Tennessee initially banned kratom but has since lifted the ban on natural kratom while maintaining restrictions on extracts. This change demonstrates a growing understanding and evolving legal stance within the kratom community. States like Wisconsin, Indiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Rhode Island, and Vermont still have bans in place. Although efforts have been made to introduce the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) in some of these states, political dynamics have complicated the process, often delaying progress in favor of other legislation.
