Despite being Vancouver’s cornerstone forward, Elias Pettersson has seen unexpectedly low minutes under Adam Foote — and it’s something the Canucks simply can’t afford.

According to recent analysis, Pettersson ranked 8th among Canucks forwards in 5-on-5 ice time through two periods of a recent game, logging just 7:39 — and even after special teams, he trailed many peers.
