SUBMISSION TO THE AUTHORITIES

(0:08) Let everyone submit to the governing authorities, since there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God (0:16) Jedermann sei untertan der Obrigkeit, die Gewalt über ihn hat. Denn es ist keine Obrigkeit ohne von Gott; wo aber Obrigkeit ist, die ist von Gott verordnet (0:28) Sométase toda persona a las autoridades superiores, (0:40) porque no hay autoridad que no provenga de Dios; y las que hay, por Dios han sido constituidas.

(0:46) So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God's command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves (0:53) Wer sich nun der Obrigkeit widersetzt, der widerstrebt Gottes Ordnung; die aber widerstreben, werden über sich ein Urteil empfangen (1:03) Así que, el que se opone a la autoridad, se opone a lo constituido por Dios; y los que se oponen recibirán condenación para sí mismos.

(1:11) For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. (1:50) Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval (1:55) Denn die Gewaltigen sind nicht den guten Werken, sondern den bösen zu fürchten. Willst du dich aber nicht fürchten vor der Obrigkeit, so tue Gutes, so wirst du Lob von ihr haben (2:06) Porque los gobernantes no están para infundir el terror al que hace lo bueno, sino al que hace lo malo. ¿Quieres no temer a la autoridad? Haz lo bueno y tendrás su alabanza;

(2:15) For it is God's servant for your good (2:33) But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. (3:20) For it is God's servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong (2:26) Denn sie ist Gottes Dienerin dir zu gut. (2:43) Tust du aber Böses, so fürchte dich; denn sie trägt das Schwert nicht umsonst; sie ist Gottes Dienerin, eine Rächerin zur Strafe über den, der Böses tut (2:56) porque es un servidor de Dios para tu bien. Pero si haces lo malo, teme; porque no lleva en vano la espada; pues es un servidor de Dios, un vengador para castigo del que hace lo malo.

(3:07) Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath but also because of your conscience (3:47) Darum ist's not, untertan zu sein, nicht allein um der Strafe willen, sondern auch um des Gewissens willen (3:58) Por lo cual, (4:26) es necesario que estéis sujetos, no solamente por razón del castigo, sino también por motivos de conciencia.

(4:07) And for this reason you pay taxes, since the authorities are God's servants, continually attending to these tasks (4:14) Derhalben müßt ihr auch Schoß geben; denn sie sind Gottes Diener, die solchen Schutz handhaben (4:18) Porque por esto pagáis también los impuestos, pues los gobernantes son ministros de Dios que atienden a esto mismo.

(4:52) Pay your obligations to everyone: (5:26) taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor (5:02) So gebet nun jedermann, was ihr schuldig seid: Schoß, dem der Schoß gebührt; Zoll, dem der Zoll gebührt; Furcht, dem die Furcht gebührt; Ehre, dem die Ehre gebührt (5:15) Pagad a todos lo que debéis: al que tributo, tributo; al que impuesto, impuesto; al que respeto, respeto; al que honra, honra.

FULFILLING THE LAW THROUGH LOVE

(0:39) Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law (0:47) Seid niemand nichts schuldig, als daß ihr euch untereinander liebt; (6:48) denn wer den andern liebt, der hat das Gesetz erfüllt (0:55) No debáis a nadie nada, salvo el amaros unos a otros; (6:58) porque el que ama al prójimo ha cumplido la ley.

(1:01) The commandments: (1:44) Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not covet; and any other commandment, are summed up by this commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself (1:12) Denn was da gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen; (1:55) du sollst nicht töten; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst nicht falsch Zeugnis geben; dich soll nichts gelüsten", und so ein anderes Gebot mehr ist, das wird in diesen Worten zusammengefaßt: "Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst." (1:31) Porque los mandamientos--no cometerás adulterio, no cometerás homicidio, no robarás, no codiciarás, y cualquier otro mandamiento--(2:13) se resumen en esta sentencia: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.

(2:26) Love does no wrong to a neighbor. (2:44) Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law (2:32) Denn Liebe tut dem Nächsten nichts Böses. So ist nun die Liebe des Gesetzes Erfüllung (2:38) El amor no hace mal al prójimo; así que el amor es el cumplimiento de la ley.

(2:59) Besides this, since you know the time, it is already (3:27) the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed (3:07) Und weil wir solches wissen, nämlich die Zeit, daß die Stunde da ist, (3:36) aufzustehen vom Schlaf (sintemal unser Heil jetzt näher ist, denn da wir gläubig wurden (3:18) Y haced esto conociendo el tiempo, que ya es hora de despertaros del sueño; porque ahora la salvación está más cercana de nosotros que cuando creímos.

(3:56) The night is nearly over, and the day is near; (4:21) so let us discard the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light (4:03) die Nacht ist vorgerückt, der Tag aber nahe herbeigekommen (4:28) so lasset uns ablegen die Werke der Finsternis und anlegen die Waffen des Lichtes (4:12) La noche está muy avanzada, y el día está cerca (4:36) Despojémonos, pues, de las obras de las tinieblas y vistámonos con las armas de la luz.

(4:45) Let us walk with decency, as in the daytime: (5:12) not in carousing and drunkenness; not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy (4:55) Lasset uns ehrbar wandeln als am Tage, (5:22) nicht in Fressen und Saufen, nicht in Kammern und Unzucht, nicht in Hader und Neid (5:03) Andemos decentemente, como de día; (5:30) no con glotonerías y borracheras, ni en pecados sexuales y desenfrenos, ni en peleas y envidia.

(5:39) But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, (6:16) and don't make plans to gratify the desires of the flesh (5:45) sondern ziehet an den HERRN Jesus Christus und wartet des Leibes, doch also, daß er nicht geil werde (5:51) Más bien, vestíos del Señor Jesucristo, y no hagáis provisión para satisfacer los malos deseos de la carne.

LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

(0:07) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (0:14) So ist nun nichts Verdammliches an denen, die in Christo Jesu sind, die nicht nach dem Fleisch wandeln, sondern nach dem Geist (0:22)Ahora pues, ninguna condenación hay para los que están en Cristo Jesús,

(0:27) because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death (0:31)Denn das Gesetz des Geistes, der da lebendig macht in Christo Jesu, hat mich frei gemacht von dem Gesetz der Sünde und des Todes (0:40) porque la ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha librado de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.

(0:45) What the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering (0:54)Denn was dem Gesetz unmöglich war (sintemal es durch das Fleisch geschwächt ward), das tat Gott und sandte seinen Sohn in der Gestalt des sündlichen Fleisches und der Sünde halben und verdammte die Sünde im Fleisch (1:05)Porque Dios hizo lo que era imposible para la ley, por cuanto ella era débil por la carne: Habiendo enviado a su propio Hijo en semejanza de carne de pecado y a causa del pecado, condenó al pecado en la carne;

(1:18) in order that the law's requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit (1:24)auf daß die Gerechtigkeit, vom Gesetz erfordert, in uns erfüllt würde, die wir nun nicht nach dem Fleische wandeln, sondern nach dem Geist (1:33)para que la justa exigencia de la ley fuese cumplida en nosotros que no andamos conforme a la carne, sino conforme al Espíritu.

(1:40) For those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on the things of the Spirit (1:48)Denn die da fleischlich sind, die sind fleischlich gesinnt; die aber geistlich sind, die sind geistlich gesinnt (1:55)Porque los que viven conforme a la carne piensan en las cosas de la carne; pero los que viven conforme al Espíritu, en las cosas del Espíritu.

(2:03) Now the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set of the Spirit is life and peace (2:07)Aber fleischlich gesinnt sein ist der Tod, und geistlich gesinnt sein ist Leben und Friede (2:12)Porque la intención de la carne es muerte, pero la intención del Espíritu es vida y paz.

(2:18) The mindset of the flesh is hostile to God because it does not submit to God's law. Indeed, it is unable to do so (2:25)Denn fleischlich gesinnt sein ist wie eine Feindschaft wider Gott, sintemal das Fleisch dem Gesetz Gottes nicht untertan ist; denn es vermag's auch nicht (2:33)Pues la intención de la carne es enemistad contra Dios; porque no se sujeta a la ley de Dios, ni tampoco puede.

(2:40) Those who are in the flesh cannot please God (2:42)Die aber fleischlich sind, können Gott nicht gefallen (2:45)Así que, los que viven según la carne no pueden agradar a Dios.

(2:50) You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him (3:00)Ihr aber seid nicht fleischlich, sondern geistlich, so anders Gottes Geist in euch wohnt. Wer aber Christi Geist nicht hat, der ist nicht sein (3:09)Sin embargo, vosotros no vivís según la carne, sino según el Espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros. Si alguno no tiene el Espíritu de Cristo, no es de él (3:20)Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness (3:26)So nun aber Christus in euch ist, so ist der Leib zwar tot um der Sünde willen, der Geist aber ist Leben um der Gerechtigkeit willen (3:34)Pero si Cristo está en vosotros, aunque el cuerpo está muerto a causa del pecado, no obstante el espíritu vive a causa de la justicia.

(3:41) And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you…cont>>

(00:00)Now, if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit gives life because of righteousness (0:07) So nun aber Christus in euch ist, so ist der Leib zwar tot um der Sünde willen, der Geist aber ist Leben um der Gerechtigkeit willen (0:15)Pero si Cristo está en vosotros, aunque el cuerpo está muerto a causa del pecado, no obstante el espíritu vive a causa de la justicia.

(0:23)And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you (0:32)So nun der Geist des, der Jesum von den Toten auferweckt hat, in euch wohnt, so wird auch derselbe, der Christum von den Toten auferweckt hat, eure sterblichen Leiber lebendig machen um deswillen, daß sein Geist in euch wohnt (0:46)Y si el Espíritu de aquel que resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos mora en vosotros, el que resucitó a Cristo de entre los muertos también dará vida a vuestros cuerpos mortales mediante su Espíritu que mora en vosotros.

HEIRS WITH CHRIST

(1:00) So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh (1:08) So sind wir nun, liebe Brüder, Schuldner nicht dem Fleisch, daß wir nach dem Fleisch leben (1:14) Así que, hermanos, somos deudores, pero no a la carne para que vivamos conforme a la carne.

(1:20) because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live (1:28)Denn wo ihr nach dem Fleisch lebet, so werdet ihr sterben müssen; wo ihr aber durch den Geist des Fleisches Geschäfte tötet, so werdet ihr leben (1:36)Porque si vivís conforme a la carne, habéis de morir; pero si por el Espíritu hacéis morir las prácticas de la carne, viviréis.

(1:44) For all those led by God's Spirit are God's sons / Denn welche der Geist Gottes treibt, die sind Gottes Kinder (1:50)Porque todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, éstos son hijos de Dios.

(1:55) For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father!" (2:04) Denn ihr habt nicht einen knechtischen Geist empfangen, daß ihr euch abermals fürchten müßtet; sondern ihr habt einen kindlichen Geist empfangen, durch welchen wir rufen: Abba, lieber Vater! (2:17) Pues no recibisteis el espíritu de esclavitud para estar otra vez bajo el temor, sino que recibisteis el espíritu de adopción como hijos, en el cual clamamos: "¡Abba, Padre!"

(2:28) The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God's children (2:32) Derselbe Geist gibt Zeugnis unserem Geist, daß wir Kinder Gottes sind (2:37) El Espíritu mismo da testimonio juntamente con nuestro espíritu de que somos hijos de Dios.

(2:42) and if children, also heirs — heirs of God and coheirs with Christ — if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him (2:50) Sind wir denn Kinder, so sind wir auch Erben, nämlich Gottes Erben und Miterben Christi, so wir anders mit leiden, auf daß wir auch mit zur Herrlichkeit erhoben werden (3:00)Y si somos hijos, también somos herederos: herederos de Dios y coherederos con Cristo, si es que padecemos juntamente con él, para que juntamente con él seamos glorificados.

FUTURE GLORY

(3:16) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us (3:24) Denn ich halte es dafür, daß dieser Zeit Leiden der Herrlichkeit nicht wert sei, die an uns soll offenbart werden (3:31) Porque considero que los padecimientos del tiempo presente no son dignos de comparar con la gloria que pronto nos ha de ser revelada.

(3:38) For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God's sons to be revealed (3:42) Denn das ängstliche Harren der Kreatur wartet auf die Offenbarung der Kinder Gottes (3:47) Pues la creación aguarda con ardiente anhelo la manifestación de los hijos de Dios…

(0:56)For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together with labor pains until now (1.01)Denn wir wissen, daß alle Kreatur sehnt sich mit uns und ängstet sich noch immerdar (1:06)Porque sabemos que toda la creación gime a una, y a una sufre dolores de parto hasta ahora.

(1:12)Not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits — we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies. (1:21)Nicht allein aber sie, sondern auch wir selbst, die wir haben des Geistes Erstlinge, sehnen uns auch bei uns selbst nach der Kindschaft und warten auf unsers Leibes Erlösung (1.31.5)Y no sólo la creación, sino también nosotros, que tenemos las primicias del Espíritu, gemimos dentro de nosotros mismos, aguardando la adopción como hijos, la redención de nuestro cuerpo.

(1:43)Now in this hope we were saved, but hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? (1:49)Denn wir sind wohl selig, doch in der Hoffnung. Die Hoffnung aber, die man sieht, ist nicht Hoffnung; denn wie kann man des hoffen, das man sieht?(1:58)Porque fuimos salvos con esperanza; pero una esperanza que se ve no es esperanza, pues ¿quién sigue esperando lo que ya ve?

(2:05)Now if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience (2:09)So wir aber des hoffen, das wir nicht sehen, so warten wir sein durch Geduld (2:14)Pero si esperamos lo que no vemos, con perseverancia lo aguardamos.

(2:18)In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings (2:28)Desgleichen auch der Geist hilft unsrer Schwachheit auf. Denn wir wissen nicht, was wir beten sollen, wie sich's gebührt; sondern der Geist selbst vertritt uns aufs beste mit unaussprechlichem Seufzen (2:40)Y asimismo, también el Espíritu nos ayuda en nuestras debilidades; porque cómo debiéramos orar, no lo sabemos; pero el Espíritu mismo intercede con gemidos indecibles.

(2:50)And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to the will of God (2:57)Der aber die Herzen erforscht, der weiß, was des Geistes Sinn sei; denn er vertritt die Heiligen nach dem, das Gott gefällt (3:05)Y el que escudriña los corazones sabe cuál es el intento del Espíritu, porque él intercede por los santos conforme a la voluntad de Dios.

(3:12)We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose (3:18)Wir wissen aber, daß denen, die Gott lieben, alle Dinge zum Besten dienen, denen, die nach dem Vorsatz berufen sind (3:26)Y sabemos que Dios hace que todas las cosas ayuden para bien a los que le aman, esto es, a los que son llamados conforme a su propósito.

GOD'S EVERLASTING LOVE

(1:03)What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? Was wollen wir nun hierzu sagen? Ist Gott für uns, wer mag wider uns sein? ¿Qué, pues, diremos frente a estas cosas? Si Dios es por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros?

(1:21)He did not even spare his own Son but offered him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything? welcher auch seines eigenen Sohnes nicht hat verschont, sondern hat ihn für uns alle dahingegeben; wie sollte er uns mit ihm nicht alles schenken?El que no eximió ni a su propio Hijo, sino que lo entregó por todos nosotros, ¿cómo no nos dará gratuitamente también con él todas las cosas?

(1:43)Who can bring an accusation against God's elect? God is the one who justifies. Wer will die Auserwählten Gottes beschuldigen? Gott ist hier, der da gerecht macht. ¿Quién acusará a los escogidos de Dios? El que justifica es Dios.

(1:58)Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us. Wer will verdammen? Christus ist hier, der gestorben ist, ja vielmehr, der auch auferweckt ist, welcher ist zur Rechten Gottes und vertritt uns. ¿Quién es el que condenará? Cristo es el que murió; más aun, es el que también resucitó; quien, además, está a la diestra de Dios, y quien también intercede por nosotros.

(2:28)Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Wer will uns scheiden von der Liebe Gottes? Trübsal oder Angst oder Verfolgung oder Hunger oder Blöße oder Fährlichkeit oder Schwert? ¿Quién nos separará del amor de Cristo?¿Tribulación,angustia,persecución,hambre,desnudez,peligros,espada?

(2:52)As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered. Wie geschrieben steht: "Um deinetwillen werden wir getötet den ganzen Tag; wir sind geachtet wie Schlachtschafe." Como está escrito: Por tu causa somos muertos todo el tiempo; fuimos estimados como ovejas para el matadero.

(3:11)No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Aber in dem allem überwinden wir weit um deswillen, der uns geliebt hat. Más bien, en todas estas cosas somos más que vencedores por medio de aquel que nos amó.

(3:25)For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,

Denn ich bin gewiß, daß weder Tod noch Leben, weder Engel noch Fürstentümer noch Gewalten, weder Gegenwärtiges noch Zukünftiges/Por lo cual estoy convencido de que ni la muerte, ni la vida, ni ángeles, ni principados, ni lo presente, ni lo porvenir, ni poderes,

(3:50)nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to (4:38) separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. weder Hohes noch Tiefes noch keine andere Kreatur mag uns scheiden von der Liebe Gottes, die in Christo Jesu ist, unserm HERRN.

GOD'S SOVEREIGN CHOICE (0:01)

(00:07) I speak the truth in Christ — I am not lying; my conscience testifies to me through the Holy Spirit (0:14) Ich sage die Wahrheit in Christus und lüge nicht, wie mir Zeugnis gibt mein Gewissen in dem Heiligen Geist (0:21) Digo la verdad en Cristo; no miento. (0:27) that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart (0:31) daß ich große Traurigkeit und Schmerzen ohne Unterlaß in meinem Herzen habe (0:36) de que tengo una gran tristeza y continuo dolor en el corazón;

(0:40) For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the benefit of my brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood (0:47) Ich habe gewünscht, verbannt zu sein von Christo für meine Brüder, die meine Gefreundeten sind nach dem Fleisch;

porque desearía yo mismo ser separado de Cristo por el bien de mis hermanos, los que son mis familiares según la carne.

(1:02) They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, and the promises (1:10) die da sind von Israel, welchen gehört die Kindschaft und die Herrlichkeit und der Bund und das Gesetz und der Gottesdienst und die Verheißungen (1:19) Ellos son israelitas, de los cuales son la adopción, la gloria, los pactos, la promulgación de la ley, el culto y las promesas.

(1:28) The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, praised forever. (1:55) Now it is not as though the word of God has failed, because not all who are descended from Israel are Israel (2:01) Aber nicht sage ich solches, als ob Gottes Wort darum aus sei. (2:01) As it also says in Hosea, I will call Not My People, My People, and she who is Unloved, Beloved (2:08) Wie er denn auch durch Hosea spricht: "Ich will das mein Volk heißen, daß nicht mein Volk war, und meine Liebe, die nicht meine Liebe war." (3:10) since the Lord will execute his sentence completely and decisively on the earth🌎(3:15)denn es wird ein Verderben und Steuern geschehen zur Gerechtigkeit, und der HERR wird das Steuern tun auf Erden." (3:22) Porque el Señor ejecutará su palabra pronto y con vigor sobre la tierra.

(3:26) And just as Isaiah predicted: If the Lord of Hosts had not left us offspring, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have been made like Gomorrah (3:34) Und wie Jesaja zuvorsagte: "Wenn uns nicht der HERR Zebaoth hätte lassen Samen übrig bleiben, so wären wir wie Sodom und Gomorra." ISRAEL'S UNBELIEF

(0:26) What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness — namely the righteousness that comes from faith. (0:35) Was wollen wir nun hier sagen? Das wollen wir sagen: Die Heiden, die nicht haben nach der Gerechtigkeit getrachtet, haben Gerechtigkeit erlangt; ich sage aber von der Gerechtigkeit, die aus dem Glauben kommt (0:49) ¿Qué, pues, diremos? Que los gentiles, quienes no iban tras la justicia, alcanzaron la justicia, es decir, la justicia que procede de la fe;

(0:59) But Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not achieved the righteousness of the law (1:04) Israel aber hat dem Gesetz der Gerechtigkeit nachgetrachtet, und hat das Gesetz der Gerechtigkeit nicht erreicht.

(1:11) mientras que Israel, que iba tras la ley de justicia, no alcanzó la ley.

(1:16) Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone (1:23) Warum das?
