Im 14.–17. Jahrhundert begannen große Gruppen von Menschen im Rheingebiet, scheinbar unfreiwilig und sehr ausdauernd zu tanzen. Zeitgenossen taten das als unterhaltsames oder irritierendes, aber nicht weiter tiefgreifendes Phänomen ab und waren uneins, ob das ein Fall für die Medizin oder die Kirche sei. Das änderte sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte. Mit dem Historiker Gregor Rohmann verfolgen wir nach, wie die »Tanzwuth« als ansteckende Krankheit konstruiert wurde – und welche Vorannahmen und Denkmuster sie bis heute prägt. Das Gespräch führt uns vom Alchemiker Paracelsus bis zur NS-Propaganda und von Pest und Cholera bis zu illegalen Technobeats.

Aber: Es sind auch wesentliche Operationen der Kunst- und Wissensproduktion in der Moderne. Das jedenfalls sagt die Literaturwissenschaftlerin Juliane Vogel von der Uni Konstanz, die umfassend zur Geschichte des Schneidens und Klebens um 1900 geforscht hat: Ohne Schere und Klebstoff sei die Moderne nicht zu denken.

Statt eines einzigen Sendungsthemas haben wir diesmal zwei Themen aus unserem Freundeskreis: Johanna erzählt von ihren Recherchen in Marseille über die dortige Exilliteratur früher und heute - dabei hat sie unter anderem einen verfolgten sudanesischen Dichter getroffen. Mit Camille sprechen wir über ihre Masterarbeit: "The women's sphere - Die Küche in Architekturkonzepten des Material Feminism". Wir haben sie unter anderem gefragt, was diese Ideen aus dem 19. Jahrhunderts heute noch anschlussfähig macht. Und zu guter Letzt haben wir einen Überraschungsgast aus der Küchensphäre eingeladen...

Kulturwelle Dauerrauschen hatte am 8. Mai 2019 Besuch aus einem kritischen Lesekreis für rechte und neurechte Literatur. Nicht erst seit Thilo Sarrazin gibt es einen Markt für rechtes Gedankengut in der Literatur. Die Grenzen sind fließend und wer nun wirklich rechts ist und wer nicht, lässt sich nicht zwingend abschließend beantworten. Welche Motive sich durch viele dieser Bücher ziehen, ob man durch die kritische Lektüre in die Köpfe der Autoren (die meisten sind Männer) schauen kann und warum die Brüder Löwenherz da noch mit reingezogen werden, waren unter anderem die Themen dieser Sendung.
