In this episode I wanted to dig deeper into why I had hated the Holiday Season. For some the Holiday Season is filled with joy and celebration but for me, year after year, I began to dread this time of year. I knew for one I hated having to pretend I was happy all the time with all the happy Holiday music, but the analytical side of me knew that issue was deeper than hearing the Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas" song. So, we go a little deeper and speak about a certain family dynamic system that might just be what people like me want to end when we say, "End The Cycle"!

Through my own experiences and conversations as of late, I've come to a place of digging even deeper into the trauma I've experienced to see where my expectations lie. Have you wondered where your expectations come from and how you can lessen them in order to live a more balances and healthy life? Take a listen to this episode and see if it'll awake something within you as you go into or continue your mental health journey.
As we grow and healing, we begin to Unlearn a lot of things. Within Unlearning we also begin to learn how to speak up for ourselves or speak up for others, and a better way to communicate altogether. When we do this at times we can get out of control, but what about the times we do not get out of control but still end up in conflict with someone else? This episode touches on Calling People Out from a place of Intention. My co-host and I, in our journeys of asserting ourselves, we retell stories of when we called someone out without intention, when we called someone out with intention, and what we both learned from these experiences.

I'm wrapping up Season 2 with the start of a new series for Season 3, where I speak to different people within the BIPOC community about Mental Health, Theories, Concepts, and Lifestyles. This episode is the first of the series with a special guest, Morbia Corpus. She's a fellow creative whose focus is illustration/comic and in this episode she shares her struggles with mental health and takes us into her healing journey!
In today's episode I am going to be as vulnerable as possible about where I am in life right now.
This episode was influenced by the Netflix documentary In Our Mother's Garden. In Our Mother's Garden was created by Filmmaker Shantrelle P. Lewis who examines the complex and often humorous relationship between Black mothers and daughters. The documentary features an eclectic group of women who share stories of and relationship with their mothers to redefine holistic living rooted in radical self-care and healing.
In this episode I share space with a new and already special friend of mine, William BJ Robinson Jr, who also goes by BJ to discuss his platform Tough Talks, his activisim in the performance art world, and what it means to be a Black Queer Person in life, and more so after the murder of George Floyd. I also share my Black Queer experience and you'll be surprised as to how much BJ and I have in common in our life experiences, personalities, and how we tackle Black Representation and the Black Narrative.
