Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to present his new government in the coming weeks. Among the reforms sought his prospective coalition partners, is the so-called ‘override’ clause. This provision would empower the Knesset to circumvent Supreme Court rulings that deem laws unconstitutional. 

Dr. Amir Fuchs, a senior researcher at the Israel Democracy Institute, spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about the override clause, and its impact, if passed.

Events like the terror attack near Ariel can set off anxiety and trauma in an individual -- whether they have experienced such situations directly or not. The NATAL Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center, currently marking its 25th year of activities, runs a helpline that provides immediate support and also longer term guidance when needed. In the wake of  Tuesday's attack, NATAL bolstered its support line, which has seen an uptick in calls. Dr. Tamar Lavi, a psychologist at NATAL, spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about the organization's activities in the wake of such events.
