Life must go on after a loved one dies. Somehow we must pick ourselves up and keep moving forward. It's probably the hardest thing you'll ever do but at some point, grief must turn into fuel so you can honour them by living your best life, dedicating everything you do in their memory. The other option is to turn to gambling, crime, partying, drugs and alcohol and that's not a good place to be. The further you travel down that path, the harder it is to recover.
.
Don't let loss turn you into something you're not. It's not what they would want you to do. Make them proud by being your best self because that's what they would want.
.
Honour them every single day.
A lot of men are unhappy because they dabble and quit at the first sign of hardship. They have a plan B mentality and they have a safety net.
.
Nothing worthwhile is easy. Building confidence and self esteem isn't easy but neither is living life as a quitter or a dabbler. Choose your hardship.
.
Play the long game, take the long road and give up dabbling in every new flavour of the month just because it's popular. Following the heard is an average existence and you're not here to be average. You're here to win, achieve and succeed, growing and evolving into your best self as a result.
Life is full of risk and if you don't learn how to mitigate risk you'll never do extraordinary things. You can't spend your life under your security blanket seeking security. It doesn't exist. You're here to be all you can be, not blend in with the timid masses.
.
Listen as I give you examples of how and when to mitigate risk, especially when it comes to entrepreneurship, so you can live your best life.
I get it, we all want to go out into the world and make a great first impression. Whether we're doing business, looking for a potential mate or meeting someone for the first time. We're always going to hide our dark side ( yes, we all have one ) from the world because we don't want to turn people off, or turn them away. But remember, other people are doing the same and con men and women are great and looking sharp and being charismatic. They tell you what you want to hear and they always look sharp.
.
It's your job to always do your due diligence. It's not on people to be honest. It's on you to cover your own ass because no body cares, no one's coming to save you. Don't judge people on their appearances, judge people on their depth of character and that means digging a little deeper, being patient and watching what they do. Play the fool to catch a fool. Watch what people do, don't judge on how good they look or what they're telling you. Never trust the spoken word.
In part two of Taking Ownership, I want to talking more about being at peace with your past, whether you were to blame or not.
.
Ownership isn't about sweeping things under the carpet or suppressing feelings. That's the opposite of taking ownership. You're hiding from your demons who continue to control you. Ownership is about forgiving yourself, forgiving others, seeing things as they are and accepting what happened. Ownership means owning it and using it to fuel your process. It's about using it as armour. It's about taking your epic back story and using it to help others.
.
In this episode I want to show you how I took ownership. It wasn't easy to accept what happened but I can't go around being angry for the rest of my life. I forgave the people concerned and moved on because I have too much life to live and too much to be grateful for.
.
Stop playing small with your life. The best revenge is success and doing the difficult work of growing from the inside out is not for the weak minded but if you persist, you'll realise you and your limiting beliefs is what's really holding you back.
What ever happened to you is a result of the way you were thinking at the time, the choices you made and the action you took. There's no point holding on to it, let it go. Learn to use it as fuel to help propel you further along your path so you can grow, evolve and live your best life. Learn from the mistake, remember the lesson.
.
Even if it wasn't your fault, own it. It allows you to forgive people and it allows you to forgive yourself. It brings peace and when you're at peace, you sleep better at night.
.
You can't change what happened. Own the good, the bad and the ugly. Learn from it, keep moving forward so you can finish strong.
It's not an easy game to play. Meeting someone for the first time can be exciting and it's easy to be seduced by things like money, cars, job titles, charm and charisma but those things are shallow. It is not a true indicator of someone's depth of character. Lean to dig deeper. See what makes people tick, their habits and their patterns.

Getting over a break up, losing someone you love is a painful experience. Holding on to it longer than you really should, wishing things were different only causes you more pain. You end up being bitter, negative and not a nice person to be around.
.
Let me share wisdom from life experience to help you overcome the pain of losing someone you love so you can move forward living your best life. In fact, the same principle can be applied to any situation where you experience temporary defeat.
.
See people as they are, not as you wished they were. See situations and events as they are, not as you wished they were.
Before you go out there and get diagnosed with mental health issues, get medicated by big pharma and complain about how terrible your life is, have a good long hard look at yourself and ask yourself are you living life with purpose and meaning? Do you know who you are? Have you programmed your own mind or are you letting other people do the programming? Are you living life through other people's expectations? Have you done the difficult work of facing your own soul?
.
Men cannot stand a meaningless life. It eventually makes them very unwell, not only in the body, but in the mind as well. Happy men, unbreakable men, are people who take ownership, live with passion and purpose, their life has meaning and they do things with a sense of urgency. The gave up living through other people's expectations, they programmed their own mind and they started living their best life.
.
It's time for you to do the same.
