Ideal Remake

It’s the time of year where things get a little too scary for Sam. Luckily he has friends like Scott Carelli (@ScottCarelli) and Nick Jimenez (@nickmjimenez) to take over the podcast and really give those teens what they deserve!

Wait… no… I mean remake Friday the 13th!

We’re talking about that staple horror move that everyone, except Sam, has seen! And we’re bringing all the slashing, blood, gore, and dead camp counsellors you could ask for!

Did you know that Rankin-Bass made stop motion animation movies that WEREN’T all Christmas-themed? I didn’t! But today’s returning guest Caumera (@Caumera on IG) introduced me to an absolutely delightful movie from 1967!

In Mad Monster Party? the famed Dr. Frankenstein is retiring and decides to throw one last bash with all his monster friends. And at the bash he will hand over the reign of the Worldwide Organization of Monsters and his ENTIRE legacy to a successor!

And then Dr. Frankenstein pulls a clickbait and says, “Watch till the end to see the successor. The answer will surprise you!” Wow Doc. That’s a real evil move!

Hmmm… these are the conundrums…

Sam, Sam, and Dianne are going to be remaking this American classic in today’s episode of Ideal Remake. And you KNOW that they’re going to Stay Gold!

Be careful listening to this episode! If the podcast stops for even a second, it’ll EXPLODE! Clearly this week we’re remaking the absolutely bananas action movie: Speed!

Joined by first-time guest Brock Powell (@brocktocks), we figure out exactly how to pull off a high speed bus catastrophe movie that, at the very least, starts in Los Angeles!

Do Brock and I have what it takes to set up a terrifying death-trap bus AND get the passengers off of it safely? And how many people will we endanger to get it done?? Find out on this week’s Ideal Remake!

And all Kevin Mosteller (@KMostellerMusic) and I want to do is put on the greatest air show this town has ever seen! And what’s this we’ve found, abandoned in a plane in our hanger? Why this is no ordinary vacuum cleaner! Why this is a regular rocket pack!

Put this on and we can become…. THE ROCKETEER!!

And we’ll use this new high-flying tool to have an adventure and stop the worst kind of monster the world can imagine: An actor!

We’re all just lovers of art here. Sure, some of us love art so much that it inspires us to painstakingly recreate art in the style of the some of the greatest masters the craft has ever known. And then sell that art. For a lot of money. But we only do that because we LOVE art! So much!

Looks like Corsica Wilson (@corsicajeanne) will have to help us remake this Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole classic!

Water! Earth! Fire! Air! Long Ago these elements lived in harmony. But everything changed when the Darkness attacked! Only The Fifth Element can master Love and stop it, but 300 years ago she vanished! But everything changed when a taxi driver discovered a new Fifth Element, a young woman named Leeloo. And although her language skills are poor, and she has a lot to learn before she can save anyone, I believe that Leeloo can save the world!

So anyway Tanner (@SparkyUpstart) is here to remake The Fifth Element!

You’ve gathered them all. From the one-star ball to the seven-star ball. They’re all here. You raise your hands to sky. “RISE SHENRON! And grant my wish!” BOOM! A MASSIVE dragon bursts forth! His voice rumbles across the countryside. “Speak your wish.” And then you do it. You wish for an Ideal Remake of the Dragonball Evolution movie. Shenron’s eyes glow. “It is Done.” The seven dragon balls rise into the air, and, with an explosion of light, scatter across the world, waiting for the next traveler to find them.

So… wow! Flattering! Your one wish (pre-Dende) on this? Well… then here we go! I hope Norman (@nkmitch42) and Sam (@SamGasch) don’t disappoint!

We’re doing what everyone is doing all the time these days… talking about the News! And in this case, we’re talking about Broadcast News!

Dianne Bloom (@dibster) returns to the podcast to remake this Holly Hunter, Albert Brooks, and William Hurt movie that, frankly, Sam should have seen a LONG time ago. Because it’s great! But how has the news changed? What has broadcast news become?? We’ll discuss all that and more in this week’s episode!

And that’s the way it is!
