  • How to deal with negative feedback, reviews, and comments.
This week I wanna talk about negative feedback reviews and comments. When you receive an unfavorable comment or review on your Facebook page, there is a way to handle it.
There's a right way and there's a wrong way. The wrong way is to be reactive, aggressive and fight back because that's only going to encourage the person to bite back and it can turn and blow up into something that no one ever wants.
The more appropriate way to respond to negative comments and reviews on your Facebook page is to first take a deep breath, perhaps go for a walk, talk to a friend or a colleague about the problem to get an outside perspective and then when you're ready, reply to the comment with something like this: Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on my business or our business. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take this on board and bring it forward to the team. Full stop, no open-ended questions.
If they reply, you don't reply back because that's only going to aggravate the situation even more. Alternatively, another response is, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on my business.
I wish to take this conversation offline and deal with the problem directly with you. May I please contact you offline? And then leave it at that. Please be careful not to let your emotions take over before responding. Otherwise, your situation will only get worse.
I hope this helps. And talk to you next week.

  • If you really despise using Facebook for your business, here is some good news for you.
Are you someone who finds Facebook really, really frustrating?
You're not even on it personally yourself that much and you don't really understand how it works, and you actually really don't care? Well, I've got some good news for you and those people who own businesses.
If you really dislike Facebook, your business does not need to be on Facebook, because if you hate it that much, chances are your Facebook marketing is going to be pretty lousy, am I right?
So Facebook and Instagram aren't the be all and end all ways that you can market your business online. Yes, in today's day and age you need to be online, however, there are other things that you can do.
For example, concentrate on making an awesome website, work of your SEO, and that stands for search engine optimization, and make sure that Google loves your website.
So when people go searching for your business, they can find it really easily, and they can use your website and get to the information they need really easily.
These are all things that are in your control. So if you don't like Facebook, I highly recommend that you concentrate on your website, and if you have money to invest, perhaps Google Ads. I hope this helps.

  • Take Another Look At Your Facebook Page
This week's tip, your Facebook page. Imagine it's a physical brick and mortar business. And posts on your page are products on your shelves.
Would your business be looking new, shiny, and interesting to a potential customer? Or would it look like an abandoned warehouse that no one wants to enter?
Your Facebook page is really a digital window into your business. If your business page is an abandoned warehouse, look at it from a potential customer's perspective.
Is this really how you'd like your business perceived to the digital world?

  • Facebook Business Basics
This week's tip, I'd love for businesses who have a Facebook business page to get back down to basics and spend 15 or 20 minutes really having a look at your Facebook page, because ultimately, it's a window into your business.
So have a closer look at your profile image, the cover photo that you've set up, is your about section completed to its full ability, is the services tab and the review tabs activated.
Take a look at all these neat little features that Facebook gives you for free and make sure that you're using them to the best of its ability.

  • Do you know where you need to be?
This week's tip. I want to stress with everyone that we do not need to be on every single social media platform.
    There's Facebook. There's Instagram. There's WhatsApp. There's LinkedIn. There's Snapchat.
There's so many platforms these days that it's just too difficult to keep up and do a really good job on all of them.
So think about your customers. How old are they and where are they hanging out? Because that's where you need to be.
    Until next week, everyone.

  • Business Manager - What is it and Do I need it
This week's tip, Facebook Business Manager, what is it and do I need it?
Well, Business Manager is another Facebook console in the back end of Facebook which allows people to manage quite easily multiple Facebook pages, multiple ad accounts, and multiple Facebook pixels.
It's ideally created for people working within an agency like myself who manages lots of clients and those accounts for and on behalf of others.
However, it could work for you if you own a business that has multiple locations and lots of staff members that you need to quickly and easily allocate Facebook page access to, for example.
However, if you only have one ad account and one Facebook page, I highly recommend that you avoid Business Manager altogether because it is a little bit complicated. And I have noticed that when I connect my Facebook page to Facebook's Business Manager that I do have trouble managing my Facebook page on my mobile using Facebook Page Manager's Page Manager app.
So if you manage multiple ad accounts, multiple pages, and multiple staff, consider Facebook's Business Manager. But if you only manage one account and one page, I'd steer clear from it. I hope this helps.

  • Do I need two facebook profiles?
I often get asked, Jess, do you recommend having two Facebook profiles? One for your friends and family, and one for your business connections. Now, if you had asked me a few weeks ago, I would have said no. Why bother?
It's way too hard to manage two Facebook profiles, just stick with one. But the other day, I had someone who I don't know very well go through my Facebook profile, and like some really old pictures that I had posted on Facebook.
Now, I've been on Facebook for 10 years. So 10 years ago, I was in my early 20's doing what people in your early 20's do. Going out with friends, having a good time, and then posting those experiences on Facebook.
So, when I saw this person going through my content that was so long ago, I felt a little bit uncomfortable about sharing that aspect of my life with someone that I didn't know. So, that made me decide that I wanted to create two different profiles.
One, for my friends and family, and one for everybody else. So, how do I differ from the two? Well, it's quite simple. If I'm prepared to invite someone to my home, share a meal, share a conversation, maybe go out to coffee, and share my life with that person, they join my friends and family.
Everybody else, goes to my professional Facebook profile. At least when I have a professional Facebook profile, I'm still gonna share personal aspects of my life, because I wanna show people that I'm human and I'm approachable, but I control what they see. If that makes sense? And, I only share what I'm comfortable with.
So, there is no right or wrong answer. It really comes down to what you're prepared to show the rest of the world, and share with the rest of the world. I hope this helps, and if you have any questions, please pop them in the comments below.

  • How to increase your page engagement?
How do I increase engagement on my business Facebook page? Well, we all know that Facebook reduces our organic reach when it comes to pages, and what that means is how many people see our page posts for free. So it is difficult to increase engagement on your Facebook page for free but there are a couple of things that you can do. One, people love stories. So tell a story about yourself or an experience that you had, or an experience that your customers have had. Tell a story, add pictures and add videos. Another suggestion is to ask questions. Sometimes a simple question with a coloured background on your Facebook page can generate engagement. And what we want and what Facebook wants is people starting a conversation. So if your page posts can encourage people to start a conversation, it's going to reach more people for free. So if people are tagging themselves or commenting on your posts, take that extra step as well to like and reply to every comment. Perhaps ask an open ended question, that way it keeps the conversation going. These tips and more are in my upcoming online course that I'm putting together at the moment called how to confidently promote your business on Facebook without hiring a social media manager.
