Ideal Remake

When Disney takes live action and blends it with 2-D animation, we get something very special. But we’re not talking Mary Poppins today, it’s time for Bedknobs and Broomsticks!

I knew that I could trust such die-hard Disney fans like Isabella Egizi and Bethany Huwe (@babyhuwe), to help me build this thing back up!

This movie ain’t great, but we thing it should absolutely get remade because it CAN be! All the pieces are there!

And we had fun talking about it! Just… don’t wiggle your nose. It scares me.

If we had to get stuck recording one podcast over and over again for 10,000 years, we’re glad it was this one. It’s the original Groundhog Day-scenario, it’s Groundhog Day!

This week my guests who are really gonna GO places (they get it), it’s Dillon Magrann-Wells (@DillonMW) and Toby Parker-Flett! Toby and Dillon both work at The Hatchery in Los Angeles, a really cool spot for writers to both learn and write!

But Groundhog Day. What can be said about this movie other than that it is AMAZING AND PERFECT AND DON’T EVER REMAKE IT??

Honestly? A LOT! And don’t be nervous, we got you, babe.

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… this week’s episode of Ideal Remake!

For episode 20 we’re talking about a very special, not just movie, but franchise! Superman! Joined by Chris Lord (@Lordopher) from @timmtalkpod

Now, this happens to be a long episode, but it’s one of my favorites because I really do think we came up with an AMAZING Superman arc. Do you agree? Disagree? Tell us on Facebook! I want to have this debate!

Shout out to all my peeps who have that opening theme song permanently stuck in their heads!

It’s Barbarella! (bar-bar-barella. GRRR GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!)

Joining me are two of my oldest friends in the world Brad Bultman (@BradfordStudios) and Claire Mulkerin (@ClaireMulkerin)! I’ve known these two nerds since highschool. Claire was my first DM. Or is it GM? I dunno. But she is also the one who taught me that Savage Worlds is WAY better than D&D. DEAL WITH IT NERDS!!

And Claire wanted to talk about Barbarella, so we are talking about this sci-fi “classic”! And boy did we have a lot to say.

Barbarella bar-bar-barella ba ba. Barella! bar-bar-barella!

Is this the podcast destined to save us all? Is this podcast… the ONE??

Well, Trinity only likes this podcast as a friend, so we guess not.

We’re talking THE MATRIX! Scuttlebutt in the air is that a Matrix reboot might be coming down the pipeline so Sam (@samgasch) sits down with comedy LEGENDS Laser M. Webber (@LaserMWebber) and Meredith Hackman (@Big_Mer)! (Editor’s Note: Apologies for the use of a dead name while recording, at the time of recording, Laser was not yet out.)

The Matrix is an amazing movie, but what if it were made today? Would they have even BIGGER cell phones? Only one way to find out, give us a listen!
