In this week’s episode, meet Rachel Block-Stewart. Rachel Block-Stewart is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. Rachel received a MS in Applied Psychology from Eastern Washington University in 2011. Rachel has worked in the local school system, local community health centers and over the past 4 years as part of a local group practice. Rachel has earned a certification in yoga therapy through International Association of Yoga Therapists, certification in EMDR through EMDR International Association and is currently working on completing a certificate in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy through Brown University. Rachel currently focuses on providing individual therapy to teens and adults struggling with complex PTSD, chronic health conditions and challenging life transitions using insight-oriented, mindful and somatic modalities such as EMDR, yoga therapy, mindfulness and parts work approaches. Rachel works to build a warm, supportive, and collaborative relationship with each client to help them overcome their current struggles, reach their goals, and a live a life of meaning, value, and joy. Rachel provides qualified supervision to those seeking licensure as mental health counselors in the state of Florida. Rachel is also the owner of Mindfulness Based Yoga Therapy where she offers group Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy programs and individualized and group yoga therapy for those navigating challenging mood states such as depression, anxiety and trauma.

 In this week’s episode, meet Melissa Srolovitz & Stephanie Pearce.

Mel Srolovitz, MS, MM, MT-BC, FT (she/her) is an INELDA-certified death doula, Fellow in
Thanatology, and board-certified music therapist. Mel has been working in end-of-life care for
approximately ten years, and is currently employed at Penn Medicine Hospice. Over the past
ten years, Mel has had the privilege of publishing with the Journal of Palliative Medicine, and
received one of her master’s degrees in Palliative Care through the University of Maryland,
Baltimore. Currently, Mel is completing her doctoral work at Thomas Jefferson University, where
she is exploring ways to move serious illness care more upstream within the general healthcare
system. One of Mel’s passions is engaging with the community, and specifically collaborating
with and educating folks on such topics as music therapy in end-of-life care, psychosocial
palliative care, death doula support, and grief processes, and has presented to many
organizations and universities, including University of Maryland, University of California San
Francisco, West Chester University, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine,
and Weill-Cornell Medicine.

Stephanie Pearce is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in PA & NJ. She obtained her MSW from Rutgers University in 2002 & has worked in the social work field for 23 years in settings ranging from a family crisis unit to an outpatient setting. Ms. Pearce currently facilities a private practice in the Pocono, PA area that customizes services for individuals & couples impacted by grief & loss across the life span, maternal mood disorders, reproductive trauma, developmental trauma & infertility. Ms. Pearce is a certified EMDR therapist, certified in Brainspotting, a certified perinatal mental health professional & a certified grief informed professional. She is passionate about participating in ongoing learning & is awaiting her Thanatology professional certification exam results. She enjoys working with students in the academic environment. Ms. Pearce also works as an adjunct instructor through Grand Canyon University, as well as supporting students in their social work field work programs through Marywood University. She facilitates CEU trainings for the Nurturing Mamas Network & for NASW-PA. Stephanie enjoys hiking with her family including an energetic rescue dog. She is a lifelong NY Jets & Mets fan.
