Karla Welch is back on the show! Karla first joined us back in 2018 on our Life Lessons mini-series to discuss her incredible styling career, her clothing brand, xKarla, and more. Since we last chatted, Karla founded The Period Company, which offers affordable period products, including reusable pads and absorbent underwear in a variety of styles and fabrics. The brand is sold at retailers such as Walmart, Urban Outfitters, and Amazon, and has donated over 1 million pairs of period underwear as part of its effort to end period poverty worldwide. In addition to her company, Karla also continues to style an enormous roster of talent including Justin Bieber and two of our favorite Barbie stars, America Ferrera and Greta Gerwig. On top of all that, she’s also a MasterClass teacher, founder of the styling app Wishi, and co-founder of the creative studio The Welch’s Creative.

Mara Roszak has had quite a multifaceted career within the hairstyling industry. After enrolling in beauty school at just 16 years old, Roszak landed an assistant role at Chris McMillan's iconic salon, where she quickly earned her own chair. While there, she also began working on red carpet events and press tours with her first celebrity client, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and today, her client roster has grown to include Emma Stone, Michelle Yeoh, and Zoe Saldaña. Aside from her hairstyling career, she's embarked on entrepreneurial pursuits. In 2016, she opened her own salon called Mare, and in 2021, she launched her line of clean, high-performance hair products—Rōz.

Mandy Lee, or @oldloserinbrooklyn, has made a name for herself creating thoughtful, well-researched fashion content online. Since starting her TikTok during the pandemic, Lee has amassed over half a million followers and become an authority in the world of trend forecasting. Lee started the viral #75HardStyleChallenge and hosts an annual Met Gala watch party on TikTok that is not to be missed. Last year, she predicted that Doja Cat would dress as Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, and over 70 million of her viewers watched as her prediction came true. This week, Lee joins us to chat about the impact of her style challenge—and she’s even sharing her coveted Met Gala predictions for this year!

In 2017, the outdoor space surrounding Allison Messner’s home in Northern California was destroyed by a devastating wildfire. In the aftermath, Allison and her husband decided to hire a landscape designer to help them rebuild their green space, but they quickly realized how difficult, long, and expensive the process was going to be. The two began developing an idea to make the process more efficient and accessible by incorporating new technology, and in 2018, they launched Yardzen, a digital landscape design and build platform. Today, the company operates in all 50 states with a network of hundreds of designers and architects. But before Allison disrupted the landscape industry, she reported as a journalist in Alaska, worked at a prestigious PR firm, was CMO of the tech company OpenDNS when it was acquired by Cisco for $635 million, and even started her own venture capital firm.
