The Clown Boss is back with his first interview of 2025! He’s speaking with teacher, improviser and comedy philosopher James Mastraieni! James has reached the highest levels of success at various major theaters – but has also battled management at every one, in an effort to maintain his authentic voice and honor his beliefs. He now runs his own classes and shows through The Shared Experience Studio.

Chad and James talk about their different performance philosophies and find they share a ton of common ground. Also, lots of talk about anti-capitalism, old stories and how to connect with audiences with or without a fourth wall.

KEEP UP WITH THE CLOWN BOSS!

STAND UP AND CLOWN (the show) will be back at the end of February! Chad is also making a trip to Toronto in February to do shows and classes at SWEET ACTION THEATRE on Valentine’s Day weekend.

All of Chad’s LA February classes are sold out, but you still sign up for his DISRUPTOR: INTRO TO CLOWN CLASS at UCB the weekend of 3/01-02. He’ll also be teaching a two-day intensive later in the month at the Elysian theater.
