West End stars Alice Fearn and Simon Bailey join us for a very special, double trouble episode!
Alice and Simon are both part of the workshop cast of
Footballers Wives, and feature on the musical's cast recording which is out now.
Footballers Wives has a book by Maureen Chadwick, co-creator of the original TV series, with music and lyrics by Kath Gotts. Alice and Simon play Tanya and Jason Turner.
The duo are also set to perform a concert together,
The Last (1)5 Years at the Theatre Cafe on Sunday 4th December. Alice and Simon will perform songs from
Footballers Wives alongside some other musical theatre numbers and Christmas tunes.
Alice and Simon first met when they were part of the West End production of
Les Miserables for the 21st anniversary at the Queen's (now Sondheim) Theatre. Alice was understudying Fantine and Cosette with Simon playing Enjolras.
Alice is currently playing Beverley Bass in
Come From Away (Phoenix Theatre), following an acclaimed run as Elphaba in
Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre). Her credits also include: Nancy in
Oliver! (Watermill Theatre), Renee and understudy Christine/Muriel in
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Savoy Theatre), Gingy/Sugar Plum Fairy and understudy Princess Fiona in
Shrek The Musical (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), understudy Dolly in
Annie Get Your Gun (Young Vic), Rapunzel and understudy Cinderella in
Into The Woods (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre) and understudy Laura in
The Woman in White (Palace Theatre).
Simon recently completed his run as The Duke in the original West End production of
Moulin Rouge (Piccadilly Theatre). His West End credits also include:
Heathers (Theatre Royal Haymarket & London workshop), Tommy DeVito in
Jersey Boys (Piccadilly Theatre & UK Tour), Liam O’Deary in
I Can’t Sing! (London Palladium), Pharaoh in
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Gillian Lynne), understudy Galileo in
We Will Rock You (Dominion), Raoul in
The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s),
Passion (Donmar Warehouse) and
Romeo & Juliet The Musical (Piccadilly).
Alice previously did an episode of In The Frame with Adrian Hansel last year during season four, whilst Simon recorded our 100th episode earlier this year as part of season six.
