Sofia: Sì molto carino qui - avevi ragione. Però che puzza ...

Antonio: Ah guarda il maneggio - dovremmo fare una cavalcata. Che ne dici?

Sofia: Parli come se fossi un fantino esperto! Comunque non ho nessuna intenzione di montare un cavallo. Magari se restassimo qui il weekend potrei iscrivermi a un breve corso di equitazione.

Antonio: Facendo qualche lezione secondo me ti passerebbe la paura e poi ti divertiresti. Comunque, io ho un certo languorino. Meglio affrettarsi verso il ristorante altrimenti non troveremo più un tavolo libero.

Sofia: Ma non hai prenotato?!

Antonio: Non c'ho pensato e poi possiamo sempre aspettare un pochino. Non sarebbe la fine del mondo.

Sofia: Se sapessi che fame ho io... stamattina non ho neanche fatto colazione.

Antonio: Dai Sofia non comportarti come se fossi una bambina. Guarda c'è un tavolo libero vicino al laghetto. Prendiamo posto.

Antonio: Here we are. The air is fresh around here.

Sofia: Yes, it's very nice here…you were right. But what a smell!

Antonio: Ah, look, the riding school…we should go for a ride. What do you think?

Sofia: You speak as if you were an expert jockey! Anyhow, I have no intention of riding a horse. Maybe if we stayed here for the weekend I would join a short riding course.

Antonio: If you took some lessons, I think that your fears would disappear and you'd have fun. Anyhow, I have some pangs of hunger. We better hurry toward the restaurant, otherwise we won't find a free table anymore.

Sofia: You didn't book it?

Antonio: No, I didn't think about it, and we can always wait a little bit. It wouldn't be the end of the world.

Sofia: If you knew how hungry I was... I didn't even have breakfast this morning.

Antonio: Sofia, don't behave like a child. Look, there's a free table by the pond. Let's sit down.

Maria: Ciao Peter! Che sorpresa! Che ci fai da queste parti?

Peter: Sono appena uscito da Palazzo Reale. Ho visitato la mostra di Leonardo, appena aperta qualche giorno fa. Tu ci sei già stata?

Maria: No, non ancora. E’ quella sui disegni inediti di Leonardo?

Peter: Esattamente.

Maria: Non sono potuta andarci. Sto preparando un esame di matematica.

Peter: Povera te! E’ proprio un esame impegnativo.

Maria: Lo so, è un mattone! Ma devo assolutamente passarlo.

Peter: Non hai chiesto aiuto a tuo fratello che è ormai ingegnere?

Maria: Non ha potuto aiutarmi, è sempre occupato al lavoro. E comunque, com’è la mostra?

Peter: La mostra è decisamente affascinante, ma molto affollata. Infatti sono arrivato alle 2;30 circa e non ci sono potuto entrare prima delle 3;15. E oggi non è nemmeno domenica! Pazzesco!

Maria: Ne è valsa la pena?

Peter: Certo! Ho voluto visitarla dopo qualche giorno dall’apertura. Forse per questo motivo c’era così tanta gente.

Maria: Sì, probabilmente. Ma sei riuscito ad ottenere almeno lo sconto studenti?

Peter: Mannaggia! Me ne sono dimenticato!

Maria: [ride] Dai, la prossima volta. Magari ci ritorniamo insieme!

Maria: Peter, what a surprise! What are you doing here?

Peter: I just left Palazzo Reale. I was visiting the exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci, which opened a couple of days ago. Have you been already?

Maria: No, not yet. Is that the one on the unpublished drawings of Leonardo?

Peter: Exactly.

Maria: I haven't been able to go. I'm preparing for the math exam.

Peter: Poor you! It is a really difficult exam.

Maria: I know. It's hard to process everything, but I certainly have to pass it.

Peter: Have you asked for help from your brother, who is now an engineer?

Maria: He hasn't been able to help me. He is always busy at work. By the way, how was the exhibition?

Peter: The exhibition was fascinating but also very crowded. I arrived at two-thirty and couldn't get in before three-fifteen. And today is not even Sunday! Crazy!

Maria: Was it worth it?

Peter: Sure. I have wanted to visit it since its opening. That's probably why there were so many people.

Maria: Yes, probably. Did you get the student discount?

Peter: Darn! I forgot about it.
