In the final episode of Season 1, Nat speaks with Erin Bagwell. A documentary film maker, a blogger and a mom, Erin launched her second documentary this May - Year One. Year One follows Erin during her first year of motherhood. Intimate, honest and at some points heart wrenching, Erin explores identity shifts, navigating postpartum depression and as she puts it 'the extraordinary moments of being a mom.'
Nat and Erin talked about vulnerability, asking for help and what moms can actually go through - that so many people never see.
If you are struggling or feeling like this new journey is not what you had expected Erin's website has a whole host of resources you can access.

In this weeks episode, Natalie talks to two incredible women. Hilary struggled for 5 years to grow her family with her husband. When the losses were too much for her body, and her heart, they embarked on a remarkable journey of Surrogacy.
After a unique share on social media, the lives of acquaintances Hilary & Jacqueline intersected in a heartwarming and totally Extra way - resulting in the ride of a lifetime for both of them.
These women share an incredibly personal story about the logistics, legalities & love all woven together in a surrogacy.
Thank you to Hilary Rivett, Jacqueline Paton-Boyle and their families for sharing this story.

In this weeks episode, we are thrilled to announce a new addition! Nat Buchanan has officially joined us as a Guest Host! Listen in to learn what she'll be talking about and when you can hear from her!
With her wealth of knowledge and experience she brings a unique perspective to discussions everywhere from fertility, to pregnancy to motherhood. As a Doula, Nat believes that knowledge is power, and in the complicated and confusing road to building a family, that knowledge can support families to do what feels right. In her first episode, she speaks to friend & sister-in-law Jamie, who after two C-sections advocated for herself to deliver her third bundle of joy via VBAC.
Jamie is strong and driven and her story of the trauma she experienced with her previous births, motivated her to reflect on what she wanted, and fight for it.
Jamie & Nat have a great conversation about the power of each woman's choice. Not doctors, or medical professionals, they are sharing their experience with the tough stuff and the overwhelming pride that comes from doing your homework and sticking up for yourself.

Mama, BFF & powerhouse Natalie Buchanan is on today to talk REAL. On her journey to become a Doula she has learned so much about fertility, pregnancy and motherhood, and I wanted to know what in her life inspired her to explore something totally outside of her professional lane. She discusses her own health challenges, how her pregnancies differed, how she finally advocated for herself and how that experience inspired her quest to become a Doula.
With intentions to support families in all different parts of the Doula industry, she had questions for me about how to support those suffering through a miscarriage. She also wanted all the details, like ALL of them. So it's a long one, it's a detailed one but hopefully its an informative one, helping those who've never experienced with tools that can assist them in supporting others.
Follow Natalie for all the realness that is fertility, pregnancy, birth & postpartum @natalb_doula
This week on the podcast, Jaclyn discusses the trauma of a miscarriage. An isolating, traumatic experience effecting so many women (and men!) in this country, and around the world. Her feelings both physical and emotional were challenging to experience, and doing so inside a pandemic makes it even more trying.
She shares what happened but more importantly all the feels before, during and after. PLUS what helped her and her husband make it through.
*this episode discusses topics that could be triggering for someone experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss or miscarriage. Please be gentle with yourself and turn this episode off if it becomes too overwhelming.
We are back in action, and to start 2021 - we figured we'd share all our dirty laundry. Just Kidding - we're sharing where we've been, why we've been away, what we've learned about ourself during the period off, and how we plan to show up here moving forward. It may be a little different, but we think it will be richer for our own growth, and hopefully for yours. We defined our version of 'care for self', talked about taking time for yourself and the impact that has on the people around you. Jaclyn finally identified that she is a 'doer' in a not-so-healthy way, and wants to recover from the ways she used to 'do'. PLUS she shares all about the health struggles she’s currently having and the tole it's taking on her both physically and mentally. There is a lot of growing going on over here and we’re sharing as much as we can in real time. Enjoy our chaos! Endometriosis - send us an email at [email protected] to tell us everything you know that has and hasn't worked about Endometriosis!
This week we're sharing a conversation had with our therapist. Gillian is passionate about helping people where they are at, supporting them and teaching them how to be the experts of their own life experiences.
With a refreshing perspective on her role as a therapist, and the role of therapy as an industry, she guides us through our questions about societal norms, navigating complicated emotions (with the help of an emotion wheel - find an example of one linked here), and how important it is to find a therapist that will sit in the passenger seat while you pilot your life!
Gillian Saunders is a registered therapist who councils women, men and families through crisis, trauma and every day life stressors. Her clinic U Therapy does virtual appointments, from the comfort of your home. She can be reached at [email protected].
