Hoo boy everyone. This movie… But we’re remaking it! Better! Stronger! Faster! Less… problematic than it was before!

And this episode is inspired by our amazing guest Nick Jimenez (@nickmjimenez)! Nick and I had a lot to say about this movie. And we’re excited that we get to talk about it with other people.

We’re back for the start of Ideal Remake Season 5! And this episode we’re remaking The Mask!

Guest Adam Sheehan (@PeteZapitsa) is here to tell us the REAL story. The story that Hollywood didn’t WANT you to know. About a little man called Big Head.

We’re taking The Mask back to its comic roots and remaking this movie much more closely tied to the… incredibly violent comic it was originally adapted from!

No one asked for it…. SO HERE IT IS!!

Alex Caine (@FoodandHippos on IG) returns to Ideal Remake. He and I usually remake a video game movie, and for his fourth episode we’re already starting to run low! So ANGRY BIRDS IT IS!!

You might be thinking, but isn’t this a time for holiday movies? And yes. Yes it is. And this movie set on an island is super tropical and summery. Just like it is in the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE. So next time maybe think about THEM when you’re being all judgy about the holidays! YEESH!

Honestly this episode is super fun and you definitely do not need to have seen the movie to enjoy it!

Do we…. do we dare step into such hallowed ground? Do we dare try to remake the cinematic masterpiece that is Steven Spielberg’s ET the Extra-Terrestrial??

Well… it’s guest Yannis Zafeiriou’s favorite movie and he said that if it MUST be remade, then he shall fall on that sword! So Yannis (@Penguinyz on IG) and Josh Allen Goldman (@JoshAllenGoldman on IG) are here to see if we can take these Reece’s Pieces and make a Reece’s Whole!

And also we’re gonna remake ET because WHY NOT!

We’ve discussed Landworld, Airworld, and the highly controversial Plasmaworld, so the time has come at last to discuss WATERWORLD!!

Did I know in advance that we’d be remaking two dystopian movies this month? Nope! But they’re in the process of creating a Waterworld TV show, so the time for this discussion has come!

Luckily I don’t have to step into this terrifying world alone! Mad Max Minutes’ AMAZING hosts Julia and Rick Ingham (@MadMaxMinute) help me navigate this post-apocalyptic hellscape crafted out of the modern world’s trash. There’s a metaphor in their for this movie, but I don’t know what it is!

ALSO! Note that we viewed the Ulysses cut AND discussed the original 1991 screenplay!
