Today is a great day for all of you Corporate Moms who struggle with burnout, Mom guilt, and taking time for you. Coach Aimee Greczmiel and I had a great conversation on putting you back on your priority list, letting go of Mom guilt and so much more. I have been hearing so much about “burnout” and it is something that is preventable and it’s up to YOU to take back your life and design it. I know that can seem challenging; I get it. As a former Corp Mom who had littles, a giant commute with a ton of responsibility at work and home, plus going back to school to certify as a coach and trainer back in the late 90s early 2000’s I still remember it well. I remember struggling to find the balance (and you all know I don’t believe in balance, shout out to harmony), and something had to give. Well, often it was ME who was not giving to me. Talk about burnout on steroids. I look back and wish we had someone who was talking about support for Corporate Moms at the time. Sure, we had brown bag lunches (did I just date myself) that was “talking” about work/life balance and dealing with stress, and that was great but there was no follow-up or support. Enter in coaches, let’s all take a deep breath in of support and focusing in on you. You are worth it.

Want to be a BAWLR, yes you do! Today’s episode is geared toward Women Leaders and we will be talking with not one but two amazing guests here who are leaders in their lives and truly take investing in yourself through the importance of self-care seriously and are in action consistently with it.
One of our guests is a fan favorite and leads Retreats for women leaders, you will remember Ali Goff of BAWLR and new to the podcast is Joclynn July a woman leader who has participated in BAWLR.
I have the opportunity to work with a lot of female entrepreneurs who embody clear purpose and vision based on what they are passionate about and know the power of the pivot when circumstances show up. AND yet burnout can still be a slippery slope that we address and have a structure in place to avoid constantly. We are going to be discussing all of that and so much more today and our guests today will share from their heart great nuggets you don’t want to miss. Also, we have an amazing opportunity for you coming up in April so stay tuned.

It is March 1st and today it’s my birthday, I am so jazzed I get to spend it with you. Another trip around the sun and oh the places we have not gone. Ok well out and about anyway because you know a pandemic but, the places we have stretched this year well it’s been amazing. This time last year this podcast was in motion to be unleashed for one and it really has made this year incredible.
Something that I love to do once a year is visit the “Story of Me” reflect on the things that shaped me and take a look at the year ahead and write the next chapter. You have heard me say this many times, God has a plan for us, and I believe that to my core, and trust it. I also trust my intuition; you know that little voice that guides you (if you are willing to hear it). Often times when I am working with clients, I will get asked “what do you think I should do”, and you can be sure I am going to come back and ask what does your “gut” say? See we know the next step and we often cloud it with listening to our imposter who loves to doubt, or we go to confusion instead of focusing on the behaviors and habits one day at a time that will move us forward. Today we are going to explore five key things that will help you write your story.

During our two-day immersion in LIFt we talked about what it means as Leaders to “Play A Bigger Game” in life personally and professionally. One of the key pieces in this is “you’ve got to invest Mind, Body, Spirit”. If we are not taking care of ourselves and making us the priority in the Bigger Game, how can we give back to others? We can for a little while however burnout is sure to set in. There are so many components to investing in ourselves and I can’t wait to dive into this with you all.
On today’s episode we have a wonderful guest, and we are going to be talking all about investing in yourself.
Today’s guest has served in senior management roles in marketing for two television networks, teaches a course at Loyola Marymount University’s School of Film & Television here in Los Angeles, and is the founder of his own consulting firm specializing in marketing and communications, SD Creative Consulting.

Happy February! Welcome to Season 2. I am super excited for Season 2 because we are still bringing tons of great tips, strategies, and opportunities to take the lead in your life so that you are creating the impact you want every day, and we are going to kick it up a notch! Season 2 will have us digging deeper and raising the bar, it will be about sustaining your leadership and bringing others with you. It will be about amazing leaders developing leaders, and it will be about contribution. This season is going to take Entrepreneurs, businesses, and individuals seeking self-improvement to the next level and I am absolutely here for it. With that welcome to Season 2!
Before we get started, I want to give a huge shout out and congratulations to all of the leaders who have stepped into LIFt the Leadership Impact Forum. We just completed our two-day immersion, and they are pumped and ready to create amazing impact in their lives and the lives of others. I am so humbled to get to be Coach for them as they take on the next 10 weeks creating their next levels. The immersion weekend was so powerful, and I have tremendous gratitude and my heart is so full. Stay tuned because I will be shouting them out as they LIFt!
As I have added the LIFt program to create an impact and contribution, I thought it would be a great time to start Season 2 with talking about creating Harmony in our life. When our plates get bigger I often hear, “well just get a bigger plate”, and I really don’t subscribe to that.
We live in a society that asks us to go bigger, faster, stronger, harder. Did anyone just flash back to the Bionic Woman and Bionic Man (shout out Lindsey Wagner and Lee Majors) or did I just super date myself? Ok I digress….
As I am currently facing a full plate in which I will not go and grab the banquet platter, I have to keep reminding myself there is no such thing as balance, it’s a complete myth and I get to design harmony. I also really feel like what’s occurring for one is occurring for all at some level, so thought you would love to visit the land of harmony with me, so let’s go!
Here are the highlights from this episode:
{3:41} How we don't need to go bigger, faster and stronger
{5:01} Harmony is something we can design in our lives
{9:45} A practice is only as good as a practice

It’s January 2021 and we are about halfway through, how are your self-care habits going? As entrepreneurs, leaders, and committed to self-improvement, I can’t say this enough, self-care is non-negotiable. We have a responsibility to stick with it. And it is not always what you think it is. In fact, this is so important that I want to dive right in with our guest today and get right to it. Prepare to take some notes, here we go.

We have all been thinking about 2021, setting intentions, declaring outcomes and goals, practicing new habits, and being in action. In addition to making declarations, we are going to talk about what goes hand in hand with declarations and creating more of the results you want, and that is being in ownership of your choices. It is not uncommon for people to shy away from one of the most important principles of being a leader and that is accountability, why is that?
Often associated with blame, fault, circumstances, I can go on and on. We often hear “who’s accountable for this, which can immediately have us shrinking in our seats because it triggers a feeling of “I’m in trouble. It’s like someone is pointing a finger, yikes.
In today’s episode let’s bust that myth right now, because in the world of leadership coaching Accountability is actually one of the tools that is the most impactful.
