Lesson 7 Tony and Tina

Tony and Tina are very different. Tony likes music. Tina doesn't. Tony is an athlete.
Tina isn't.On the other hand, Tina likes movies, but Tony doesn't. She is a good student, but he isn't.
Tony and Tina are brother and sister, but are they alike? No, they aren't. They're very different.

托尼和蒂娜非常不同。托尼喜欢音乐，蒂娜却不喜欢。托尼是个运动员，蒂娜则不是。
另一方面，蒂娜喜欢电影，但托尼则不喜欢。她是好学生，但他却不是。

64. The Noisy Neighbors 吵闹的邻居

Jack Miller was angry at his neighbors. "They are so inconsiderate!" he said. These neighbors were very loud. They owned three dogs, two birds, and one goat. None of these animals ever shut up. Even more, they loved playing music all day. Jack would not mind this. However, his neighbors played it loud enough for the whole block to hear. "It wouldn't be so bad, if their music wasn't terrible," said Jack.

杰克米勒对他的邻居很生气。他说，“他们太不替他人着想了！”这些邻居很吵。他们有三条狗、两只鸟，还有一头羊，这些动物从不闭嘴。不仅如此，他们还喜欢整天放音乐。杰克并不在意这个，但是他的邻居放音乐的声音整栋楼都能听到。杰克说，“如果他们的音乐没有这么烂，就还不会这么糟糕。”

Luckily, these neighbors soon moved out. Jack couldn't be happier. He would finally enjoy peace and quiet. Unfortunately, the new neighbors arrived with a baby. This baby cried just as loud as all the other things put together.

幸运的是，这些邻居很快就搬走了。杰克高兴坏了，他终于能够享受平静和安宁了。不幸的是，新来的邻居有一个婴儿，那个婴儿的哭声跟其他所有声音加起来的音量一样大。

23. Shave Your Face

A: I hate shaving.

B: Me too.

A: I just cut myself again.

B: Did you use a new blade?

A: It doesn't matter. Old blades cut, new blades cut.

B: Maybe you should use an electric shaver.

A: They make a lot of noise, but they don't give a close shave.

B: Maybe you should stop shaving.

A: And grow a beard?

B: Sure. Why not?

A: Because food and other stuff sticks in my beard.

B: Hmm. Here's an idea. Put cream on your face and have the cat lick it off.

23. 刮胡子

我讨厌刮胡子。

我也是。

我刚刚又把自己割伤了。

你用了新的刀片吗？

这不重要，旧刀片会割伤你，新刀片也会割伤你。

或许你应该用电动剃须刀。

电动剃须刀噪音很大，但是它们不会剃的很干净。

或许你应该停止刮胡子。

留胡子吗？

是的，干嘛不呢？

因为食物和其他东西会卡在我的胡子里。

嗯，我有一个主意。把奶油涂在你的脸上，然后让猫舔干净。

Mrs. Lee: Is this your dog?
Tony : Yes, it is. Why?
Mrs. Lee: Well, your dog chases my cat.
Tony : Oh, I'm sorry.
Mrs. Lee: Please keep your dog on a leash.
Tony : Yes, ma'am.
这是你的狗吗?
李太太：这是你的狗吗?
托 尼：是的。怎么了?
李太太：是这样的，你的狗追我的猫。
托 尼：噢，很抱歉。
李太太：请把你的狗用狗链拴好。
托 尼：是的，夫人。
