Therapy Is Important For Children.
“When we talk about children’s mental health and learning to help them cope with trauma or mental illness, we become a bit misguided. Naturally, we need to address issues like stigma, lack of resources, and the challenges of working with a child’s brain to repair any damage before it becomes a long-term problem.
But we also need to see mental health work as an opportunity. Therapy should not only be about reacting to a breakdown and restoring someone to normal. Rather, we should aim to transform the people around us and empower them to grow beyond who they were when they started to have the issues. It’s even easier to accomplish this when we take the time to talk about children’s mental health.” - Michael Noker
