People pleasing as it shows up in leadership 

Hutton is a successful serial entrepreneur who has had a long career helping tech businesses 

Despite a lot of his success he often finds his way circulating around issues that can cause conflict 

While he’s been very successful at navigating around them, coping with them and avoiding them they inevitably come up

He came onto the show to dive deeper and explore how they are creating leaks in his time and his profit 

During the episode we were able to unpack a lot of his patterns had to do with his associations with conflict and aggression 

Similarly, a lot of his realizations were that people pleasing is really “lying” i.e. saying yes when you mean no or not expressing the fullness of what wants to emerge 

He was able to connect this with his own sense of integrity and was the “north star” he was looking for 

Playing small inside of her business 

As a veteran recruiter having represented some of the biggest brands in the world, Zena was doubting her “credibility” to go out and work her magic independently 

Diving into the blocks she was having it turned out that there was a few main limiting patterns that were currently blocking her namely around visibility and playing small 

We explored how they were showing up in the inconsistency around her actions and ripples of that inside of her business

Her real big aha moment was when she realized the “linchpin” pattern that was behind all of it was a sense of unworthiness from her past

This realization coupled with the reality that this could potentially be a 300k year for in 2024 if she takes ownership of her magnificence she was enthusiastic about her potential going into the new year 

Feast and famine cycles 

As a very experienced transformational therapist Chrissie came into the episode very aware and knowledgeable on the patterns that were affecting her inside of her business 

Diving deeper into them, specifically the feast and famine patterns she was experiencing it became clear that what she actually resisted was being seen authentically in the marketplace

We started to break that down further and it became clear to Chrissie that she was optimizing for not being judged by her family vs. being heard by the people that needed her 

She was also prompted to speak as authentically as she could on the recording and recognize that she was already being judged in small ways so her “worst fears” are already happening

Avoidance and Increasing his pricing 

Despite having a successful business with mobile home real estate Adrian was finding it challenging to set appropriate margins to his education business 

He understood intellectually that it didn’t make sense to undercharge for what he was providing but he couldn’t get past it

Going through the Profit Leak Assessments we found out that he tries to outthink a lot of the challenges that come his way yet the problem in front of him now was actually emotional 

That was a big realization in that he emotionally can’t buy into improving his margins 

Additionally, we explored how his avoidance patterns were actually just protection against failing and not over committing 

Getting out of the therapy box to grow her coaching business

Liz is a seasoned veteran with decades of experience in therapy but recently made the jump into coaching

As a result she brought along a lot of her past paradigms about what’s appropriate in therapy and it was causing her to stall her business growth

She had a lot of limiting beliefs around promotion and charging what she’s worth 

This created a lot of shame around what she was trying to do which was stopping her from moving forward 

Additionally, we also dove into how she can switch her frame around charging higher prices 

Lack of growth in his consulting business

Despite having years of experience and many successes in helping start ups grow Benjamin found himself having issues reaching new business

As we explored this further it became clear that a bunch of his conversation were being “distorted” by a lot of people pleasing patterns 

He was hesitating closing the sale, asking explicit question or leading with the expertise that he had

This created a gap where he wasn’t sharing as much about the results he was able to provide which left him without a lot of closed sales 

Decision making in prioritizing what needs to be done in her businesses 

As a long time entrepreneur Melanie noticed herself delaying a lot of her decisions 

Unpacking this she realized she had a lot of patterns of avoidance and perfectionism that were holding her back 

This stemmed from a lack of self trust in these decisions due to a lot of historical issues around hiring and team

As we dove deeper into the patterns it became clear that Malanie was carrying a lot of unnecessary pressure to build her business 

This wasn’t helping her and in turn was creating more stress

She was able to walk away with a general blueprint on what she needed to do work on in order to let go of this stress and pressure 

Underworking in her business 

Dionne was experiencing under performance inside of her business and as a result was trying to solve it with better systems and delegation 

This wasn’t really working to get her the results she wanted despite a track record of high performance in her past

As we dove deeper it turned out that she had a lot of avoidance patterns that were creating her tendency to under work on the things in front of her 

Additionally, we dove into how these patterns also stem from self worth challenges and how that ties in to people pleasing 

We also explored how the solutions to this stem from identifying the beliefs that create the issues, discharging the emotions that block her and also embodying a better version of herself inside her business 

Inconsistent output from her VAs

Samantha is a master at putting together training and processes for her virtual team members to follow

However historically only about 30% of her VAs and team are able to follow it exactly

This opened up the conversation to dive into a big topic found with most leaders: delegation and setting outcome standards

As we explored where Samatha was lacking in these it turned out that she had a lot of her “inner drama” come into the mix to not communicate as clearly 

It opened up a deeper conversation of how some of her emotions often times hold her back from fully expressing what she needs to be in her full leadership role 

Visibility 

Having done a lot of inner healing towards his identity, growing up gay and having an autistic brother Markus wasn’t able to translate the empowerment he had in these areas into business specifically visibility 

Diving deeper into how this was all affecting him it was revealed that 4 main limiting patterns were affecting him: Hiding, lack of safety in visibility, needing permission to show up and fear of rejection

Diving deeper into each on the episode Markus was able to see how each one interconnected with the other 

Additionally, he was able to see how it was negatively affecting his business mainly in terms of his selling and marketing efforts
