Letters From Your Dog

Sometimes when we feel frustrated with our ability to train our dogs, or we feel things aren't progressing as might like, we ask "what am I missing?", or "what am I doing wrong?", or "what do I need to change?"

There is sadly rarely a simple answer to those questions as our relationships with our dogs are so multi-faceted and there can be so many variables at play.

HOWEVER, in this case, this one tweak in your communication with your dog can make a world of difference and it costs you absolutely nothing in terms of time, money, or effort.

It's Christmas!

Whether your adore christmas, or you sit firmly in the "can't wait until it's over" camp, maybe you are also worried about how to manage your dog and your guests during the festive period.

I think often a lot of the focus is put on "managing the dog", whether that's trying to help them not to get too excited, to get them to calm down quickly and stop them jumping on people, or to find ways of distracting them from getting too overwhelmed.

Sure, we talk about that a little in this episode, but the REAL good stuff is about how to MANAGE YOUR GUESTS in your dog's home!

Do you live with a dog struggling with Separation Anxiety? You are not alone! In fact there are huge numbers of dogs and owners searching for a solution.

The good news about Separation Anxiety is that it is treatable, however, it does take time, dedication and support to help you get your dog to a better place. Getting the support of a force-free trainer or behaviourist (preferably one that specialises in SA) is invaluable, 

However, even if that's not an option for you, in this episode I talk through some of the biggest pitfalls I commonly see,  which can derail effective separation anxiety training.
