    Title: The Change of Seasons
    Subtitle: 299 Days, Book 7
    Author: Glen Tate
    Narrator: Kevin Pierce
    Format: Unabridged
    Length: 9 hrs
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-26-14
    Publisher: Sellerman & Sweeney, LLC
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 516 votes
    Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Sci-Fi: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
The Change of Seasons is the seventh book in the 299 Days series, where summer has ended and reality has set in at Pierce Point. For many people, this means scrambling to survive the long winter with even less food. Some were smart enough to spend the summer preparing for the changing season and the expanding effects of the Collapse; others were not so smart, and their desperation and fear grows stronger by the day.
Grant Matson reflects with pride on how he has provided for his family while guiding Pierce Point into a community that functions well on its own. Celebrating this accomplishment, Grant and others join to offer the community a Thanksgiving dinner, which is met with gratitude and exhilaration. This mood is short-lived, however, as circumstance quickly begin to unravel, beginning with the disappearance of a beloved community member, followed shortly by a self-defensive killing by another. The situation is just as bleak, or worse, in other parts of Washington State and the country, as innocent people are imprisoned and murdered, women and children become commodities, and what is left of the government looks even less like the once-beloved United States of America.
As the threat of a civil war becomes imminent, Grant, the Team, and the 17th Irregulars at Marion Farm bond over their duty to protect the country and are soon a fully formed combat-ready unity, excited to go into combat but uncertain of what will happen to them. Grant dreads what he knows is coming, but he understands that he has been called to sacrifice - potentially his life and probably his marriage - to stop the Loyalists from hurting more people.

    Great series
What did you love best about The Change of Seasons?
Great series. Definitely gives you something to think about. Grammar could use some help though.
    Another 5 Star Sequel
Just can't get enough of this seies. Mr. Pierce delivers another exceptional narration. On to number 8.
    Enjoying the whole series
Enjoying the whole series, glad it finally made its way to audio book.
A good book got better with audio!
I bought the book a while ago, but listening to Kevin Pierce narrate the story was incredible. The easy-to-understand wording conveyed powerful messages simply, and Pierce's voice wasn't hard on the ears at all. Top-notch reader. The storyline was one that built a ton of anticipation and suspense, so definitely a cliffhanger book. The reasons for war, and the motivations of the players, to me, is as interesting or more interesting than the actual fighting itself, and this book did an awesome job of showing that. Great book from Glen Tate made even better on audible!
    items all great.
says optional, why make me have twenty twenty twenty twenty some words here when it say s optional?

Title: Hard Luck Hank: Basketful of Crap, Book 2

    Publisher: Steven Campbell
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 2084 votes
    Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Sci-Fi: Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
Hank was a dying breed on the space station Belvaille. The criminal gangs that had once made their homes there were forced out by the corporations that had taken over since the facility became an Independent Protectorate. Instead of the gentlemanly gang wars that had once dominated the scene, and made Hank's services prized as a negotiator, the city was now plagued by the clash of corporate armies using heavy weapons. Even tanks roamed the streets regularly. Most everyone from the olden days had either fled the station or was killed due to the organizational changes. Changes that Hank personally brought about when he had negotiated Belvaille's status with the Navy. As Hank contemplates whether he can survive in this increasingly hostile environment, he realizes that things aren't as bad as they seem - they are quite a bit worse. The constant power plays among corporations might have further reach than just the alleys of a backwater space station at the edge of the galaxy.

Dry noir scifi comedy done right
Hard Luck Hank: Basketful of Crap is a short but very entertaining listen. If you liked the first book, you'll love the second.
This book had me grinning from ear to ear, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a fun read.
Great Sci-Fi humor and action - lots of fun
I love writing that can make me laugh. There's one scene written in this book that had me laughing really hard (Hank in the space shuttle going to meet the general.) The rest of the book is pretty even throughout with wry humor, wisecracks, and Hank's continuous self-deprecating viewpoints. It's awesome that Steven Campbell can keep up a high rate of humor throughout the book.
The narration is good, and most characters are identifiable by voice, although the narrator is a bit limited in variety in comparison to Fisher Stevens or Bronson Pinchot. Liam Owen is perfect as the voice of Hank, with dry wit, snarky, sarcastic and long-suffering tones modulating Hank's speech and inner voice.
It's a book that manages to be funny and still have an interesting and inventive plot and pretty good action scenes.
    Let the good times roll!
An enjoyable listen, absolutely loved the new characters, the good and bad guys.
Thought it had a but more excitement and action than the first, with the great twists throughout!.
Familiar Hank feel but still felt very fresh! Really great job on this one!
    Enjoyable sequel
HARD LUCK HANK: BASKETFUL OF CRAP is the sequel to SCREW THE GALAXY and returns us to Belvaille Station, the worst place in the galaxy to live. In fact, the station is completely different from the way it was before and there's a significant time-jump from the previous book. Gone are the gangs of Belvaille, who dominated the setting before, and replacing them are soulless corporations that took advantage of Hank's deal with the Confederation in order to produce goods illegal elsewhere but legal on the station.
I found this to be a clever bit of satire even it's not something that's the central focus of the plot. One of the things which a "pot-advocate" friend of mine fears is that, as soon as the legalities are worked out, corporations are going to destroy any of the local growers who are presently benefiting from its legalization in states like Colorado and Seattle.

    Loved it!
These books completely surprised me. I thought I was going to listen to a story about Woodberry's residents side of the experience, and what I got was a completely new story. They give us new characters to love and hate and new experiences for the characters we already love from the TV version of walking dead. I highly recommend these books!
Another amazing installment in the series
These books are coming out so quickly that you would think it would be impossible to keep them this well written but it isn't. I am a big fan of the show but the seasons have such few episodes and the wait between seasons is so long. I think I have come to appreciate the books even more than the show.
Love the series, but religious zealots?
I liked the first four a lot more. This one was pretty good, but my least favorite of the 5 books out. Just seemed too far of a stretch for me.
How did you like it? "Hold on a minute".......
I bought this without seeing any reviews because I liked the previous Woodbury books. This installment had too many points that made me go "Huh?" There were several points in the book where Bob was trying to get a point across to Lily, but going in such a slow meandering way, that she and I both nearly dozed off. The authors tried to hard to make a relationship between Lily and the newcomer Calvin. She miscarried about three weeks ago and his wife died a day or two ago, but they get it on in a dank hallway. Really? Lily's twin Ruger 22's are made to sound like the second coming of Dirty Harry when she wields them. The whole group risks their lives to save some strangers and manage to go 10 miles underground to get there, but Lily jumps out of a manhole cover without looking first and ends up in a zombie herd. Oh, and then she just kicks the manhole cover back into place, like they don't weigh 50-100 pounds.

Would you listen to The Champion again? Why?
I listen to it all the time. Work, home, in bed while I should be making sweet love my wife, it's always a good time to listen to the Dark Overlord.
What did you like best about this story?
It's easy to get lost in the GFL, I can't wait until it gets it's big break and sweeps Hollywood. I just hope Michael Bay doesn't take a hot steaming dump on it.
    Any additional comments?
    Buy the damn book.

The first novel from iconic X-Files star Gillian Anderson and New York Times best-selling author Jeff Rovin: a science fiction thriller of epic proportions.
Renowned child psychologist Caitlin O'Hara is a single mom trying to juggle her job, her son, and a lackluster dating life. Her world is suddenly upturned when Maanik, the daughter of India's ambassador to the United Nations, starts speaking in tongues and having violent visions. In Haiti, a student claws at her throat, drowning on dry land. In Iran, a boy suddenly and inexplicably sets himself on fire. Animals, too, are acting irrationally, from rats in New York City to birds in South America to ordinary house pets. With Asia on the cusp of nuclear war, Caitlin must race across the globe to uncover the mystical links among these seemingly unrelated incidents in order to save her patient - and perhaps the world.

    Much more than I expected
If you could sum up A Vision of Fire in three words, what would they be?
Great new story. This is a difference type of science fiction or science fantasy and it is amazing.
What other book might you compare A Vision of Fire to and why?
I would compare A Vision of Fire to saga books who allow the reader to get to know the characters before thrusting them into extreme conflict.
What does Gillian Anderson bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Gillian's tone, inflection, and voice are a perfect match for her book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't expect a whole lot from this book. To be honest, I bought it because of the author. However, I can't wait for the next one. Really looking forward to seeing how this series develops.
    Any additional comments?
Don't dismiss the book because of the author, and don't solely buy it because of the author. The book stands on its own. The conflict and storyline roll in slowly. Enjoy them in the same manner.
A Vision of Fire: A KILLER Debut Novel
I found it really well written, which I was expecting, and the story was twisty and hard to follow, which maybe some people would have a problem with, but it also made sense so I quite liked that aspect as well. The characters are very intriguing too, though some of the relationship aspect of it was a little too predictable, but there were still some interesting and unexpected turns even in that respite.
Something that I thought was very clear in the book, too, was the fact that it is one in a series and so not all will be resolved by the end of it.

    Members Reviews:
    Anti-hero beginnings.
I like how Cal thinks, he is devious and sarcastic, makes me laugh. While this book has funny parts the main emphasis is showing how Cal managed to have his life trashed so much that he became a D list supervillain. This book leaves you right where the Confessions of a D list Supervillain starts off. I had read Confessions quite some time ago and after listening to this book I went ahead and listened to it again. It was just as fun the second time around. If youre a fan of the internet show of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along, you will like this. Narrator is perfect for the character Cal, shows his dry sense of humor.
    Absolute page turner.
I couldn't put this one down. Great story and performance. I loved rooting for the anti-hero Cal Stringle.
BEING A VILLIAN IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU KNOW,
    BUT ABOUT WHO KNOWS YOU
There was a lot I liked about this. It is entertaining from start to finish. It is intelligently written. The main characters are not handsome or beautiful, The main character falls in love with a girl more because of her brain and personality than her looks. I especially like the fact that the main character has no powers that he was born with. His powers come from a suit he invented. He has to have a side job to get money to make his suit. Not everything goes as planned. Some might get bored with the details in what it takes to make a suit, but other than that it is all good. I liked this aspect of the story as it made it seem more real.
Kafer is a professional whose star is rising.
Everything the first book was and more!
Would you listen to Origins of a D-List Supervillain again? Why?
After the first book in the series finished I was really sad there wasn't a sequel. When I found Origins came out I was super excited! I loved every minute of it! I can't wait for the next book in the series. I wonder if Jim will abandon all other tasks in his life, so that we can get more of this series faster?
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I am normally not a fan of prequels, but this book changed my mind.

    Publisher's Summary:
For the first time, the Internet phenomenon is now in print! Beheading a zombie isn't easy in a world where you're more afraid of the living than the dead. Adrian Ring's simple life is thrown into chaos when the world is ripped apart by a plague of undead and legions of desperate survivors. Retreating to Auburn Lake Preparatory Academy, Adrian attempts to rescue friends and family on the way while dancing around his impending insanity over who and what he left behind, and evading maniac survivors. He saves his cat Otis, but shoots his mom. Pretty successful, all things considered.
Dark Recollections is the first part of Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named 'Mr. Journal", and through short stories that entwine with his tales that bring forth dark visions of a world being eaten alive by an unimaginable evil. Adrian's Undead Diary is an eight-part epic about a solitary, guilt-stricken man who didn't think he deserved to live, but realized very soon that he survived and suffered for a reason. Dark Recollections is the first book in the AUD series. It covers Adrian's journal entries from September 21st 2010, to December 1st, 2010. Intermingled with his personal diary entries, book one also contains the short stories "Phil's Story", "McGreevy's Report", and "Soccer Mom".

    Simply amazing
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you are a zombie fan at all, then you definitely need to check out Adrian's Undead Diary. Dark Recollections is the first book in the series and James Foster has done a WONDERFUL job at bringing Adrian to life for his listeners.
Who was your favorite character and why?
*AA meeting style:* Hi my name is Jamie and I have a crush on Adrian. Thank you.
What does James Foster bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Hearing Adrian talk about his daily adventures gives the reader the chance to sit back and imagine themselves in his shoes, fighting the undead alongside him, helping to find and secure a place to live after the world falls apart.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book (series) has made me laugh out loud, shed more than a few tears, get so mad I threw something, and so scared that I was afraid to hear what came next. Chris Philbrook has a way of getting into the mind of his readers, drawing them in and weaving through their grey matter until they are completely immersed in the world he has created.
    Any additional comments?
I am normally not a big audio book person, I prefer to read the words myself. However, James was able to catch my attention and keep me hooked throughout the story, which is quite a feat. Kudos to him, and to Chris for such a wonderful storyline!!
    northern exposure meets zombieland
    Any additional comments?
northern exposure meets zombieland? let me start with the northern exposure part. northern exposure was one of my favorite shows b/c it was odd and quirky with a great cast of characters, one of which was john corbett. he played a philosophical ex-convict who was a disc jockey and between songs, he'd comment on all kinds of things. his comments were funny and at times very insightful.

If you like post apocalyptic novels, you'll like this one.
Not a great novel, but worth the read. The story was good with a few unusual twist. It got a little stupid right at the end, But it was still fun to read.
    Predictable, un-entertaining and returned.
Very basic story that makes no sense, AT ALL! Not even worth a free credit. I made it through five chapters waiting for a reason to not return the selection. The most interesting story line ended after a sick nother leaves her kid with the main character. When she died so did the story.
    Great Series!
Another great new twist on the post apocalyptic genre! I'm loving the characters and AR Shaw does a wonderful job of telling the story through the eyes of everyone. Whether it's through the eyes of a canine, a 5 yr old boy or an 80 yr old and everyone in between. Every character has an important part. Mr Driml is also great at narrating for each of the character. I'm so looking fwd to the next book in the series.
    FOOD FOR THOUGHT
THOUGH FICTION, THIS STORY MADE ME QUESTION MY STATE OF PREPAREDNESS IN THE CASE OF THIS EVENTUALITY.
    Good but a little short
A good 3.5 post apocalyptic store. Filled with fairly sold carictors even though the prepers a a bit to perfectly prepared. I did feel the story is about 2 hours to short I usually hesitate using credits on anything shorter 10 hours but I used one other next story in the series and it's even shorter

    Publisher's Summary:
The stunningly creative, epic sequel to Wilson's blockbuster thriller and New York Times best seller Robopocalypse.
"The machine is still out there. Still live."
Humankind had triumphed over the machines. At the end of Robopocalypse, the modern world was largely devastated, humankind was pressed to the point of annihilation, and the Earth was left in tattersbut the master artificial intelligence presence known as Archos had been killed.
In Robogenesis, we see that Archos has survived. Spread across the far reaches of the world, the machine code has fragmented into millions of pieces, hiding and regrouping. In a series of riveting narratives, Robogenesis explores the fates of characters new and old, robotic and human, as they fight to build a new world in the wake of a devastating war. Listeners will bear witness as survivors find one another, form into groups, and react to a drastically different (and deadly) technological landscape. All the while, the remnants of Archos's shattered intelligence are seeping deeper into new breeds of machines, mounting a war that will not allow for humans to win again.
Daniel H. Wilson makes a triumphant return to the apocalyptic world he created, for an action-filled, raucous, very smart thrill ride about humanity and technology pushed to the tipping point.

Picks up right you where dropped off!
    Any additional comments?
The second book in the Robopocalypse series (maybe a 3rd) picks up right where you left off, but where you where dropped off wasn't what you thought. This book gave me the same excitement that I got out of the first book, and i'm hoping for a 3rd. If you are fan of near future Sci-Fi technology thrillers you have just looked at a review for one of the best.
    An okay story.
An okay story that mixes a bunch of different elements together. Biggest issue I had were there were a lot of lulls that made parts of it drag by.
Good book, not as good as the first one
Almost a re-imaging, I enjoyed it, but wasn't inspired to listen to it again. That said, I would probably buy a sequel to listen to.
A ride on the edge of your seat!
This is an amazing series about the struggle to survive in a world where robots and AI fight to eliminate the human-race. All the narrators do a great job of getting you really into the story. The way they express all types of situations with the inflections in their voice it's really awe-inspiring. I had moments on my train ride to work where I would scream out in response to a scene.
Good but not as good as the first.
I really really liked the first one and it's hard for me to pinpoint what wasn't so great about this book. It wasn't holding my attention like the first. Still a good book and I will continue to read the series.
