, but never quite makes it there. The characters are always a shade too flat, the settings a shade too cartoonish, the dialogue a shade too thin. Worth reading for the originality of the narrative despite the flawed execution.
    Good...but
A really, really, new twist on an old legend. I enjoyed it and it was surely thought provoking.I found myself rooting for the bad guys ( Odin and his clan) half the time. I consider myself at least half way literate, but some of the descriptive words were way beyond my vocabulary. One other negative, you know how it's going to end, sorta.
    Merlin continued
This sequel to the Dragon and the Unicorn continues to describe the trials Merlin must go through and where the sword came from in a different way. Very interesting if you enjoy reading about the realms of fairies, dwarves, demons, witches and such. A must read.
    Great story, unique prose
A unique take on the arthur legend full of uniquely wide ranging myth and science, legend and narrative. I loved it.

    An Excellent Addition
WOW!! I have to say that even though this is a YA book it's excellently written. Sagara masterfully manipulates your emotions to match that of her characters. I love a book that can make me "FEEL" exactly what the characters are feeling. To my mind it's a sign of excellence. Here's the downside, there is a lot of grief in both of these books, so prepare yourself for that.
Emma has a lot to face in this book. Her beloved Nathan is returned to her, but it's not the gift she thought it was, her mother brings home a boyfriend, and most of all, the danger quotient has gone way up. Emma's friends and her Dad have her back though. Adam's narration is excellent with the caveat that with his deep voice it makes doing a teenaged female voice difficult so give him a break there.
I can honestly recommend this book to all audiences. Worth the credit or cash.
    Horrible Narration
I really enjoyed book 1 of this series and was looking forward book 2 - I tried, really, I tried but the narration was so bad that I returned the title. The gentleman's voice for the male characters was nice enough, but when he attempted female voices, it was not only annoying, it was insulting. All of them, whether teenager or adult sounded like idiots. Apologies should be given to the author and a new narrator hired to republish the audio version.
    narration ruins the book
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I loved the first book; but, the narrator ruins the second book. I had to keep trying to focus on what the book was saying instead of being annoyed by the narrator.
What did you like best about this story?
The story continues on character development. I enjoyed learning more about how the characters interacted with new situations.
Could you see Touch being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
The series would be ideal as a new TV series for young adults

A well told adventure that everyone can enjoy!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! This was well written, yes, but well told as well! Oh, I'm not saying it's going to be like listening to a movie or any such. I will say that I began identifying characters by the way the voice was done, though.
What did you like best about this story?
The pace. I know, a good many people will say it is the sense of excitement they got while reading/listening, or the fact that even though there were fight scenes they weren't all filled with gore... I liked that it started at one pace and it kept on going. It didn't feel like they were in the world's biggest rush to get where they were going. They were enjoying the adventure, these characters, and so was I.
What about Brae Wyckoffs performance did you like?
Absolutely! He does so in the telling of his tale, sure, but also in the way the characters grow. I was a bit surprised to learn about those "rusty lockpicks."
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I'd liked to have heard more people for the various voices, but this isn't a movie. It's not a cartoon, either. He did a good job with just himself and a couple of friends of convincing me that this was a whole world! My wife even enjoyed it, and she hates fantasy.
    Any additional comments?
I would recommend this book to anyone! In fact, I've recommended it to some friends already.

    Pleasant Surprise!!!
Story was sort of start and stop for me. Would be very interesting then die off but overall it turned out nicely.
    Nick Podehl was EXCELLENT.
    A moving adventure
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
For me, it took a while to get into the story and relate to the characters - about a quarter of the way into the book. But after that, I was all in. I felt the losses the characters felt, and their passions and their plight.
    Any additional comments?
The end was satisfying and left me thinking about the characters and the world for days after finishing the book.
Supposedly nice premise obscured by whining hero
Apparently there is some philosophy here? I don't know, I really couldn't make it through the endless contrived encounters between whining cardboard characters. The background and world is really lavishly constructed, and I kept wanting to continue, but in the end, the plot developments are so clumsy and contrived, and the characters so flat that I just couldn't sit through their whining to get to the heart of it. I did my best, but ditched it after I fell asleep in the middle of a giant battle scene between some talking animals and a dead guy and an immortal statue with a hammer and such.
A full throated defence of blind faith
    Any additional comments?
but seriously this is so one dimensional its stupid. It starts off somewhat promising but it becomes pretty clear that what the author was trying to do here was promote a very specific view of the world. Brandon Sanderson said it best in The Way of Kings: "the role of a storyteller is not to tell you what to think, but to give you questions to think about." This is not that. It is very clearly telling you what to think, and bluntly. World building is very formulaic and in a way that feels like the author was just doing a scifi checkbox thing. A huge disappointment.
    better the 2nd time around
listened to it a while back. not terribly impressed with either the story or the narration. However, I usually listen to stuff more than once and upon this listening I realized that the story is a lot more complex and involving than I first thought it to be. The narration is spot on. In general, a very good listen.

Enchanting Read for Serious Science Fiction, Fantasy, Action & Adventure Fans
"By the fargin barnacles clinging to my arse, you saggy-titted niddies are going to scrub the deck down to the splinters for that..."
Besides the brain wracking; breath holding suspense, I loved the humorous quips the author presented in "Dragon Isle: The Legend of Vanx Malic." I felt at times that I was among a set of beloved old uncles. Like even though you knew that these guys could get into some serious trouble; at the end of the day, they had hearts of gold.
The Legend of Vanx Malic is the second book from "Through the Wildwood" and chronicles the half Zythian half human named Vanx. In this dramatically mythical adventure, Vanx is now on a quest to free the only daughter of a Dutchess and the love of his comrades life; Trevin.
Many times I found myself perched with baited breath over my kindle as the team trecked through the merciless expanse of the wooded forest teaming with flaming dragons. We're they going to make it?
I know the hero is supposed to make it...(well it happens like that most of the time) but "M.R" was making me scared.
I mean; I had already attained a liking for these rough shod men in the beginning and now my suspended reality was being threatened by a possible massacre?!
Strangely and interestingly enough though... the lesson I got from this fantastic read was that; when all else fails, face your fears because at the end of the day, the only thing to fear is fear itself.
There is no shortage of mind numbing, breath stopping, heart racing adventure in this read and shows that love will go to any lengths to seek that which it desires.
If you love adventure... no wait
If you love mythical adventure...hold on that's not it
If you love enchanted mythical adventure draped in suspense...Then take the journey with Vanx today.
Listen...I'm of the belief that... when reading a book, and you don't realize that you've stopped breathing until your head starts feeling light...then that's when you know you've been hooked by a damn good book. `
Though you can read this book as if it was the first I highly recommend you purchase the first book to this series "Through the Wildwood," it just makes the subject matter that more breathtaking.

    Publisher's Summary:
As an Angel, Remy Chandler possesses powers and skills he puts to good use in his chosen profession - but only if the situation calls for it. And the sudden reappearance of the Garden of Eden is definitely one such situation, since the seemingly benevolent Sons of Adam want him to find the Key to the Gates of Eden. But there are those who want the Gates to stay shut, for there is something terrible and dangerous buried in the Garden . . .Caught between two warring factions of immortals, Remy must decide how to proceed: Find the Key, or not? Desperate for help, he turns to a very old acquaintance - a fallen angel who is sometimes friend, sometimes foe, and always deadly.
    Critic Reviews:
"Sniegoski nicely juggles a large cast and throws in some touching moments (Remy's conversations with his late wife, Madeline, are especially sweet) and humor (as always, provided by Remy's dog, Marlowe) to balance the epic violence. There's more than enough nonintrusive exposition to let new [listeners] jump into the story, while longtime fans will appreciate the development of recurring characters such as fallen angel Francis." Snappy Writing and Very Human Characters - Just What I Was Looking For
Oh dear, this is awkward. Iâve managed to pick up the last book in a series without realizing there were preceding novels. I do have an excuse! I was visiting family in the UK and saw âPrince Thiefâ faced out in the local Waterstones. I quickly skimmed the back, thought it looked interesting, and downloaded it to my Kindle at the first opportunity. It wasnât until I started reading that I realized I had goofed, but I was too drawn into the story to stop. So, my little disclaimer up front is that this review is just for this book, not the trilogy. I picked up âPrince Thiefâ in hopes of finding a good read with fantasy elements and likable characters (and given that the last couple fantasy novels Iâve read have been pretty dark, something a little lighter in tone was also on my wish list). The book more than satisfied my expectations and then some! Spoilers follow.
A war with the crown looms, threatening to destroy the capital city Altapasaeda. With the cityâs residents still divided over a recent civil conflict, the only hope of defeating the kingâs army, a force that well outnumbers that of Altapasaeda, is the retrieval of Malekrin, son of the kingâs bastard and last remaining heir to the throne. Easie Damasco, thief and unwilling participant in this scuffle, finds himself saddled with the task of bringing Malekrin back to Altapasaeda. Unfortunately for him, the teenage prince has his own ideas and isnât keen on acting as a figurehead - he just wants to escape his family and make his own decisions. Faced with an uncooperative prince, a city looking to him and his friends for protection, and an army knocking at the city gates, how is Easie going to get himself out of this one?
Iâll start by noting that the story is very easy to follow. Itâs obvious that there were other books before this and events in them are referenced, but the author more than adequately recaps the events. Despite having jumped in where I did, I never felt lost. I did sometimes feel like I was missing the full impact of some developments, but, again, thatâs my fault for being an idiot and not checking the series order. Still, it wasnât enough to ruin the reading experience.

    LIFE IS A LOTTERY
THE MAN WHO RIDES A TIGER, FINDS IT HARD TO DISMOUNT
Cruising the used book stores, I started coming upon these old series in paperback. I thought it might be cool to collect them. Like John Norman's Gor series. I picked up a couple of these with the half naked girls on the cover. I am finding out that there is a reason many of theses did not make it to hard back. They are bad writing. This is no exception. I found it to be very boring and Jim the Impatient will listen to NO boring book.
I do like George G. Gilman's Edge series (the most violent westerns ever printed). Maybe someday they will appear in audible.
This book doesn't even have a good cover, skip it.
    Modern Science Fiction/Paranormal Romance
What did you love best about The Winds of Gath?
Rediscovering Dumarest of Terra is a delight beyond belief. This kick-off novel of a series of more than 20 novels, a legend in itself by a legendary author, was written in the mid-1950's, but (except for tape recording medium and lack of handheld communicators and worm holes) reads as if written last year.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Dumarest is my favorite character -- he is one searingly Hot Romantic Lead character. I had no idea how hot when I read this as a kid.
On the other hand, there are no overt sex scenes -- it's all implicit not explicit, and not even a "go to black" -- but if you have any imagination at all, this guy ROCKS.
Have you listened to any of Rish Outfields other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first Rish Outfield recording -- I have the second and third Dumarest of Terra novels which Rish Outfield also read, and I'm looking forward to them.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There's a spooky, paranormal/supernatural scene toward the end. Well, maybe it is and maybe it isn't, which is what's spooky, but the Winds of Gath blow and strange things are experienced -- judge for yourself. That's what I like best in a novel -- not pat answers but intriguing questions.

E-Reads invites you to rediscover this brilliantly imagined world where men are masters and women live to serve their every desire.
Magicians of Gor: Book 25 of the Gorean Saga: After the disaster of the delta campaign Ar is substantially defenseless. The forces of Cos, and her allies, are welcomed into the city as liberators. Ar's Station, which held out so valiantly against superior forces in the north, is denounced as traitorous. Veterans of the delta campaign are despised and ridiculed. Patriotism and manhood are denigrated. Lawlessness and propaganda are rampant. Marlenus, the great ubar, who might have organized and led a resistance, who might have rallied the city, is presumed dead, somewhere in the Voltai Mountains. Tar; is concerned with a warrior's vengeance upon sedition and treachery, and, in particular, with meeting one who stands high amongst the conspirators, a beautiful woman now enthroned as ubara, whose name is Talena.

    No longer the End
DO NOT read Magicians unless you have read both Vagabonds and Renegades. Tarl's experiences in the Delta change him in subtle ways. Magicians is the only one of the books up to this point that I had only read once. I remember a totally different ending, and was content that that was the end of the story. Now that Norman is no longer blacklisted, and these books are ALL back in print including Dancer, I look forward to hearing what is going to happen. I bought Witness on Ebay as a self published print on demand book and have read about 1/3rd of it. I decided that I had to go back and start over. These audio books are the author's approved versions. I have no desire to look for differences in my versions, I'm sure they exist. These are the versions the author wanted to stand the test of time and I'm not going to argue with him.... I like the ending much better then the one I remember, and I know that I get to meet Tarl again in a couple of books. Revenge is a dish best served cold.... Tarl takes it in spades here. I think he's still in love with Vella though.... or at least I believe so. I wonder if he is ever going to figure out that the Black Tarn let her ride it. To me, that matters, but at least she is safe in Port Kar. I missed out on what happened to her the last 3 times around. Of course I'm a romantic. There are new Gor books to read. Hard to believe, but true. I wish you well.
