    Publisher's Summary:
"The Ego Machine" is science fiction story by Henry Kuttner.
    Excerpt:
"Was your mother's name Helena Glinska?" the robot asked. "It was not," Martin said. "Ah, then she must have been the Great Hairy One," the robot murmured. Martin took his feet off the desk and sat up slowly. "It's quite all right," the robot said hastily. "You've been chosen for an ecological experiment, that's all. But it won't hurt. Robots are perfectly normal life forms where I come from, so you needn't..."

    Routine Kuttner
This is a novelette which Henry Kuttner (actually, like almost all of his fiction, it was co-written with his wife, C.L. Moore) published in the magazine Space Science Fiction in 1952. It is a humorous story about a serious writer trying to extricate himself from the clutches of a Hollywood studio which wants him to write schlock screenplays; he accomplishes his goal with the help of a visiting alien robot (but only after he learns how to get the robot "high" on jolts of electricity). (Not surprisingly, Kuttner was doing some screenwriting at this time.) All of Kuttner's SF is readable (and some of it is superb), but this is not one of his best.
    Ok, great story
This book read like a story from the Twilight zone. Very enjoyable indeed. The ending wasn't expected, the beginning had you wondering what was going on. I actually thought that the robot was from the studio, enough spoilers, read and enjoy.
    One Star
I did not like this. Couldn't even finish the book.
    Five Stars
    Kuttner was BRILLIANT!!!

    Good story, the right length
This worked well as a one disc audio drama.
The voice acting and enhancements (music, sound effects) worked well together.
It is the story of a particular scout squad of the Ultramarines who ...
    [beware spoilers follow]
The nickname of the squad leader is the Eye of Vengeance.
The squad is with two Ultramarine companies on an agriworld where the forces of Chaos are kicking Imperial rump ... Because, the Chaos forces have a forge that can turn any killed/recovered scrap into a Chaos war machine.
The squad does battle royale and defeats the forge/shrine with some loss.
Interestingly, I am pretty sure that 1/2 way through the story the squad kills the warlord, but it is a bit glossed over.
Let m know if I got that right, but the warlord is mentioned in the opening in his ambiotic filled blister, and the very thing is described as being destroyed by the squad.
    Curious.
This one is worth a listen.
Good audiobook for the Warhammer 40K fan.
If you are a Warhammer 40K fan I think that this is almost a must buy. A good short story with lots of action and it really keeps your interest.
    Another Good great 40k dramatization
I started listening to these about a year ago on my way into work. I have about an hour drive and get through most of it on the way in. The 40k dramatizations are well done, music, sound effects and good voice acting. Any 40k fan should listen and any sci-fi fan should as well.
    Torias Telion...
Torias Telion is one of the best snipers out there. This was my first introduction to the character and I do have to say this character blew me away. I loved how he interrupted the gathering, that was just too cool!
Wonderful chapter, I highly recommend this audiobook!

This is Why We Read Indie
I have to say that starting off I found the book to be overly campy. A few things happened that made no sense, and I put the book down for a bit. But then I talked to a friend who also read the book, and she encouraged me to keep going.
The story became very complex with unexpected twists, and an adventure that swept me along. I could not put it down. I kept wanting to know what happened next! Ended up reading the entire book in three days, and was left off wanting more.
Originally, due to the shaky beginning, I had no intention of giving this book more than 4 stars. To me a 5 star rating is strictly for something on the level of The Martian or the book equivalent of The Matrix - something with deep philosophy and an engaging story that stands out.
This book earned that 5 star rating. It was engaging and adventurous, bringing in many of the best elements of both science fiction and fantasy.
This is why we read Indie.
A few readers might be offset by the fact that many of the characters, both good guys and bad guys, hold to the Christian Faith. If you are rabidly anti "Religion" then this book may not be for you. May I instead suggest a book about Hercules or the Force? Not every book is meant for every reader, and that's okay!
But for those of you who are open to a space opera that deals with spirituality, including Christian themes, then this book is definitely one that you should try out.
The author explains what is happening well, so even young readers will be able to follow along. The only part I was confused about was keeping the "Twitch" and "Voide" characters straight in my head. So if you pay attention to their description at the beginning you will be fine. I intend to do this when I read the book the second time around in the next few weeks.
Disclaimer: I think that it is proper for me to mention that I do know the author personally. That said, I strived here to rate the book on it's own merits. I am in the same author group as the author, however I think the book stands on it's own, and I highly recommend it to others.
Every reader is different, and everyone has a different experience going into a book. Yours may be very different from mine, but I can definitely say that I enjoyed the adventure, and look forward to joining the bridge of Star Wolf again when the next book comes out!

When his father, New Chicago's top engineer, is taken by the Aeternum, Diego must rescue him and prevent this evil group from disrupting the fragile peace humanity has forged.

    Good Collection, Sub-Par Copy
This book is well worth reading, especially if you can get it cheap. I bought it just for "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex", a thoughtful essay on why Superman and Lois Lane are not really a One True Pairing!
This copy is listed in "Used, Very good" condition. However, the bottom corner of the front cover is missing, cut off sharply! That's what I personally call Marginally Acceptable, NOT "Very good". I'm giving it 4 stars, because you'll spend a little more, buy a better copy and read the book anyway!

love it, like I did the first one
I loved this first book in this series. Zombie Park is worth the read. this is book two and is not a stand alone book. ( and thats ok, because book 1 rocked)
Though I didn't think it was great as the first one, it was still good and worth the read if you like zombie books!
I really like Mr Rose's main voice, and would listen to him again anytime!
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
    Zombies Park - Escaped!
I enjoyed this book so much. I liked the first one in the series ever so slightly more because of the anticipation of how badly this bad idea was going to go. In this book, part 2, the zombies have been created, perfected and let loose. This part is more about escaping the flesh eaters, survival and the reaction of the US military. This tale includes subterfuge, coverups, murder, former human flesh eating machines, some brief sparks of romance and much more. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an undead story with a dose of humor!
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.
    The zombies are loose!
The Zombie Park idea didnt turn out so well. The zombies, undead humans and undead animals alike are on the run, leaving a trail of death and destruction everywhere they go. The PETZ organization (People for the Ethical Treatment of Zombies), have done their work well by unleashing havoc on the city of Valparaiso. How this is going to turn out is anyones guess. Will the authorities or the Army be able to stop the spread of infection as the zombies continue to feed and kill? Will the Armys real plans for the park come to light? Stay tuned to find out. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
    awsome
Would you listen to Day of the Zombies again? Why?
If you liked zombie park then you will love. Day of the zombies can it get better then zombie park of course this is another wild ride by Mr mark ailes
Have you listened to any of Persephone Roses other performances before? How does this one compare?
Zombie park what's not to like zombies mad general's. Zombie parks lol
    Escaped
The zombies have escaped the park and doing what zombies do, eating humans and converting them to zombies all the gory stuff but missed the smart talking/communicating zombies in this book. The characters are likable some funny some evil. Ben is dead and there are new characters, General Poe is still in it.
