Today's conversation features Joe Wiens, Wiens Cellars.

Joe features twice in this series for two different projects, both in Temecula, Southern California, where I visited in June 2025 at the invitation of Temecula Wines. Joe shows that the Winery Fingerprint model can uncover something quite different, even for the same person at different wineries.

With the two projects reflecting the choice offered by Temecula, these two episodes show how projects within the same region can attract different audiences. And give visitors a reason to visit both.

Hearing his origin story we get a sense of both his deeper motivations and twists and turns on the way. But as you will hear, I believe to break through the noise more effectively they need something much sharper.

Brick House should be a familiar name, not just because of their stellar wines, but because Brick House founder Doug Tunnell is a two-time Interpreting Wine guest.

With Savannah having now taken the reins of the operation there is naturally a period of adaptation. A fascinating time to reflect on what made the brand so successful in the first place and what it aspires to be going forward.
