¡Ay de la tierra del zumbido de alas, que está más allá de los ríos de Etiopía! Ella envía embajadores por mar en navíos de junco sobre las aguas. (0:52) Id, oh veloces mensajeros, al pueblo de alta estatura y piel brillante, al pueblo temido por todas partes, nación agresiva y atropelladora, cuya tierra dividen los ríos. (1:04) Todos los moradores del mundo, y los vecinos de la tierra, cuando levantare bandera en los montes, la veréis; y cuando tocare trompeta, la oiréis. (1:28) Porque así me ha dicho Jehovah: “Estaré tranquilo y miraré desde mi morada, como el calor que vibra ante la luz, como una nube de rocío en el calor de la cosecha.” Porque antes de la siega, cuando el fruto fuere perfecto, y pasada la flor, los frutos fuesen maduros, entonces podará con podaderas las ramitas; y cortará y quitará las ramas. (1:51) Serán dejados para las aves de rapiña de las montañas y para los animales de la tierra. Sobre ellos pasarán el verano las aves de rapiña, y allí invernarán todos los animales de la tierra.

(2:35) En aquel tiempo será traído presente al SEÑOR de los ejércitos, el pueblo arrastrado y repelado; el pueblo lleno de temores desde su principio y después; gente agresiva y atropelladora, harta de esperar y hollada, cuya tierra destruyeron los ríos, al lugar del nombre del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, al Monte de Sion.

Isaías 19 UN ORÁCULO ACERCA DE EGIPTO🇪🇬(3:19)

Profecía/carga acerca de Egipto: He aquí, Jehovah cabalga sobre una nube veloz y entra en Egipto. (3:44) Los ídolos de Egipto se estremecen ante su presencia, y el corazón de los egipcios desfallece dentro de ellos. “Yo incitaré a los egipcios contra los egipcios (4:16). Cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo, ciudad contra ciudad, y reino contra reino. El espíritu de Egipto se trastornará dentro de sí, y confundiré sus planes. Preguntarán a los ídolos, a los espíritus de los muertos, a los que evocan a los muertos y a los adivinos. Entregaré a Egipto en mano de un amo déspota, y un rey cruel se enseñoreará de ellos”, dice el Señor Jehovah de los Ejércitos (4:49). Las aguas del mar menguarán, y el río se agotará y se secará. Los canales apestarán; los brazos del Nilo de Egipto se reducirán y se secarán. Los cañaverales y los juncales se marchitarán. (5:25) Los arbustos junto al Nilo, junto a la ribera del Nilo, y todos los sembrados del Nilo se secarán; serán arrebatados y desaparecerán. (6:40) Ciertamente son necios los príncipes de Zoán [los magistrados de Tanis]; el consejo de los prudentes consejeros de Faraón se ha desvanecido. ¿Cómo diréis por Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, e hijo de los reyes antiguos? ¿Dónde están ahora aquellos tus prudentes? Que te digan ahora, o te hagan saber qué es lo que el SEÑOR de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto. (7:05) Los magistrados de Tanis han actuado neciamente; se han engañado los magistrados de Menfis. Han hecho errar a Egipto aquellos que son las piedras angulares de sus tribus. (7:38) Jehovah ha mezclado en medio de él espíritu de vértigo [vahído], e hicieron errar a Egipto en toda su obra, como se tambalea el borracho en su vómito. No le servirá a Egipto nada de lo que haga la cabeza y la cola, la palmera y el junco.

AN ORACLE CONCERNING CUSH (0:00)

The land of buzzing wings is as good as dead, the one beyond the rivers of Cush (Ethiopia), that sends messengers by sea, who glide over the water's surface in boats made of papyrus. (0:24) Go, you swift messengers, to a nation of tall, smooth-skinned people, to a people that are feared far and wide, to a nation strong and victorious, whose land is cut through by rivers.

(1:09) All you peoples of the world, and you who are living on the earth, when a flag is lifted up on the mountains, give attention; you will hear a trumpet being blown.

(1:48) For this is what the Lord has told me: “I will wait and watch from my place, like scorching heat produced by the sunlight, like a cloud of mist in the heat of harvest.” For before the harvest, when the bud has sprouted, and the ripening fruit appears, he will cut off the unproductive shoots with pruning knives; he will prune the tendrils. They will all be left for the birds of the hills and the wild animals; (1:43) the birds will eat them during the summer, and all the wild animals will eat them during the winter. (2:31) At that time tribute will be brought to the Lord who commands armies, by a people that are tall and smooth-skinned, a people that are feared far and wide, a nation strong and victorious, whose land rivers divide. The tribute will be brought to the place where the Lord who commands armies has chosen to reside, on Mount Zion.

Isaiah 19 AN ORACLE CONCERNING EGYPT (3:24)

Look, the Lord rides on a swift-moving cloud and approaches Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before him; the Egyptians lose their courage. “I will provoke civil strife in Egypt, brothers will fight with each other, as will neighbors, cities, and kingdoms. They will panic, I will confuse their strategy. They will seek guidance from the idols, from the pits used to conjure up underworld spirits, and from the magicians.”

“I will hand Egypt over to a harsh master; a powerful king will rule over them,” says the Lord who commands armies. (4:42) The water of the sea will be dried up, and the river will dry up and be empty. The canals will stink; the streams of Egypt will trickle and then dry up; the bulrushes and reeds will decay, along with the plants by the mouth of the river. (5:26) All the cultivated land near the river will turn to dust and be blown away (the grass-lands and everything planted by the Nile will become dry). (5:52) The fishermen will be sad, and all those who put fishing-lines into the Nile will be full of grief, and those whose nets are stretched out on the waters will have sorrow in their hearts. Those who make clothes from combed flax (linen thread) will be embarrassed; those who weave will turn pale. And the makers of twisted thread will be crushed, all the hired workers will be sad in heart.

(6:10) The officials of Zoan are nothing but fools; Pharaoh's wise advisers give stupid advice. How dare you say to Pharaoh, “I am one of the sages, one well-versed in the writings of the ancient kings?” But where, oh where, are your wise men? Let them tell you, let them find out what the Lord who commands armies has planned for Egypt. (7:01) Where, then, are your wise men? (7:30) The chiefs of Zoan have become foolish, the chiefs of Noph are tricked, they are the cause of Egypt's wandering out of the way.

(7:54) The Lord has made them undiscerning; they lead Egypt astray in all she does, so that she is like a drunk sliding around in his own vomit. [The Lord has sent among them a spirit of error: and by them Egypt is turned out of the right way in all her doings, as a man overcome by wine is uncertain in his steps.] Egypt will not be able to do a thing, head or tail, shoots and stalk. [And in Egypt there will be no work for any man, head or tail, high or low, to do.]…Isaiah 19b-20 “Blessed be my people, Egypt, and the work of my hands, Assyria, and my special possession, Israel!” (EGYPT, ASSYRIA, ISRAEL BLESSED, continued on the next episode).

Is. 16 En misericordia será establecido un trono en el tabernáculo de David…(3:59) “Envíad cordero al enseñoreador de la tierra, desde la piedra del desierto al Monte de la hija de Sion. (5:24) Entonces en misericordia será establecido un trono, y sobre él se sentará firmemente en el tabernáculo de David el que juzga, busca el derecho y apresura la justicia.”

(5:48) Hemos oído de la soberbia de Moab, que es muy soberbio; pero su jactancia y sus mentiras no serán firmes. (6:08) Por tanto, aullará todo Moab, (6:51) y lloraré amargamente por Jazer y por la viña de Sibma. (7:12) Quitado es el gozo y la alegría del campo fértil; en las viñas no cantarán, la canción y el grito de júbilo hice cesar. (7:43) Cuando Moab aparezca exhausto sobre el lugar alto y entre a su santuario a orar, de nada le servirá. (8:17) Ésta es la palabra que Jehovah ha pronunciado desde antaño acerca de Moab, y ahora dice: Dentro de tres años, como cuenta los años un jornalero, será abatida la gloria de Moab, con toda su gran multitud; y sus residuos serán pocos, pequeños, y no fuertes.

Isaías 17 ORÁCULO SOBRE DAMASCO (8:57) "Ha dejado de ser ciudad y será un montón de ruinas, las ciudades de Aroer están desamparadas, serán para los rebaños; allí se recuestan, y no hay quien los espante. Ha cesado la fortificación de Efraín y el reino de Damasco. El remanente de los sirios será como la gloria de los hijos de Israel", dice Jehovah de los Ejércitos. (9:46) Sucederá en aquel día que la gloria de Jacob será disminuida, como cuando el segador recoge la mies y con su brazo siega las espigas. (10:25) Será como el que recoge espigas en el valle de Refaím.l: quedarán en él rebuscos, como cuando sacuden el aceituno. (10:56) En aquel día mirará el hombre a su Hacedor, y sus ojos contemplarán al Santo de Israel. Ya no mirará a los altares que hicieron sus manos, ni a las imágenes del Sol, ni a los árboles rituales de Asera ni los altares de incienso.

(11:10) En aquel día sus ciudades fortificadas quedarán como los lugares abandonados de los horeos y de los amorreos, los cuales ellos abandonaron ante los hijos de Israel; y habrá desolación. (11:55) Porque te olvidaste del Dios de tu salvación, y no te acordaste de la Roca de tu fortaleza. Por eso, aunque siembras plantas deleitosas y plantas vides importadas, y en el día que las plantas las haces crecer y haces que su semilla florezca a la mañana siguiente, sin embargo la cosecha se esfumará en el día de la enfermedad y del dolor incurable.

(12:44) ¡Ay del tumulto de los muchos pueblos que rugen como el rugido del mar! El bullicio de las naciones resuena como el bullicio de las aguas impetuosas. (13:39) Al atardecer he aquí el terror repentino, y antes del amanecer ya no existirán. Ésta es la porción de los que nos despojan, el destino de los que nos saquean.

ORACLE CONCERNING MOAB (0:56) Message about Moab: in a night it is devastated, Ar of Moab is destroyed! Indeed, in a night Kir of Moab has become waste, and is seen no longer. The people of Dibon has gone up to the high places, weeping: Moab is sounding her cry of sorrow over Nebo, and over Medeba (1:47) everywhere the hair of the head and every beard is trimmed off. In their streets they are covering themselves with haircloth; on their roofs and in their town squares all of them wail, they fall down weeping.

(2:12) The people of Heshbon and Elealeh cry out, Moab's soldiers shout in distress; their courage wavers. My heart cries out because of Moab's plight: they weep on the way up to Luhith, loudly lament their demise on the road to Horonaim (3:00). For the waters of Nimrim are gone, there are no plants. For this cause they will take away their wealth over the Stream of the Poplars. (3:53) The waters of Dimon are full of blood! Indeed, I will heap even more trouble on Dimon: A lion will attack the Moabite fugitives and the people left in the land.

Isaiah 16 (4:20) Send rams as tribute to the ruler of the land, from Sela in the desert to the hill of Daughter Zion. At the fords of the Arnon the Moabite women are like a bird that flies about when forced from its nest. “Give wise directions, keep safe those who are in flight. (5:17) Please let the Moabite fugitives live among you. Hide them from the destroyer!” (5:43) Until those who take pleasure in crushing the poor are gone from the land.

(5:56) Then a trustworthy king will be established; he will rule in a reliable manner, this one from David's family. He will be sure to make just decisions and will be experienced in executing justice. (0:00) Then a king's seat will be based on mercy, in the tent of David forever.

(6:14) We have heard about Moab's pride [over] the raisin cakes & the men of Kir Hareseth. (7:08) The fields of Heshbon are waste, the vine of Sibmah is dead. (7:33) They are sounding the war-cry over your summer fruits and your grain. (7:45) Joy and happiness disappear from the orchards, (8:25) so my heart sighs for Moab, like the strumming of a harp. When they plead with all their might at their high places, their prayers will be ineffective! (8:50) This is the previous message from Lord about Moab, and now He announces: “Within exactly three years Moab's splendor will disappear, along with all her many people; there will be just a few, insignificant survivors left.”

Is. 17 ORACLE ABOUT DAMASCUS (9:33) "Look, Damascus is no longer a city, it is a heap of ruins! Fortified cities will disappear from Ephraim, Damascus will lose its kingdom. (10:33) The survivors in Syria will end up like the splendor of the Israelites," says the Lord of armies. At that time Jacob's splendor will be greatly diminished, and he will become skin and bones (11:08). There will be some left behind, like when an olive tree is beaten.

(12:02) At that time men will trust in their creator; they will depend on the Holy One of Israel. They will no longer trust in the altars their hands made, or depend on the Asherah poles and incense altars their fingers made. At that time their fortified cities will be like the abandoned summits of the Amorites, which they abandoned because of the Israelites; there will be desolation. (12:29) For you ignore the God who rescues you; you pay no attention to your  protector, the Rock of your strength; for this cause you made a garden of Adonis, and put in it the vine-cuttings of a strange god; in the day of your planting you were watching its growth, and in the morning your seed was flowering, but its fruit is wasted away in the day of disease, grief and bitter sorrow with incurable pain.

(13:33) The many nations massing together are as good as dead, those who make a commotion as loud as the roaring of the sea's waves, but he will put a stop to them, by morning they vanish. This is the fate of those who try to plunder us, the destiny of those who try to loot us!

LA RESTAURACIÓN DE JACOB (0:49) Porque el SEÑOR tendrá piedad de Jacob, todavía escogerá an Israel; les hará reposar en su tierra; y extranjerosse allegarán a la familia de Jacob. EL REMANENTE DE ISRAEL RIDICULIZA A BABILONIA (1:53) Y será que en el día que el SEÑOR te diera reposo de tu trabajo, y de tu temor, y de la dura servidumbre en que te hicieron servir, pronunciarás esta sentencia contra el rey de Babilonia, y dirás: "¡Cómo ha cesado el opresor; cómo ha cesado la prepotencia de ciudad codiciosa del oro! (2:20) Jehovah ha roto la vara de los impíos, el cetro de los gobernantes, que con ira golpeaba sin tregua a los pueblos y se enseñoreaba de las naciones con furor, persiguiéndolas sin contenerse. (3:01) Descansó toda la tierra y está tranquila, han prorrumpido en cánticos. Aun los cipreses y los cedros del Líbano se alegraron a causa de ti, diciendo: 'Desde que tú pereciste, no ha subido contra nosotros el talador.'

(3:32) El Seol se espantó de ti, hizo levantar de sus tronos a todos los príncipes de la tierra, y te dirán: '¿También tú te has debilitado como nosotros?' (4:17) Se depositó en el sepulcro tu soberbia, y el sonido de tus vihuelas; gusanos serán tu cama, y gusanos te cubrirán.

(4:40) ¡Cómo caíste del cielo, oh Lucifer, hijo de la mañana! Cortado fuiste por tierra, el que echabas suerte sobre los gentiles. (0:13) Tú que decías en tu corazón: Subiré al cielo, en lo alto junto a las estrellas de Dios ensalzaré mi trono, y en el monte del testimonio me sentaré, y en los lados del aquilón; (5:22) me sentaré en el monte de la asamblea, en las regiones más distantes del norte. Subiré sobre las alturas de las nubes y seré semejante al Altísimo.'

(5:59) Pero has sido derribado al [sepulcro], a lo más profundo de la fosa. Los que te vieren te considerarán diciendo: ¿Es éste aquel varón que hacía temblar la tierra, que trastornaba los reinos, que convirtió el mundo en un desierto? (6:53) Todos los reyes de los gentiles yacen con honra en su morada. Mas tú echado eres de tu sepulcro como tronco abominable; como vestido de muertos pasados a cuchillo, que descendieron al fondo de la sepultura. No serás contado con ellos en la sepultura; porque tú destruiste tu tierra, mataste a tu pueblo.

(7:43) La descendencia de los malhechores jamás será nombrada. Preparad el matadero para sus hijos, a causa de la maldad de sus padres. No sea que se levanten y posean la tierra, y llenen la faz del mundo con ciudades. (8:10) Porque yo me levantaré sobre ellos, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y raeré de Babilonia el nombre y las reliquias, hijo y nieto, los sobrevivientes, los descendientes y la posterioridad, dice Jehovah. La convertiré en posesión de erizos y en pantanos. La barreré con la escoba de la destrucción'.

ORÁCULO SOBRE ASIRIA (8:53) Quebrantaré al asirio en mi tierra, en mis montes lo hollaré; se quitará de ellos su yugo, y será quitada de sus hombros su carga. Porque el SEÑOR de los ejércitos lo ha determinado, ¿y quién lo invalidará? Y aquella su mano extendida, ¿quién la hará tornar?

ORÁCULO SOBRE FILISTEA (9:57) En el año que murió el rey Acaz vino esta profecía: No te alegres tú, toda Filistea, por haberse roto la vara que te hiere; porque de la raíz de la culebra saldrá la víbora🐍basilisco y su fruto será una serpiente voladora. (10:36) Y los primogénitos de los pobres serán apacentados, los menesterosos se acostarán seguramente; y haré morir de hambre tu raíz, y tus reliquias matará. (10:53) Aúlla, oh puerta, clama, oh ciudad; desleída Filistea toda tú, porque humo vendrá del aquilón; no quedará uno solo en sus asambleas, nadie en sus filas queda rezagado (11:11) ¿Y qué se responderá a los mensajeros de las naciones? Que Jehovah ha cimentado a Sion, y que en ella se refugiarán los afligidos de su pueblo.

(4:46) (0:45) THE RESTORATION OF JACOB The Lord will again make Israel his special people, resident foreigners will join them and the family of Jacob will make foreigners their servants as they settle in the Lord’s land (1:16).

ISRAEL'S REMNANT TAUNTS BABYLON (2:01) When the Lord gives you relief from your suffering and anxiety, and from the hard labor which you were made to perform, you will taunt the king of Babylon with this bitter song: “Look how the oppressor has met his end! Hostility has ceased! The scepter of evil rulers is broken by the Lord. (3:10) The whole earth rests. Even the cedars of Lebanon rejoice over your demise, singing, ‘Since you fell asleep, no woodsman comes up to chop us down!’

(3:41) Sheol is ready to meet you when you arrive. It rouses the spirits of the dead who say: 'You too have become weak like us! Your splendor has been brought down to the underworld, and the noise of your instruments of music. You lie on a bed of maggots, with a blanket of worms over you.

(0:00) Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror of the nations! (5:13) You said to yourself, "I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of El I will set up my throne. I will rule on the mountain of assembly on the remote slopes of Zaphon. (5:49) “I will go higher than the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High!” (6:15) But you were brought down to Sheol, to the remote slopes of the pit. Is this the troubler of the earth, the shaker of kingdoms? Is this the one who made the world like a desert, who ruined its cities, and refused to free his prisoners so they could return home? All the kings of the earth are at rest in glory, every man in his house. But you, like a birth before its time, have been thrown out of your grave, like a worthless branch or a shoot that is thrown away. You lie among the slain, among those who have been slashed by the sword, as if you were a mangled corpse. (7:56) As for your fathers, you will not be united with them in their resting-place; you will not be buried with them because you destroyed your land, and killed your people. The offspring of the wicked will never be mentioned again.

(8:55) “I will rise up against them, I will blot out all remembrance of Babylon and destroy all her people, including the offspring she produces,” says the Lord who commands armies. “I will turn her into a place that is overrun with wild animals and covered with pools of stagnant water. I will get rid of her, just as one sweeps away dirt with a broom.”

AN ORACLE CONCERNING ASSYRIA (9:37) The Lord who commands armies makes this solemn vow: Be sure of this: Just as I have intended, so it will be; just as I have planned, it will happen. I will break Assyria in my land, I will trample them underfoot on my hills. Their yoke will be removed from my people. This is my purpose for all the earth: and this is the hand stretched out to strike all the nations. Indeed, the Lord who commands armies has a plan, who can possibly frustrate it? His hand is ready to strike, who can possibly stop it?

ORACLE CONCERNING PHILISTIA (10:57) In the year King Ahaz died, this message was revealed: Don't be so happy, all you Philistines, just because the club that beat you has been broken! For a viper will grow out of the serpent's root, and its fruit will be a darting adder (a winged poison-snake.) The poor will graze in my pastures; the needy will rest securely. But I will kill your root by famine; it will put to death all your survivors. (11:47) Wail, O city gate! Cry out, O city! Melt with fear, all you Philistines! For out of the north comes a cloud of smoke, and there are no stragglers in its ranks, everyone keeps his place in the line. (12:24) How will they respond to the messengers of this nation? Indeed, the Lord has made Zion secure; the oppressed among his people will find safety in her (the builder of Zion makes it a safe place for the poor of his people.)

(0:58) Murmullo de multitud suena en los montes, como de mucho pueblo; murmullo de sonido de reinos, de gentiles reunidos; el SEÑOR de los ejércitos ordena las tropas de la batalla. (1:25) Jehovah y los instrumentos de su ira vienen de una tierra lejana, del extremo de los cielos, para destruir toda la tierra. (1:40) Lamentad/Aullad, porque cerca está el día del SEÑOR; como asolamiento por Poderoso vendrá. (6:58) Por tanto, se descoyuntarán todas la manos, y todo corazón de hombre se desleirá (todas las manos se debilitarán, y todo corazón humano desfallecerá.) Y se llenarán de terror; angustias y dolores los invadirán; (1:50) tendrán dolores como mujer de parto; se asombrarán al mirar a su compañero; sus rostros, rostros de llamas.

(2:27) He aquí que el día del SEÑOR viene, cruel y de enojo y ardor de ira, para tornar la tierra en soledad, y raer de ella sus pecadores. (2:46) Por lo cual las estrellas de los cielos y sus luceros no derramarán su lumbre; el sol se oscurecerá al nacer, y la luna no echará su resplandor. (3:09) Castigaré al mundo por su maldad, y a los impíos por su iniquidad. Haré que cese la arrogancia de los soberbios, y humillaré la altivez de los tiranos.

(3:45) Haré al ser humano más preciado que el oro fino, y al hombre más que el oro de Ofir. (8:07) Porque haré estremecer los cielos, y la tierra se moverá de su lugar, en la indignación del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y en el día de la ira de su furor. (3:56) Y será que como gacela perseguida, y como oveja sin pastor; cada cual mirará hacia su pueblo, y cada uno huirá a su tierra. (4:36) Cualquiera que fuere hallado, será alanceado; y cualquiera que a ellos se juntare, caerá a espada. Sus niños serán estrellados delante de ellos; sus casas serán saqueadas, y sus mujeres violadas.

(5:05) He aquí que yo incito contra ellos a los medos, que no estiman la plata ni desean El Oro. Sus arcos desbaratarán a los jóvenes; no tendrán misericordia del fruto del vientre, ni sus ojos tendrán lástima de los hijos.

(5:32) Y Babilonia, el más hermoso de los reinos, la gloria y el orgullo de los caldeos, será como cuando Dios trastornó a Sodoma y a Gomorra. Nunca más será habitada, ni será poblada de generación en generación. El árabe no pondrá allí su tienda, ni los pastores harán recostar allí sus rebaños, (6:13) mas dormirán allí bestias fieras; y sus casas se llenarán de hurones; allí habitarán hijas del búho, y allí saltarán sátiros. Y en sus palacios gritarán gatos cervales; y dragones en sus casas de deleite; y abocado está a venir su tiempo, y sus días no se alargarán. [(6:33) Pero allí se recostarán las fieras del desierto, y sus casas se llenarán de búhos. Allí habitarán las avestruces, y allí danzarán los chivos salvajes. En sus palacios aullarán las hienas, y los chacales en las lujosas mansiones. Su tiempo está cercano para llegar, y sus días no se prolongarán."]

THE JUDGMENT OF BABYLON (5:51)

(0:07) This is a message about Babylon that God revealed to Isaiah son of Amoz: On a bare hill raise a signal flag, shout to them, wave your hand, so they might enter the gates of the princes! (0:49) I have given orders to my chosen soldiers; I have summoned the warriors through whom I will vent my anger, my boasting, arrogant ones, those of mine who take pride in their power, to give effect to my wrath. (0:59) There is a loud noise on the🏔️mountains🏔️, it sounds like a large army! There is great commotion among the kingdoms. Nations are being assembled! The Lord who commands armies is mustering forces for battle. [The Lord of armies is numbering his forces for war.] (1:21) They come from a distant land, from the horizon (the farthest part of heaven). It is the Lord with his instruments of judgment, coming to destroy the whole earth.

(1:46) Wail, for the Lord 's day of judgment is near; it comes with all the destructive power of the sovereign judge. For this reason all hands hang limp, every human heart loses its courage. They panic😱; cramps and pain seize hold of them like those of a woman who is straining to give birth. They look at one another in astonishment; their faces are flushed red. [For this cause all hands will be feeble, (2:16) their hearts will be full of fear; their faces will be like flames.]

(2:39) Look, the Lord 's day of judgment is coming; it is a day of cruelty and savage, raging anger, destroying the earth and annihilating its sinners. Indeed the stars in the sky and their constellations no longer give out their light; the sun is darkened as soon as it rises, and the moon does not shine. For the stars of heaven and its bright armies will not give their light: the sun will be made dark in his journey through the heaven, and the moon will keep back her light.

(3:13) I will punish the world for its evil, and wicked people for their sin. I will put an end to the pride of the insolent, I will bring down the arrogance of tyrants. (3:36) I will make human beings more scarce than pure gold; a man will be harder to get than gold, even the best gold of Ophir. (3:49) So I will shake the heavens, and the earth will shake loose from its foundation, because of the fury of the Lord who commands armies, in the day he vents his raging anger. (4:03) And it will be that, like a roe in flight, and like wandering sheep, they will go every man to his people and to his land. [Like a frightened gazelle, each will run to his homeland. (4:43) Everyone who is caught will die by the sword.]

(4:34) Their children will be smashed to pieces before their very eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives raped. (5:00) Look, I am stirring up the Medes to attack them; they are not concerned about silver, nor are they interested in gold. (5:23) In their hands are bows and spears; they are cruel, violently putting the young men to death, and crushing the young women; they have no pity for children, and no mercy for the fruit of the body, they will not look with pity on children.

(5:36) And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beautiful town which is the pride of the Chaldaeans, will be like God's destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. People will never be living in it again, and it will have no more men from generation to generation: (6:14) the Arab will not put up his tent there; and those who keep sheep will not make it a resting-place for their flocks. [No one will live there again; no one will ever reside there again. No bedouin will camp there, no shepherds will rest their flocks there.]

(6:00) The ruined houses will be full of hyenas. Ostriches will live there, wild goats will skip among the ruins. (6:34) Wild dogs will yip in her ruined fortresses, jackals will yelp in the once-splendid palaces. Her time is almost up, her days will not be prolonged. (6:51) Wolves will be answering one another in their towers, and jackals in their houses of pleasure: her days of power will quickly be ended.]

Y dirás en aquel día: Cantaré a ti, oh SEÑOR; pues aunque te enojaste contra mí, tu furor se apartó, y me has consolado. [En aquel día dirás: "¡Te doy gracias, oh Jehovah! Aunque te enojaste contra mí, tu ira se apartó, y me has consolado.]

(0:35) ¡He aquí, Dios es mi salvación! Confiaré y no temeré, porque Jehovah es mi fortaleza y mi canción; él es mi salvación." [He aquí oh Dios, salud mía; me aseguraré, y no temeré; porque mi fortaleza y mi canción es JAH, el SEÑOR, el cual ha sido salud para mí.]

(0:54) Sacaréis aguas con gozo de las fuentes de la salud (2:59). [Con regocijo sacaréis agua de los manantiales de la salvación.] Y diréis en aquel día: Cantad al SEÑOR; invocad su nombre. Haced célebres en los pueblos sus obras. Recordad como su nombre es engrandecido. (1:17) [En aquel día diréis: "¡Dad gracias a Jehovah! ¡Invocad su nombre! Dad a conocer entre los pueblos sus hazañas; recordad que grande es su nombre.]

(1:30) Cantad salmos al SEÑOR, porque ha hecho cosas magníficas; sea sabido esto por toda la tierra. [¡Cantad salmos a Jehovah, porque ha hecho cosas magníficas! Sea esto conocido en toda la tierra.]

(1:47) Regocíjate y canta, oh Moradora de Sion; porque grande es en medio de ti el Santo de Israel. [Grita y canta, oh habitante de Sion, pues el Santo de Israel es grande en medio de ti.]

[Comentario del Expositor Bíblico]

(2:14) Pozos, no meros arroyos, que pueden secarse, sino fuentes que siempre fluyen (Juan 4:14; 7:38): “Pero en el último y gran día de la fiesta, Jesús se puso de pie y alzó la voz diciendo: Si alguno tiene sed, venga a mí y beba. El que cree en mí, como dice la Escritura, ríos de agua viva correrán de su interior”.

(2:49) Esto dijo acerca del Espíritu que habían de recibir los que creyeran en él, pues todavía no había sido dado el Espíritu, porque Jesús aún no había sido glorificado. “Sacaréis aguas con gozo de las fuentes de la salud”. Ya se ha insinuado que los judíos aplicaron este pasaje al Espíritu Santo: y que probablemente en esto basaron su costumbre de extraer agua de la fuente de Siloé en la fiesta de la dedicación (Juan 7:37). La fuente de Siloé estaba en la parte oriental de la ciudad, y el agua se extraía de esa fuente en una copa dorada, y se vertía, con cada expresión de regocijo, en el sacrificio en el altar. Dios como una fuente desbordante, adecuada para satisfacer las necesidades de todas sus criaturas. En general, en las Escrituras, los arroyos, las fuentes, los ríos, se utilizan como emblemáticos de la abundante plenitud y riqueza de las misericordias que Dios ha proporcionado para satisfacer las necesidades espirituales de los hombres. La idea aquí es, por lo tanto, que deberían participar abundantemente de las misericordias de la salvación; que era libre, desbordante y refrescante, como aguas para los peregrinos cansados en el desierto; y que su participación en ella sería con alegría. Llenaría el alma de felicidad; como el descubrimiento de una fuente abundante, o un pozo en el desierto, llena al peregrino sediento de regocijo. El sentido de los judíos en este asunto se muestra claramente en el siguiente pasaje del Talmud de Jerusalén: "¿Por qué se le llama el lugar o la casa de la extracción?" (Porque ese era el término para esta ceremonia, o para el lugar donde se tomó el agua) "Porque de allí extraen el Espíritu Santo; como está escrito, y sacaréis agua con alegría de las fuentes de la salvación".

(0:07) THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SONG (0:19)

(1:11) At that time you will say: "I praise you, O Lord, for even though you were angry with me, your anger subsided; your wrath is turned away, and I am comforted.

(0:34) Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in him and not fear. For the Lord gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer." [See, God is my salvation; I will have faith in the Lord, without fear: for the Lord Jah is my strength and song; and he has become my salvation.]

(0:57) Joyfully you will draw water from the springs of deliverance, so with joy will you get water out of the springs of salvation. And in that day you will say, Give praise to the Lord, let his name be honoured, give word of his doings among the peoples, say that his name is lifted up. [At that time you will say: "Praise the Lord! Ask him for help! Publicize his mighty acts among the nations! Make it known that he is unique!]

(1:27) Sing to the Lord, for he has done magnificent things, let this be known throughout the earth! [Make a song to the Lord; for he has done noble things: give news of them through all the earth.] (1:46) Cry out and shout for joy, O citizens of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel acts mightily among you!" (2:11) [Let your voice be sounding in a cry of joy, O daughter of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.]

Isaiah 12:3 (2:23) On the last day of the feast of tabernacles the Jews used to bring water in a golden pitcher from the fountain of Siloam, and pour it, mingled with wine, on the sacrifice on the altar, with great rejoicing. This is the allusion in Jesus‘ words on “the last day of the feast” (John 7:2, John 7:37-39). The pouring out of water indicated repentance (1 Samuel 7:6; compare, as to the Jews‘ repentance hereafter, Zechariah 12:10). There shall be a latter outpouring of the Spirit like the former one on pentecost (Joel 2:23). The Jews themselves seem to have applied it to the times of Messiah. On the last day of the feast of tabernacles they fetched water in a golden pitcher from the fountain of Shiloah, springing at the foot of Mount Sion without the city: they brought it through the water-gate into the temple, and poured it, mixed with wine, on the sacrifice as it lay upon the altar, with great rejoicing. (2:48) They seem to have taken up this custom, for it is not ordained in the law of Moses, as an emblem of future blessings, in allusion to this passage of Isaiah, “Ye shall draw waters with joy from the fountains of salvation,” expressions that can hardly be understood of any benefits afforded by the Mosaic dispensation. Our Savior applied the ceremony, and the intention of it, to himself, and the effusion of the Holy Spirit, promised, and to be given, by him (John 7:37-39):

(3:03) On the last day of the feast, the greatest day, Jesus stood up and shouted out, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. Just as the scripture says, 'From within him will flow rivers of living water.'" (Now he said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
