Bryan Fischer here with the Life and Liberty Minute. The Bible teaches that parents have the God-given authority to raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. But increasingly the world is rejecting that standard and putting government in charge. Robert Hoogland is the Canadian father of a 14-year old daughter. In 2019 the Supreme Court of British Columbia ordered his daughter to receive testosterone injections because she thinks she’s a boy. This was done without his consent and over his objections. The court also threatened him with punishment if he referred to her as anything other than a boy. Hoogland was arrested and jailed last week for continuing to refer to her as his “daughter” and using the pronouns “she” and “her.” The charge? “Family violence,” if you can believe it. Parents now face punishment for being parents.

Bryan Fischer with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Voter fraud was widespread in the 2020 election, but no court - including the Supreme Court - would even consider Trump’s complaints. His team never got to present their arguments in a court of law.  Now a judge in Michigan, by actually allowing evidence of fraud to be presented in his court, has validated Trump’s complaints about the tool of choice for election cheaters: mail-in-ballots. Jocelyn Benson, the Michigan Secretary of State, virtually eliminated the signature matching requirement for absentee ballots. This was in violation of state law and the Constitution. Judge Christopher Murray ruled that she committed a crime by eviscerating the matching signature standard on her own authority. Did Democrats cheat to win in 2020? To the objective observer, the answer yes, yes they did.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. We face an uncertain future as a nation, and the only way we can face it with confidence is through a genuine, deep-seated faith in God. But it cannot be a shallow faith. In the days of Samuel, the people of Israel treated the ark of the covenant, the symbol of God’s presence among his people, as a good luck charm. They had a superstitious belief that all they had to do was bring the ark to the field of battle and victory would be theirs. But when they tried it, they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Philistines. The only thing that will sustain us in the days ahead is a sincere, humble faith in the power of God. Treating God or the Bible or religious symbols as a rabbit’s foot won’t do it. Superficial faith won’t cut it in the days ahead. Our faith must not rest in symbols or in ritual but the living God.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Conservatism, based ultimately on the word of God, makes no distinction based on race. But regressives, who get their world view from some place else, are bringing actual racial segregation back with a vengeance. Ivy League university Columbia is holding six separate graduation ceremonies, based on various multicultural identities. There will be one ceremony for Native Americans, another for LGBTQs, another for Asians, another for low-income students, another for Hispanics, and still another for blacks. So much for the American motto, “Out of many, one.” Regressives are undoing the life’s work of Martin Luther King as fast as they can, and promoting racial division rather than reconciliation. It’s time to reverse direction and once again become one nation indivisible under God.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Bible says that God made man “male and female.” That means two genders and two genders only. And by God’s creative design they are different in every single cell of their anatomy. This explains why female soldiers simply cannot perform as well on fitness tests as their male counterparts. 65 percent of women fail the Army Combat Fitness Test, while just 10 percent of men do - because of differences in muscle mass, lung capacity, and stamina. The army is trying to find a way, quote, “to make it fair to both genders.” Well, the test is as fair as it is possible to be - both genders take exactly the same test. Ignoring the biological and genetic reality of God’s creation is not fair either to men or women and will only compromise military readiness. And that’s not fair to everyone in the United States.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Can the central government require people to receive an injection of a COVID vaccine? The short answer is absolutely not. When a vaccine is in the experimental stage and not yet fully licensed by the FDA, as all COVID vaccines are at this stage, federal law is explicit that since they are authorized only for “emergency use,” Americans must have the option to refuse them. They cannot be mandated. On top of that, the 4th Amendment states clearly that one of the inalienable rights Americans have received from God is the right to, quote “be secure in their persons.” Our bodily integrity cannot be violated without our consent. A vaccine injection is an invasive procedure and constitutionally can only be done with our permission. If you're not fine with a vaccine injection, nobody can make you get one.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. March is Women’s History Month. One thing we can do for women is protect their Second Amendment right to defend themselves. According to the CDC, every year Americans use guns in self-defense two to three million times, and many of those Americans are women. Women are often protected from bad guys by a good guy with a gun. Last month two men broke into a home in North Carolina looking for money and shot a 73 year-old woman in the leg. Her 12 year-old grandson retrieved a firearm and shot at both intruders as they ran. One of the intruders died from his wounds and the other one disappeared. The Constitution says it’s the right of the people, not just law enforcement, to keep and bear arms. President Biden is determined to disarm the American people and leave us defenseless. Let’s not let him do it.

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Chike Uzuegbunam, a student at Gwinnett College in Georgia, won a huge First Amendment victory this week at the Supreme Court. In 2016, Chike was sharing his faith with students and handing out literature on campus about Christianity. Campus police stopped him, and told him he could only do it in a small designated area. So he reserved that spot, but campus police stopped him again, saying you can’t talk about your faith because people are complaining. But the Supreme Court ruled 8-1 that quote “Uzuegbunam had experienced a complete violation of his constitutional rights when respondents enforced their speech policies against him.” In truth, the First Amendment establishes all of America as one, entire free speech zone. Gwinnett College should remember that for a long, long time.

When John Roberts was appointed to the Supreme Court, he made a big deal out of saying that his job as a judge was just to call balls and strikes like an umpire. But this week, out of all nine justices, he was the only one who voted against the First Amendment in a case in which a Christian student was punished at a Georgia college for exercising his freedom of religion and speech, rights plainly guaranteed in the First Amendment. Even the regressive extremists on the Court could recognize an egregious violation of the Constitution when they saw one. An umpire is not allowed to make up his own rules - they’ve been given to him by the Rules Committee of baseball. And the rules for Supreme Court justices have been given to them in the Bill of Rights. Sadly, our current chief justice no longer believes that.
