Jessica Pin is an activist fighting for comprehensive and equitable coverage of the clitoral anatomy in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OB/GYN) textbooks. She recently appeared on The Daily Show holding a plastic clitoris (a first I believe!), although she finds it no laughing matter. Pin, who had labiaplasty when she was just 18 years old, believes that the dorsal nerves of her clitoris were unintentionally cut and fears that the rise of labiaplasty means that more women will be harmed by surgeons who are unaware of the superficial nerves and vasculature of the clitoris. We discuss her journey and all that needs to be considered before embarking on this surgery!
