  • 'Teen Takeovers' coming to Utah

Are the kids actually alright? From beach closures to assaults, is it just youth delinquency or is it something deeper? It usually starts with a social media post that results in thousands of teens descending on one spot. And as you might imagine, all those teenagers together tend to result in chaos galore. Ahead of the weekend, police in Syracuse are actively warning parents of a "teen takeover" that's rumored to happen. Inside Sources discusses the dangers of unsupervised teenage hijinks and the potential legal consequences that could follow.

  • Longtime White House teleprompter operator facing allegations of insider training

Insider trading isn't new, and it's not legal. But a long-time White House teleprompter operator -- the person who'd run the teleprompter for the President's speeches -- is now out of a job over allegations that he used privileged information to bet on what the President would say in his speeches. Unfortunately, Greg and Holly say it seems pretty on par with the way things have been going in Washington. And now, lawmakers like Senator John Curtis are calling for harsher and more thorough crackdowns on insider trading.

  • Pres. Trump continues to cast doubt on 2020 election results

The Trump Administration is renewing its claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen or tampered with by foreign governments. In a primetime speech last night, the President claimed multiple times that China was involved in the election, that they hacked voter databases, and that the so-called "deep state" was behind a massive cover-up. Then this morning, Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin reaffirmed those claims. We hear a bit from the DHS Secretary live, and then Greg and Holly share their frustration with the continued misinformation on the 2020 election.

    • Allegations of cheating on driver's license tests in California

Thousands of California drivers are being accused of cheating on their driver's test. Now, roughly 11,000 drivers will need to retake their written tests. The DMV says the written tests showed "irregularities," but that was it; no other details as to how the cheating supposedly occurred. Greg and Holly finish the show by sharing the things they wish they had learned when they first got their licenses.

    • Utah's national parks ranked as some of the happiest parks… thanks to selfies?

Greg and Holly love Utah's national parks. They're great places to get away and enjoy the great outdoors. And they're not alone -- the parks here see record-breaking attendance year after year, and now there's a new study that ranks three of Utah's national parks among America's happiest parks. But it's the way this was figured out that really made the team chuckle -- an AI tool ran through hundreds of selfies taken at the country's 63 national parks and examined the people in the pictures. The bigger the smile, the happier the park.

    • Americans continue to lose trust in higher education

“Why are Americans still feeling kind of ‘meh’ about higher education?” It’s a good question, and it’s also the headline of a new Deseret News piece examining changing education trends across the country. Deseret News reporter Jason Swensen dug into polling both in Utah and around the country, which finds more and more Americans have little or no trust in the country's institutions of higher education. He joins Greg and Holly to share more about what he found.

    • Utah AG joins other attorneys general to push for more robocall changes

It’s arguably one of the most annoying things to happen, and it often happens multiple times a day and even in the middle of the night. Robocalls. Who doesn’t hate these kinds of calls — the ones that never stop, even when you tell them to? And no matter how many scam call filters you have on your phone, it’s never good enough. Now, Utah Attorney General Derek Brown is joining other attorneys general in pushing the FCC to do more to end them. He joins Inside Sources with more.

    • Tough Conversations with Kids: How parents can work with other parents to help children thrive

Parents: who hasn't felt like a failure at some point? Those thoughts and feelings can make it hard to keep a close relationship with your kids. And not having that relationship can make it even harder to have tough, important conversations with your children. As part of our "Tough Conversations with Kids" coverage this week, we speak one-on-one with licensed marriage and family therapist Dr. Liz Hale. She shares insights and tips to help parents address issues of violence with their kids, while also ensuring parents maintain their own emotional stability and stamina.

    • Domestic violence calls are up

The summer season and the ongoing World Cup are both being credited for a rise in domestic violence calls here in Utah and around the world. In the United Kingdom, a charity looking at DV calls says they've seen domestic violence cases rise regardless of who wins and loses the match. Greg and Holly discuss this troubling trend and share resources to help those in need.
