The Tampa Bay Rays surprised its fandom by signing lefty starter and ex-relief pitcher Jeffrey Springs to a 4-year deal worth $31 million. His contract could be worth up to $65.75 million if all incentives are met as well as the 2027 team option is picked up. Jeffrey Springs was a revelation in the 2022 season joining the rotation putting up a 2.46 ERA in 135 innings pitched with 144 strikeouts. His 5.60 BB% and 26.2K% along with his 147 ERA+ made him one of the most underrated starters of the 2023 season.
