A few years ago I ran into a client that had paid off his own home before his 40th birthday.
Me being me I immediately asked him how he did this. His response was super simple.
1. He made principle and interest repayments over 15 years.
2. He contributed a little bit more out of his own pocket each week. 3. He bought one investment property, held it for 15 years and sold it for a profit.
After he paid the tax to the government he paid off the rest of the debt on his own property. Simple.
