    Publisher's Summary:
The first adult novel set in the world of the New York Times best-selling Nightshade series, Captive delivers a steamy, forbidden romance between sworn enemies drawn together by an irrepressible desire.
Twenty-five-year-old Tristan Doran enjoys a life of incredible power and privilege. As a direct descendant of the Keepers - witches who have embraced dark magic - he defers to no one but his overlord, Lord Bosque Mar. For most of his life, Tristan has been kept out of the centuries-old Witches War, his bloodline too valuable to risk in battle.
But when a beautiful, young human Searcher named Sarah is captured and made a prisoner in his Irish castle, Tristans infatuation with her flings him headlong into the fray. Captive and captor, unable to contain their longing, embark on a passionate, forbidden romance together - only to learn that their love is at the heart of a prophecy predicting the downfall of the Keepers ages old reign.
Captive explores the darker side of the richly imagined Nightshade universe, a fantasy world of powerful dark witches, shape-shifting wolf warriors, and fascinating history. The first of three erotic novels, Captive delves deeply into the fiery, illicit romance of two young lovers whose very desires invite their doom.

A new look into the world of nightshade, adult style!
I was excited to read this book when I found out Robertson had written it. I loved the Nightshade series and really wanted to see what the sexier side of this life would bring. I was not disappointed.

I have to say that this story was quite captivating. I wasn't sure if I would like it. I had recently read Snakeroot and wasn't as impressed by it as I was by the Nightshade trilogy. But this book turned out to be surprisingly good. I love how the story ties in to the Nightshade trilogy. I have to say it might be a bit hard to write this review without giving things away, so I will be brief.
I have to say that I loved how the book dove right into the story of Tristan and Sarah.

    Totally Awesome!!!
This is a truly awesome new series!! Great complex characters, and a fascinating new world of fae creatures, intrique, action and mystery. Oh, did I forget passion? It sucked me right in, and kept me turning the pages. Also very well written. I advise reading the previous book first -- "Soul Sucker". So excited to find this new author in the genre of supernatural romance!!
    Finally know Vid's backstory!
I wondered why the first book said next to nothing about the hero'sback story. Glad it was answered here. I do miss the days where a story like this would have been sold as ONE book and not two incomplete books if I hadn't taken a leap of faith and bought the sequel! Publishers and writers...damned irritating of you, so please stop doing that! Thank you.
I always enjoy Kate Pearce's work

    Two Cornerstones; Almost Three
SENSUALITY RATING: NO profanity; NO Euphemistic "code words; NO sexual encounters
GENRE: Adventure fiction; YA; Romance; Travelogue
SETTING: Castle Ahlen to Sheas Harbor to Thandrel's Fjord
CENTRAL MALE CHARACTERS: Prince TORIAN AHLEN - Ahlen Cornerstone; GARITH - protector, close friend, born leader; RINK - 13 year old stable hand becomes flag bearer.
CENTRAL FEMALE CHARACTERS: EMARIYA WARREN - 2nd Stone, daughter of a Roth and Warren Cornerstones; VALENCIA ROTH WARREN - controlling; JESSA â great friend, loving and faithful servant; CARAH - protector, guider.
SYNOPSIS: Emariya and her betrothed, Prince Torian, travel to Sheas Harbor to look for her father, Lord Oren Warren. She believes that he is being held prisoner there. The Separatists believe that 3 cornerstones converging making one stone will be too much power in one person's hands. Torian's army is "forced" to split directions along the journey to Sheas.
WHAT I LIKED: Guidance by a great grandmother. And, a sacrifice and life is given.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Sometimes Emariya and Torian's relationship was a bit sappy.
OVERALL RATING: (5) stars because I really enjoy stories about various Kingdoms, not all the same, and magical abilities. Cannot wait for happenings in Eltar in book 3.
    Hard work, but worth it
I found this second instalment of the Souls of the Stones series very difficult to engage with, but I think pushing through that is entirely worthwhile.
The first part of this book is spent on worldbuilding, giving us a better context of the landscape, the people, & the changes in our main characters.
Once you get through that, however, a real gem pops up.
Our heroes do a pretty good job despite a lot of opportunities to fall off the bandwagon. There's a good mix of vulnerability, fear, growth & learning.
It's rare to find a male character who will admit to being unsure how to deal with a situation. That impressed me.
I also really loved seeing the bond between all the characters (the women in particular) change through circumstance & experience. There's a really clear difference between how these young adults handle familiar situations & different/new ones. The difference between knowing the theory & understanding the practical also comes in. These things are all used to great effect to grow the characters.
    Wonderful stuff.
    ~More magic and more romance~
I absolutely adore Emariya Warren. Her strength, her compassion, and her composure are all traits young women should admire. She reminds me of that girl you know that seems so perfect. You really want to just hate her, but you can't because you know you'd be missing out on an amazing friendship. She's not someone who drops everything to stay with the guy she's fatefully glued too. She has her priorities straight and her friends and family are at the top of that list. I cannot stress how much I appreciate this in a protagonist.

Great SciFi Romance, I Loved It!
A SciFi romance with all the makings of a fairy tale, this story has the evil stepmother, the absent father, a handsome prince and a neglected princess, but with lots of exciting action, alien landscapes and an amazing space station. Bianca Ross is the only child and heir of a brilliant father who built the Mars space elevator and is now away making plans to build an Earth space elevator. An engineer, Bianca is sent to Mars from the space station Eris to complete the acquisition of RedIce, a mining company that her stepmother Victoria is eager to add to their holdings. Cesare Chan will do anything to prevent the sale of RedIce, which is his inheritance and lifeâs work, and which also enables him to hide the slaves heâs rescued and employed in the mines. He believes Bianca, as the representative of her familyâs company, is the enemy. The more he gets to know her, the more he realizes that sheâs much more innocent than he believed, and she can use his help to thwart the evil Victoria. She has been plotting Biancaâs demise, as well as planning to dominate not only Mars, but all of Sol. Bianca doesnât know her stepmother has been plotting against her, and as the attempts to kill her become more blatant, sheâll need help from the charming Cesare to fight Victoria and reclaim her heritage. I loved the characterâs little flaws, from Cesareâs space sickness to Biancaâs nave belief in the innocence of the familyâs company; they made them even more likeable and believable. I enjoyed all of the action, the descriptions of Mars and the space station, and the Mars inhabitants who have physically changed as a result of hundreds of years on Mars. Iâm happy to have discovered a great new author, and Iâll be looking forward to reading more great stories from this writer.

    Members Reviews:
Great read until someone decided to jump the shark...
    WHAT?
    Spoilers
I simply was excited to get my hands on this third in the St Croix series because she ended the second book with essentially having the poor main character's Mr. Darcy killed off. Brutal! This third book went along well - Cherry's addiction wasn't pretty but seemed a logical conclusion giving her grief and situation. Her eventual relationship with the Ringmaster. Great. The surprising and almost cinematic conclusion to the SweetTooth and Jack the Ripper hunt. Excellent! Absolutely didn't see the identity reveal coming - I guessed way off!
Okay, this trilogy is wrapping up nicely. I liked it, I am going to recommend it but why are there so many pages left? How long does it take to tidy up Cherry's happily ever after dammit?
Nope - no nicely tied bow. Wizards. What in the world is a Hogswart worth wizard duel between Ashmore Weasley and Dr. Jekyll /Mr. Hyde / Ringmaster cropping up here? Nobody knows, the whole world feels knocked free of some previously well written out moorings. It's like Ms Cooper submitted a lovely trilogy and someone said "hey, lets milk this" so she threw out the last 20 pages and went careening off in a tasseled suit on her motorcycle to a cliche stunt as referred to in my title..... I am not sure I can buy the next installment! I wanted a strong ending to a well done story and I am not sure its going to happen...
Immersive, annoying, fascinating, but the ending...?
This is one of the more mysterious series that I read; I am never sure if it will have a happy ending (doubtful), but the protagonist, Cherry, is worth the time. This book is an opium drenched dream and I was never really sure if the perceptions were real or based on foggy imaginations. I accept this drug fueled part of Cherry's life and only wish the last bit of the book hadn't occurred, or at least without better build up. I want to fight for Cherry, for Micah, and for all the Sweets, but it is hard to conceive of a way they will end up ok. Spoiler: the final part of the book featured a last minute battle with some sort of plotted nasty debasement of Cherry for money making?, and an unbelievable coup to retrieve her. Throwing in a sorcery battle didn't bother me, but the ability for pieces to be put into place in such a short, unexpected time frame did.

    Members Reviews:
Lee Harpster nails a never-say-die street gypsy
What did you love best about The Legend of Victor Standish?
I loved how Lee Harpster caught the personalities of the various characters. His Victorian Alice Wentworth captured her haunted essence. He switched accents from Old West to Victorian to street urban without missing a beat.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Victor Standish and his refusal to give into the fear and doubts of his life. His sense of humor made me laugh repeatedly.
What does Lee Harpster bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Mr. Harpster brings a depth of performance to his narration. His comic timing makes the puns and snarky comments of Victor come alive.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extremes. I just had a great time.
OK if youre a 14 yer old boy
Pretty lame story and narrated equally lame. Ridiculous premise, characters and dialogue. Unless youre a kid, dont bother.
    Lee Harpster Delivers!
What made the experience of listening to The Legend of Victor Standish the most enjoyable?
It's always interesting to "hear" the characters you've fallen in love with, and this audio book is extra special. I've "known" these characters for a while and it was enjoyable hearing them come to life thanks to Mr. Harpster. There were numerous characters and accents and he did a pretty great job keeping them straight. Listening also helps with details I miss while reading.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Victor and Alice are the standouts, of course. He's a kid with a big heart and more courage than is sometimes wise. I'm partial to Sam, too. He's definitely the person you want to have at your back.
What about Lee Harpsters performance did you like?
Keeping track of all the different characters, their accents and individuality-a massive job and he did a pretty great job of it. He also helped me learn how to pronounce a few words.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Take a deep breath and don't let go!
    Any additional comments?
I'd recommend this book (in any format) to those who love a great adventure, science fiction/fantasy/modern western/gothic/romance/horror. Yeah, I think that might cover it. Really, Roland's books cover lots of genres and should appeal to a wide variety of readers.

After he saves Willow's life, he thinks she's just the woman to teach him. But when he seduces her, he's not expecting her to teach him how to love.
As Willow and Cullendor draw closer to Rowan, Cullendor begins to wonder whether power is really more important to him than love. But once Willow discovers the secrets he's been hiding, how will he convince her that his feelings are real?

Dragon love, human love. With love as a common denominator things turn out right.
A dragon in human form aids our heroin in her escape. Her sister is using telepathy to contact the heroine. Our hero says he will lead the heroine to her sister who is asking for help. Lovemaking to remove her virginity is agreed to by both parties, thus forming a tentative bond between the two. Obstacles still remain to be overcome by both hero and heroine. We have a good ending when all gets resolved. This book is asking for me to get the first two books in the series. That sounds like a plan to me.

Rebecca York, Please don't change your style!
I love Rebecca York's work! She has characters who pull you in. The men are masculine and strong, without being overbearing. The women are feminine, with intelligence and strength, that make them a perfect match. I love a happy ending! To many authors, leave you depressed, with sad endings. I never regret reading her stories all the way through!
Rebecca York's books make my day
I cold read Rebecca York's books all day. I love how she continues a story as well as how she writes it. I have my favorites and this is one of them.
    WONDERFUL STORY
I LOVE THE WORKS OF REBECCA YORK, WEATHER SHE IS WRITING ABOUT WOLFS, MAGIC OR MYSTERY I READ THEM ALL, THE STORIES ARE ALWAYS INTERESTING FROM COVER TO COVER SHE IS REALLY A GREAT WRITER.
    A Magical Review
The third book in the Chronicles of Arandal takes the reader on an adventure that takes place in a fantasy kingdom full of dragons and magic.
The characters are bewitching in their innocence and draw the readers into the story as they discover the wonder of first love. While the romance does progress at a face pace, the author conveys all the emotions of the young couple's first sexual encounter, their feelings of betrayal, their loyalty and finally their love for each other in a very convincing manor.
The journey of Willow and Cullendor to the Kingdom of Arandal is full of danger from unknown enemies that they must overcome. This keeps the reader intrigued with the story, but I feel that it could have been expanded some and made into a bit longer story.
Overall I found the story to be a cute, enjoyable read, that while fast paced was still a very entertaining read for all.
This book was provided to me from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

    Fun, but poorly edited.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I went on and read the sequels, but initially the poor computer editing frustrated me and broke into the story. Many of the words were wrong for the context, but were proper words. She's became he's, they became the etc.
    Charming!
Playful, nail-biting scared, pretty much like every day life- IF you just are coming into your own powers....
Thank you for a good read, I am looking for more!
    Great paranormal romance
This was a great paranormal romance. The characters were well-developed. I hope the author plans to create a series out of this story because it is really intriquing and there is a lot there that could be further developed into a series. I highly recommend this book!
    whimsical fantasy romance
The three Fates (Lachesis, Atropos, and Clitho) arrive at Vivian Kinelly's Portland home seeking help from her Aunt Eugenia who recently died. The trio was stripped of their magical power for one year in an effort to bring some competition into the magical realm in an effort to revitalize it in the age of scientific skepticism. Now someone is trying to kill them while they lack the ability to perform magic.
The threesome realizes that Vivian is not ready to be their champion so they ask her to find master magician Henry Baron, owner of a local pet store under the name of Dexter Grant. Vivian explains to Dexter what is going on and he knows she is the soul mate he has waited an eternity for. Sparks fly between them even as they intercede in an effort to keep the "retired" Fates from harm.
Readers will find SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE simply irresistible because the whimsical story line contains characters that make magic so real that it feels more like a branch of science. The story line never takes itself seriously while providing sub-genre fans with an amusing war of the magicians (reminiscent of the Corman's movie The Raven). The lead couple is a charmed pair who one does not need a crystal ball to feel they belong together. However, the three Fates and the new wave substitutes turn Kristine Grayson's fun plot into a jocular joyful experience.
    Harriet Klausner
    Unfinished but still witty
"Simply Irresistible" by Kristine Grayson feels unfinished. Plot lines are left hanging, and if you have not read the Grayson's other books, you might feel a little confused by the actions of some characters.

    Publisher's Summary:
Getting mixed up with the underground thievery ring run by demons had been easy... it was escaping them once they decided to kill her that Lacey was having trouble with. When her partner dies just to give her a head start, she doesn't let his sacrifice go to waste and runs like a horde of demons are chasing her... which they are. How was she to know that her escape route would lead her straight into the middle of a demon war and into the arms of a sexy stranger that was more powerful than her worse nightmare?
Ren thought he'd caught him a little thief only to find that hidden under layers of boy clothes and dirt was the most desirable temptress he'd ever seen. Realizing that she'd been branded with a demon's mark and seemed to have a death wish, Ren quickly decides that the only way to keep her alive is to not let her out of his sight. If the demons were suicidal enough to think they were going to steal her away from him, he would give them their own death wish.

    OMG the author has left me hanging ? ! ? ! ?
Okay, guess this is one Soap Opera that got cancelled in mid season LOL. Don't no when, if ever this series will continue. All I do know is, this last book ended like all the rest. No Ending! Oh well all 12 books got me from home to work and back for a few months. I do not think I will be looking for the next book in this series. By the time another one comes out, I'll have forgotten all the cast members. :-(
    Like an unfinished book
This book has no ending. It is worse than one that makes you want to read the next book. It is like they just didn't finish the book and published it anyway.
