We did it. We made the joke.

And not only did we make that joke, we also REMADE Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb! I don’t know that I’d have tackled a Kubrick movie, but Dillon Magrann-Wells (@DillonMW) insisted! And this was a fun, if harrowing, conversation to have!

When we remake these movies, the first question I am often asked is “Does this movie hold up?” And I can tell you that Dr. Strangelove holds up a little TOO well…

You’ve heard of Sunset Boulevard! (The movie, not the road. Although, well, also the road!) But did you know that Billy Wilder saw that movie as a pair with his 1978 movie Fedora?

Ideal Remake is BACK for Season 4! And we’ve joined the podcasting network Dueling Genre! How will this affect the show? Not at all! But I’m excited to collaborate with other Dueling Genre shows in the future/past depending on when you’re listening!

This week we’re joined by fantastic director and producer Thomai Hatsios! Thomai was the first person to ever cast me in something out here, and we’ve been friends ever since!

When I reached out to Thomai, she said she wanted to remake Pretty Woman! And that’s what we did!

I had never seen this movie. In many ways it exceeded my expectations, and in many ways it fell very short of them. So today we’re remaking this movie and learning maybe a billionaire can’t solve all your problems?
