Ideal Remake

For years this movie confused people into thinking she was a Disney princess. And then… corporate mergers and capitalistic shenanigans… and now she IS! (sorta)

We’re talking about Anastasia! And today Sam is joined by Kestra and Andrew Darowski from the Disney Animation Minute Essentials podcast! (@disminute on Instagram)

Do we have some ideas for how to reboot this movie and get Once Upon a December out of our heads? Maybe! But you’ll have to listen and find out for yourself!

It’s PODCASTIN’ TIME!!

Nick Jimenez (@nickmjimenez) returns to Ideal Remake so that we can take a look at 1995’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie! It’s a shot of nostalgia for both Nick and Sam. They both watched this show like CRAZY when they were kids! And also maybe a little now? WHO KNOWS!!

But it’s time to talk about Billy! And Kimberly! And Tommy! And Aisha, Rocky, and Adam! And, mostly important of all, Alpha 5!

Do you ever wake up in bed and feel like you don’t even remember who you are? Do you ever feel like things aren’t where you put them? Do you remember how to get to Shell Beach? When was the last time you saw the sun?

If all these questions make a certain kind of sense, then maybe you’re already living in Dark City!

And if not, then Connor Buhagiar and Sam Gasch are ready to help you get to know who you truly are.

We’re back for Season Six! You thought we were trapped within a prison of podcast hiatuses, but we ESCAPED! With nothing more than Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, and the full might of the American military industrial complex!

And Michael Bay was there too.

And of course, there was only one possible guest for this particular job. Chris O’Connor (@chrisoconnoriv) returns for all the remaking glory, guns, and explosions!

It’s the Ideal Remake season 5 finale! And we have to go out in a bang! Something world shaking! Like a… multi-podcast crossover! A Crisis on Infinite Dueling Genres!!

Or, for simplicity’s sake, I could invite Scott Carelli (@ScottCarelli), Adam Sheehan (@PeteZapitsa), and Andrew Darowski (@Andrew_Darowski) onto the show to help me start the DC slate of movies all over again.

We’re doing an Ideal Remake of the DC movie franchise! Or really, we’re doing SEVEN potential remakes of the slate of DC movies! And you’re not going to want to miss a single one!

I knew she was trouble from the moment she walked in here, to the IRS, and tried to donate over $200 million. Again, to the IRS. Is this woman NUTS?? No, she’s just grieving! And we’re going to find out why!

Connor Pritchard (Workaholics, Let’s Get Physical) joins Ideal Remake to step back to 1964 and look at a movie starring Shirley MacLaine, Dick Van Dyke, Dean Martin, Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, Bob Cummings, and Gene Kelly! Some of them might even make it out alive!

This is a zany movie and fun episode. Check it out!

ROUND ONE….. FIGHT!

Alex Caine (@foodandhippos on Instagram) and I have a history of remaking video game movies. We were always intimidated by the expansive cast of Street Fighter… until now!

We watched this movie and absolutely LOVED it! It is so silly and fun and everyone is having an amazing time! So why not capture that while also staying a little closer to the original video game? I think that’s exactly what we did!

You Win!

Do you like disaster movies? What about a disaster movie that is ALL of the other disaster movies rolled up into one?

Katelyn Rodgers (@silver_screen_bridal on IG) returns to the show to talk about The Wandering Earth! Katelyn was first inspired to watch this movie after seeing the incredible costumes Wētā Workshop was making. And as a bonus, she got a movie that was absolutely bonkers!

Sam found the movie on a list. Which is good too, I guess.

They had an incredible time watching this movie, talking about it, and remaking it. And now we get to share that with you!
