Today's episode is another random selection of poems from www.iwrotethisforyou.me and some funny stories and appearances by my wonderful boyfriend Zach. He says hello three times, in a row, with furious waving. Because we all need new friends and more hellos in our lives. Anyway, please enjoy this magnificent episode. It would be fantastic if you'd give each of these immensely talented ladies a follow while you're exploring their pages!
Nikki Giovanni is an incredible poet in her late 70's who is continuously challenging the current social stratosphere and speaking up for everything she believes in and then some. Her poetry is remarkable, honest, authentic, and a blast to read. The conversations her pieces can begin for people of all walks and opinions have personally been invaluable to my growth as a poet and creator. I cannot wait to hear what her poetry sparks in you and around you!
This episode is a great way of telling stories, changing the world for the better, and engaging children in the process.

This episode is filled with stories, memories, and of course poetry by Theodore Roethke. This is also one of the first poetry books I picked out on my own and read the entirety of in a single sitting. Which i think is part of what makes these poems so special to me.
Mahogany L. Browne has so many wonderful projects, poems and essays to choose from, but today I picked some of her more easily accessible poems to share with you. If you enjoyed, and even if you didn't I highly suggest you invest in a copy of any of her books - especially "Woke Baby" to continue sparking conversations and elaborating on your perspectives of American History in the Making.
In today's episode, I consulted the book "Best New Poets 2020" and shared random poems from the collection. No matter how many times I review these pages, I find new things and I am continuously moved by the voices being showcased here. And I am thrilled to be able to share a few of them with you today. Please pick up a copy of this collection and thrive in it for yourselves!

In this episode, I shared a mere handful of the hundreds of poems written by Thomas Hardy. But each poem selected for this episode embraces a different method and approach to writing poetry in the early 1800's - which I found fascinating - and hope you will as well!
