This week our guest, Kelly Kimsey, not only has almost three decades of analytical experience with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and is the President of IALEIA’s Northern Florida Chapter, but also lives 400 feet away from our very own host. Kelly’s analyst badge story involves an investigation into Florida’s Department of Corrections for corruption that helped remove over a dozen employees and reshaped the department for the better.

Dr Susanne Knabe-nicol set up Police Science Dr to create a broad range of research-based videos and the plan is for a global communication platform for researchers and practitioners as well as a collection of police-relevant courses, all in one place. Susanne happens to have the desire to make research accessible and able to create online courses and interactive videos to help the policing community.

In this week’s episode, Joseph (Joe) Ryan takes us through his transition from military intelligence analysis to local police / crime analysis, as well as his involvement with police / sworn associations.  He discusses his work with the Northwest Regional Crime Analyst Network (NORCAN) as their President and talks about the importance of learning from those around you and having advocates.
