Karate in the Garage

Here we are. Episode 200. Life being what it is we weren't able to do an extra special thing in time for this release, but we do have some fun guests planned for very near future epsiodes.

But for now, moisten your ear canals with our discussion of Len Wiseman's remake of Paul Verhoeven's 1990 classic, Total Recall with Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, and featuring Bill Nighy and Bryan Cranston.

Returning with our first newly recorded movie episode since we recorded Josie and the Pussycats back in March!

This month, it's REMAKES THAT NOBODY ASKED FOR.

First up, is José Padilha's Robocop from 2014 with Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Keaton, along with a solid supporting cast.

The beloved 1987 original has spawned two sequels, a TV show, and a long list of "starts and stops" in bringing the franchise back over the past 35 years.

It took them 14 years for this remake to hit the big screen. Was it worth the wait?

Hey, I said Friday and it's still Friday in Hawaii...

**This episode was recorded back in early March bedfore Freddy headed to Atlanta for One Fast Move.**

We've got 2001's Josie and the Pussycats starring Rachel Leigh Cook, Rosario Dawson, and Tara Reid as the rockin' trio just waiting for their big break while playing huge gigs like the local bowling alley. Along for the ride, and playing their nastiness to the hilt, are Parker Posey and Alan Cumming as the record executives that pluck the girls from Riverdale obscurity and "help" them become pop superstars literally overnight. That's how the music business works, right? Written and Directed by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (both from Can't Hardly Wait) serve up the dense satire on what happens when music and commerce collide.
