Jimmy Santiago Baca had a troubled upbringing, finding himself behind bars at only 17 years old. Whilst incarcerated, he discovered the power of knowledge and taught himself how to read. Jimmy began writing poetry and following his release, went on to become a world renowned poet, author and screenplay writer.
