John L Pearson emailed: "Marc!! I often use March to dig through my own archives of Celtic music, and I celebrate long - distance with a great friend who is a Celtic jewelry maker I met at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival way more than a decade ago!

I love the podcast, and can't remember right off the last new fav I heard on the podcast. In the last year or two I really got into Shane Henessey's guitar stuff—not sure if I heard it on your podcast or elsewhere.

But I also pull out old favs. The Waterboys Room to Roam. Maybe not quite celtic, but a couple of the early bands had that flavor.

And I'll put on some Great Big Sea—though sadly they aren't around anymore, Alan Doyle is still out there making music. And when I really feel the need to get up and dance, I thrown on some Natalie MacMaster. And then when I'm tired and need to get contemplative over a green beer (at least metaphorically green) I'll put on some Loreena McKennitt.

Stan Berry emailed: "Good morning from Northern Alberta. I just got back from another trip into the wilds of Northern British Columbia. It snowed last week while I was driving up but cleared up in a couple of days leaving everything very wet and sloppy. There must have been over 100 pounds of mud on my vehicle. The bears are out and I have seen a couple of black bears along the roads. The bush is very dry this year and one place where I normally see trumpeter swans and other aquatic birds is completely dry. I will include a couple of photographs from this time last year. There is great concern about the potential wildfire situation this summer.

I truly enjoy listening to the podcasts while I drive. Unfortunately, I have been unable to download the last couple of them. Has there been a change in the way they are posted?

Please give my warmest regards to your family. I regret that I was unable to journey to the states this spring as there have been a number of changes on behalf of some of my clients."

Thank you Carl for writing. I really appreciate the feedback. As I emailed when you wrote, I am still testing the ads. I have decided I don't prefer them at the beginning of the show. So at present, at least, I'm not doing that. As I continue to test, I will only have them at the end of the show.

Right now, I am leaning on the idea of keeping those on the show. Because even a little bit of money helps with finances. But I will make a final decision in July or August when I should have some better understanding of the results of my tests.

Big fan & patron with an Android problem - Google Podcasts has gone away, annoyingly (just a few short years after they killed Google Listen and forced everyone to migrate there). I see that the "Listen on Google Podcasts" button on celticmusicpodcast.com now redirects to podcastaddict.com, so I guess that this sunsetting of that podcast app is probably not news to you. However, I've tentatively replaced Google Podcasts as my podcast app, not with podcastaddict, but with what Google / Android suggested as a replacement, YouTube Music. I imported all of my podcasts, and they are all working the same way as before the change, except for The Irish & Celtic Music Podcast.

Searching YouTube Music for "irish & celtic music podcast" on YouTube Music brings up these search results, of which one looks like the right one, this result. However, that podcast doesn't seem to have the correct shows - the most recent one is from 2023; I'm not able to listen to Red - Haired Bully Boys #657 or Plant Your Boots For Freedom #656 at that link.

I'm sure you're busy, but just wondering if you had any insight into this. It's worth mentioning that, if I understand correctly, this app doesn't require people's podcasts to be hosted on YouTube - I'm listening to the Savage Lovecast, for example, just as I usually do, and I don't think Dan has moved his show archive over to YouTube; I'm just using YouTube Music to listen to his regular, free podcast XML feed like usual. Anyway, thanks for taking the time and for all the work that you're doing."

My favorite moment was right after we finished….a gent from Ireland came up to me, thanked me/us for bringing such joy all around and working so hard….and he wanted to give a little back. He then took my hand and sang a Gaelic song to me. It was moving. Nothing like the Irish spirit to lift you up. Thanks for keeping the spirit alive brother."

Here is a pic of myself (accordion), my sister Lilly Cart (bodrhan), and my 3rd cousin Heather MacIsaac performing a concert of Irish songs and tunes at the Antigonish Heritage Museum, the former train station in my hometown. The acoustics are great in this space and there was a full crowd. Volunteers from the Heritage Association provided tea, juice, and snacks for the attendees. We did a number of sing - alongs and there were lots of moments when the crowd joined us on beautiful choruses. A great time! "

Dàimh at the Town Crier in Beacon, NY and Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones at the Rambling House in the Bronx. The lighting at Rambling House was a bit harsh and didn't agree with my phone, so I've only included two photos. Both bands sounded excellent. I might be checking out the other version of the Wolfe Tones (the one led by Derek's brother) later this week and will send photos if I make it. Thanks for your wonderful podcast.

St Patricks week will be a fun one for us with a little festival in Northampton MA on March 9 then on the 15th we are opening for the Dublin City Ramblers at the Colony Theatre in Woodstock NY. Next night in the Berkshires at the Heritage House in Lenox MA. We end the season as usual at Brennan's on the Holyoke Parade route with all 5 original members for our 20th year!

Stout Pounders is my band and you know us. We will be celebrating by playing several gigs, starting with a show on March 10 in Spokane, WA at the Knitting Factory with the legendary Young Dubliners. So if you could add one of our songs and one of theirs to your podcast list that would be great!!! We have a newer live album streaming on all major platforms that I submitted to you a little while ago, but anything you like of ours is fine by me.

We will also be Headlining a show March 14 at the Spanish Ballroom at the McMenamins Elk Temple location in Tacoma with an opening band called Slainte and accompanied by the Seattle Irish Dance Company who will be dancing throughout the evening to the band's songs and in between. Will be a heck of a Pre - Paddy's Party.

We play Shawn O'Donnell's Everett location on Friday the 15th, The Blarney Stone Pub in Seattle on the 16th, and March 17 THE BIG DAY we are the band for the 40th Anniversary of Seattle's longest running (pun intended) 5K St. Paddy's Day Dash. The later that day back at O'Donnell's in Everett to cap off the day and week of fun.
