Oregon Football could have more of a competition at QB than many thought. After Ty Thompson took first-team snaps at a recent Spring practice, is there really a chance that the former 5-star recruit could beat out Bo Nix for the starting job? Duck fans have long been clamoring for Ty Thompson to get a chance to start for the Ducks, so is he really getting a chance to earn the starting job? It might be too soon to know for sure, but there's reason to think that might not be the case.

Spencer is joined by Mike Black of the 'Ducks and Dawgs' podcast to weigh in on the current state of the quarterback position for Oregon Football ahead of the Spring Game on April 23rd. Bo Nix came in as a transfer, while Ty Thompson and Jay Butterfield were recruited to Eugene out of high school. He argues that it's almost impossible for Ty Thompson to be Oregon's staring QB for 2022. Is there anything different between a transfer and a high school recruit in the eyes of the coaches?

After not getting a QB commit from high school in the Class of 2022, how much of a priority should recruiting a young signal-caller be for Dan Lanning and co. in the Class of 2023?
