Composer, singer and pianist Gon Halevy has created a show of classic Israeli songs rearranged and performed with an eight-piece string orchestra and grand piano. Halevy told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that the nostalgic songs in the repertoire were chosen as a way to unify Israelis. Egypt has allowed the formation of a semi-state in the Sina called the Arab Tribes Union.This new paramilitary umbrella group is led by a prominent Sinai militia leader and businessman Ibrahim Al-Organi. It brought together more than 30 Bedouin tribes from the Sinai and is supported by the military since they are also seen as a crucial ally fighting against terrorism and also as guardians of the Egyptian border with Gaza. In response to the decision by a number of  European Union states to recognise a Palestinian state and  the legal actions against Israel at the international courts in The Hague, Israel has legalised five  settler outposts across Judea and Samaria.

The government also decided to act against Palestinian Authority building infringements in a Wye Accords -designated nature reserve.

KAN's Mark Weiss spoke about the measures with Naomi Kahn, director of International Relations at Regavim.

France’s far right is in pole position after the first round of parliamentary elections that confirmed their dominance in French politics and brought them to the gates of power.

Supporters of Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigration National Rally(PN)  cheered as she said the president’s “Macronist bloc has been all but wiped out”.

RN won 33.1% of the vote, with a left-wing alliance behind on 28%, and the Macron camp behind on 20.76%.

Yossi Shain, a former member of the Knesset from the Yisrael Beteinu Party and professor emeritus of international affairs at Georgetown and Tel Aviv University, said US President Joe Biden can’t be written off so quickly despite his dismal performance at the presidential debate. Shain told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that it wasn’t good for Israel to have an American leadership that does not project power and control over world affairs. But, he said, four months is a long time in politics and many things can happen.
