The Leper Shows Us How To Pray For Healing

Transcript:

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. In the early days of Jesus’ ministry, a leper came to him, begging for Jesus to heal him. He kneeled before Jesus, and showed us how we are to pray for healing. “If you are willing,” the leper said, “you can make me clean.” He did not insist that Jesus heal him, he did not name and claim his healing, he asked Jesus for it in humility. He knew sometimes God has purposes larger than physical healing. He had the confidence that Jesus could heal him, and would if it represented the will of God for his life. Jesus was moved with pity, stretched out his hand, touched him - which was never done - and said, “I am willing; be clean.” And immediately the leprosy left him. So when we pray for healing, let’s pray in faith, knowing that Jesus has all power to heal. But let’s also trust him to heal if and only if it is his will.

Intact Nuclear Family Is Best For The Health Of Adolescents

Washington, D.C. In Total Meltdown - Time To Fix Our Eyes On God

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Our nation’s capitol is in a virtual meltdown as accusations fly about the president’s health, as talks about a stimulus bill collapse, as families around the president come under attack, and as his enemies try to destroy him. The Psalmist speaks of times like this when he says in Psalm 2, “Why do the nations rage and the people plot in vain?” God is not disturbed by all this. “He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.” God is not rattled, God is not unsettled - let’s fix our eyes on him. God has a plan in the midst of this tumult and all of it is serving his purposes, even the parts we don’t understand. So we can trust in God’s power and purpose, and steady ourselves with the conviction that God will work out his plan and see to it that his will is done here on earth as it is in heaven.

Voter Fraud? What Voter Fraud? People Now Stealing Collection Boxes

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. The president’s opponents do not want to win this election fairly, they just want to win, by any means necessary. Virginia is reporting that people are actually stealing outdoor mail collection boxes with ballots still in them. Six such boxes were stolen over the weekend, their door latches busted and pried open by force. Even the Washington Post is fretting that "The incidents tap into worries about the security of mail-in voting.” No kidding. At least Governor Abbott of Texas has wisely directed each county to have only one collection box for ballot drop-offs, and allows observers to monitor ballot deliveries. And the Supreme Court ruled correctly that absentee ballots in South Carolina must have a witness’ signature. This election may be decided by voter fraud rather than by voters.

Time To Armor Up For The Great War

Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. As the people of God, we are headed into a great war, and we even know the exact date on which it will happen. There is an enormous conflict in the heavenly places between the forces of God and the forces of evil over what kind of nation we will be. We will meet on a great battlefield on November three to decide whether we will be a nation that honors God, honors the word of God, cherishes religious liberty, protects the lives of the unborn, believes in the institution of God-ordained marriage, believes in normative sexuality, and believes in the rule of law. This is not a battle that anyone can afford to sit out. The character and future of our country is at stake. And if it seems we are outnumbered, let us never forget the words of Scripture: “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

The Debate: Entertaining If You Like Cage-Fighting

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. This week’s presidential debate was entertaining - if you like cage-fighting - but not particularly illuminating. The format was horrible, a format that encouraged both Biden and Trump to interrupt each other and talk over each other. Chris Wallace was clearly in Biden’s corner, so Trump was debating two opponents, not just one. Wallace interrupted Trump repeatedly, but rarely - if ever - interrupted Biden. Trump was clearly the alpha male in the room, so for Americans looking for strong, assertive leadership in a president, Trump helped himself. I doubt, however, that the debate helped anyone whose mind was not already made up. Biden advisers are encouraging him to refuse to debate Trump again, a sure sign that they think Biden lost. We have likely seen our last presidential debate for the year.

America’s Awakening Begins

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. We all recognize that America’s only hope is a massive spiritual awakening, a nationwide return to God. He has told us that if we who are called by his name will humble ourselves and pray, confess our sins, and turn from our wicked ways, he will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land, a land which is in desperate need of healing. The massive 400,000 person prayer and praise event that occurred on the national mall last weekend was the first moment, I believe, in a long overdue spiritual awakening in America. As the word was proclaimed, as praise and prayer ascended to the throne of God, something began to shake and quake in the heavens. The people of God started pushing back against the forces of darkness, and God will keep his promise to us to turn to us and heal our land. The awakening has begun!

Constitution: If Electoral College Doesn’t Produce A Result, Congress Can

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. This year’s presidential election is already one of the most bitterly contested in US history. What if the Electoral College does not produce a clear result? The Constitution has the answer. If no candidate has an Electoral College majority, the House of Representatives shall immediately - note that word - choose the President through a vote in which the delegation of each state gets one vote. So fifty votes will be cast to determine the next president. Now here’s the kicker: even though the House today has a majority of Democrats, that’s irrelevant, because the Republicans control more state delegations than Democrats do, by a margin of twenty-six to twenty-three, with Michigan’s delegation being split. If Republicans remain faithful, say hello to our next president, Donald J Trump.
